“The sort of place you stumble upon, then wonder why everyone isn’t talking about it.The food was divine. A perfect mix of flavours and delicately executed. I especially recommend the Yellowtail Crudo to start, and the lemon olive oil cake to finish. You might struggle to park but there aren’t many better places to eat in Monterey than this!Parking: On site, around the back“
“Great food. We went to the aquarium and decided to bail out to get food. The aquarium has less than stellar options so I recommend coming here. Service was a bit slow but it was still worth coming here as the food was actually cheaper and better. They also have heated outdoor benches which was quite a surprise ?“
“Absolutely LOVE this place. I had the crab and shrimp omelette with a Lou Mosa. I would recommend you come early so you can enjoy your breakfast with a beautiful view. Best Breakfast in Monterey!!!! The atmosphere is fun and warm and exciting every time I come.“
“Old school, old school, old school is all I can say! 35 year successful establishment with the owner on the premises and hands on. His brothers are the chefs. True, classic Italian family run restaurant. Food is traditional and the clam chowder unreal. The owner will talk your ear off, so be careful! Great experience. They truly care. This is a serious restaurant, not a tourist trap.“
“Nice ambiance, good selection on tap. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The bar itself doesn't have food options, but there's a taco truck in the outside dining area that does, and you can bring the food into the bar itself. Can be a little loud/crowded on a weekend.“
“A friend recommended this place and it sure exceeded expectations. Wait staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast portions were were large, and my husband and I could have split something if we could have agreed on what to eat. Hollandaise sauce was spot on, NOT fake cheesy sauce. Took home leftovers. And the sweets looked so yummy. May have to go back this evening to pick up dessert.“
“The food was good, and so was the White Chocolate Mochas, but there seemed to be a lot going on in the prep area, but not so much as in the dining (interior/exterior) area. Also pretty pricey for breakfast, two crepes & two White Chocolate Mochas was over $50.“
“I was undecided between the breakfast quesadilla and a benedict. The server, Azeneth, informed me that Wave is renowned for its holiday sauce, so I opted for the heirloom tomato and basil benedict. I requested it with bacon but ultimately removed it. It was exceptionally delectable! I also ordered a caramel latte, which was of exceptional quality, suggesting that they source their coffee locally from a reputable brand. Azeneth provided attentive service throughout my meal. The restaurant is situated in Monterey, directly on the beach, offering a picturesque setting. I indulged in a delightful Italian fillo. If you are considering a breakfast visit, I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment.Parking: There are a few complimentary parking spaces available at the restaurant's location.“
“Before, I had never noticed the BobaLicious truck on the side of the Exxon gas station, but a classmate of mine from CSUMB recommended me to try it since I love boba! I tried their matcha green tea latte and have been coming back ever since! It's the perfect taste, not too strong or too sweet! The owner is really friendly, he stated that he is now opening up an actual BobaLicious shop in a few weeks on 474 Tyler street! I highly recommend coming here, way better than T-Zone boba in downtown Monterey!“
“Review for the complimentary breakfast 8/10The service is excellent and attentive. The food was delicious and the frittata was excellent. Ambiance it was very aesthetically pleasing. Overall the hotel was nice and the food was awesome.More food stuff @vin.foodjournal“
“Nice little wine bar with small bites in the Cannery Row area. They had some nice wine choices and beers. Charcuterie and flatbreads and other snacks. Wine flights in test tubes which looked a bit bizarre but was popular! Good service with only one person working when I went. I went with a glass of their Brut which was slightly sweet for me , and their sourdough pretzel with Dijon mustard. The pretzel was nice and warm and the mustard had a great kick. Nice little gifts available too. I liked that it had groups and just solos having a glass of vino at the end of the day. Cozy feel.“
“Never in my life have I ever thought I'd see the live long day I would eat a raw sweet potato but then I went to Alta Cafe in Monterey and ordered a Grain* Bowl. The menu listed sweet taters in it and I'm a sweet tato felon. But to my surprise and eventual delight that sucker RAW. Never have I felt more raw vegan Cali girl Stanley cup life style than then and I fear I may never feel that way again ?. Also the coffee cold brew had coffee ice cubes that was awesome good job guys .and the ginger scone was yummy. And the salmon toast was yummy too.*Quinoa bowl excuse meVegetarian options: So many it's crazy. Raw tatosKid-friendliness: You could fit So many of those suckers in there“
“I came here with my family this last weekend and wanted to make sure I completed this review based off the fantastic experience I had at this location. Desiree was extremely nice and helpful. Desiree even accommodated us by taking me to look at the table that was available to ensure that worked for my family and let me know there was another option if it did not work for us. I have to say I have never had a restaurant employee treat me that good. I really felt welcomed and taken care of.When we sat down we were assisted by waitress Autumn who was wonderful herself. Autumn was very friendly, attentive and had good knowledge of the menu. Exactly how you would like your server to be. She took very good care of us our whole visit. Overall the food, service and atmosphere were awesome. I would definitely recommend coming here when you're in Monterey. I for sure will be coming back very soon.“
“Best juices & smoothies in town! I never knew I could taste if an ingredient is fresh when it's blended or juiced till now. Yes I could make my own smoothie at home but it just isn't the same Make sure to sign up for their rewards program! Worth every penny.“
“We came here for dinner and decided just to do a bunch of appetizers. It was all delicious, but especially the sliders. You can also sample most of the beers so you can be sure you like it before ordering more. The staff was incredibly nice and we had a great time. We will definitely be going back for actual entrees next time.“
“Garlic Roasted Mushroomsthey were okay I wish they were dripping in garlic butter.Almost PalomaTequila Blanco, lime juice, house-made grapefruit shrubTastes exactly like a good Paloma but without the fizz of soda. Would recommendSnake River Farms Wagyu Eye of RibeyeGrilled over almond wood, duck fat fried marble potatoes, charred onion, huckleberry demi-glaceJust get it because it's that good melt in your mouth seriously, but pro move ask for a little salt to sprinkle on top it will enhance the flavors truly.Jumbo Lump Blue Crab CakesPan-seared, apple-carrot slaw, pomegranate seeds, pomegranate reductionGood, but it is sweet, I would have preferred it a little more with savory notes but I recommend it because it's a really fresh take on the crab cakeMiso Glazed Pork BellyPickled apple arugula salad, garlic chili oilThis I would order again and double it.. soo good. The salad was absolutely refreshing paired well with the rich tender pork belly. I was so mesmerized.Olo Ranch Braised Beef Short RibConfit of cherry tomatoes, vegetable sauteed spinach, pommes puree, pan jusTender TENDER TENDER I recommend ordering this everytime you go.Parking: Parking is extremely limited we were lucky enough to find parking in the parking garage for free in the evening. we drove around for about 10 min until we lucked out.“
“My family and I were driving through Monterey and we needed a quick sandwich. 3 Mundos had great reviews so we thought we'd give them a try. We tried their Philly Cheesesteak, chicken bacon and baked turkey sandwiches. They did not disappoint. Not only were they large and delicous, the fresh roll that they use are crunchy and tasty as well. The staff was very friendly and patient as we had trouble deciding which sandwiches to try. The menu is very extensive. We all agreed that the sandwiches were one of the better sandwiches that we've ever had. We will definitely be back to try more of their sandwiches.“
“This is a gastronomic delight, where authentic recipes are infused with passion by the hospitable owner Maurizio, and served by a charming team in a spectacular West-facing coastal setting. It was so good, we can't possibly eat anywhere else on our second night here!“
“My first time at this restaurant. My kind of place. I ordered the Fiesta burger with their slaw. We also ordered a basket of onion rings. The food was delicious and plentiful. Only negative was our server must have had a bad day. Not very personable. I truly hope it was just because her day had been difficult. Definitely will go back.“
“East Village Cafe makes an amazing cup of coffee. The baristas are so nice and professional. The place itself has so much personality, so cozy and eclectic. The best part is, you don't have to wait in a crazy long line like at other coffee shops in the area. I definitely recommend this place if you are into amazing coffee and chill vibes.“
“This is the perfect place to sample a variety of delicious tapas. We had the Brussels sprouts, Coca Catalan, patatas bravas, crispy mushroom and burrata, croquetas de jamon and jamon Serrano y manchego. All were beautifully presented and tasty. The red sangria was lovely and the desserts were a perfect ending - Basque cheesecake, Crema Catalana and a trio of delicious ice cream - banana, strawberry and coffee. This is my second time here, and I will return for more of the scrumptiousness. The service was professional and attentive. .“
“This place really does their food right. I absolutely loved their fish and chips and more laid back atmosphere here versus cannery row. I do recommend eating here if you just want a good meal after a long day at the aquarium or beach.Parking: Easy to find a place to park on the street on a busy Friday afternoon“
“Everything was simply fantastic! Our high standards were exceeded. This has got to be the best restaurant in Monterey. From the service to the food to the ambiance - there is nothing that left us wanting more. You can truly feel the love the owners and staff put into their work.“
“I stopped in in early afternoon to enjoy some afternoon wine, and it did not disappoint. The wine was delicious. I did the Taser and then had a glass of one of my favorites. The waitress was amazing and the live music was an added bonus definitely a spot I will go back to.“
“If you are ever lucky enough to find yourself in Monterey looking for sushi and end up in Crystal Fish thank whatever God you pray to and then just start ordering until you can't fit in your pants anymore! This place is absolutely amazing. I consider myself quite the sushi snob and I have yet to be disappointed by the quality, the flavor, the presentation, or the portion. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The menu is robust enough to make for a difficult choice but not so voluminous that you just feel lost. I come to Monterey once a year for 3 days for an event and I eat here all 3 nights!Parking: Who cares! Even if you have to park a mile away, the food is worth it. And you'll need the walk after because you'll be so full. BECAUSE THE FOOD IS SO GOOD!“
“Giving this little wine bar 4 stars for the great vibes! We walked in on a Wednesday, which happened to be bingo night (with some hilarious puns interspersed in between). There were two tasting flight options available, both priced at $20 for 5 wines. Our standouts were the 2020 Dog & Pony Trousseau and 2020 Dog & Pony Il Rinnegato. IMO this wine bar is unique, carrying some lesser seen single grape varietals like carignane and negrette. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!“
“So I'll start with the positivity."The works" bacon breakfast burrito was excellent, potatoes cooked perfectly with great flavor and homemade salsa flavor bomb. Wife said her breakfast tacos were delicious same positivity on her food.Moving on to the drinks, my wife loved the orange juice however $6 for about 8oz is a little bold. I bought a $7 latte which didn't offend me by price because in all the pictures it came in a Bowl! And I was actually excited about that however they didn't have any clean bowls at the time so they gave me a regular mug which was at least only have the size and charged me full price. When I asked about it she explained and said she would remake it for me but never did, and still charged full price.I can get by all that but my son ordered the buttermilk pancakes and they didn't give him syrup we had to ask not that big of deal, then after he said he was done eating my wife went to sample his pancakes and noticed the middle of the cakes still had batter in them, not cooked fully. My son is only 11 and just didn't know any better he thought because it said buttermilk that that was normal lol, the restaurant took off $6 from the $12 price and gave him a free cookie however, one staffer tried to suggest they may have been a little undercooked I don't appreciate trying to justify it just comes off as a disagreement and there was nothing to dispute. Also if you want to make amends for a partially raw pancake you mark it completely off the bill, especially considering I only got a half coffee ?.If I could go 3.8 I would again our items tasted great just some key misses in decorum.“
“Gyro bowl is the way to go! My favorite thing there, they pack the bowls enough for two meals. I typically share it wit my son. The chicken is always super tender and loaded with alot of meat. The spicy yogurt sauce is my favorite. The rice is always perfectly cooked and I always get extra rice. The service is always super fast, Its way better option for fast food. Nice and clean inside.“
“It is a beautiful tasting room to begin with. The wines were excellent and well explained to us by Grace the manager. Walked out with two bottles only because we wanted to save some for the next wine tasters! We will be back. Grace also gave us recommendations for other wineries and restaurants, which is always helpful!“
“I can recommend for a super casual meal. I had the quesadilla supreme. Packed with chopped beef, refried beans, sour cream, lettuce and pico de gallo. Cheese could've been more prominent but overall a gigantic dish that I shared one third of with my boyfriend and ate mostly with a fork. Boyfriend had the two soft tacos plate. Again, a lot to eat. He liked all of it. This is a tiny spot, with three tables. Most business seems to be takeout. But it's clean, the cooks/counter staff were friendly. This is the north end of Cannery Row, next to a garage and across from two hotels.“
“Whenever we are in Monterey this is a must stop. We really enjoy the outside patio, it’s always a thrill when a jet landing at the nearby airport buzzes the parking lot. This time for lunch I had a fried chicken sandwich and my wife had fish and chips. We started out with calamari but there was a mixup with the timing and the plates came out before the app. The manager came out and said they would re-make the plates when we were ready rather than park them under a heat lamp. That was really a nice touch.“
“These guys catered my party, and they were AWESOME! Their catering menu had lots of choices, included chips/salsa/guac, and because we had fewer people than originally planned, they left us with some burritos before they left. Having a taco truck in the driveway was also a big draw. Highly recommended.“
“We LOVE Hula’s!! As Tiki Tuesday regulars now, we always come back for the great service (shout out to Dan especially! He is always so warm and friendly and makes great recommendations for specials and favorites!), fun and cozy atmosphere, and excellent food and drinks. I have never had a bad experience in all the times of coming here, and I always recommend the Godzilla tots and a Dr. Funk to all that come to Monterey. I also really appreciate the vegan options that they have as it can be difficult to accommodate my dietary needs with my friends and family who aren’t always also vegetarian or vegan. Thank you Hula’s team!!“
“I visited this establishment during my weekly sojourn to the Monterey Farmers Marketplace...I walked in to this beautifully designed tasting room with white quartz counter tops...the gentleman who was pouring the wine was quite knowledgeable and friendly...the wine was incredible especially the pinot noir...I joined the wine club on the spot...over the weekend...I headed to their Carmel Valley tasting room with a friend.. again...incredible hospitality was extended to us by Lyle...and the same incredible wine was enjoyed...they have several other wines to choose from...but I save myself for the several pinots from different years. What a truly memorable experience...p.s. I understand that they also have a tasting room in Carmel by the Sea...so there is no excuse not to visit...in vino veritas!“
“Had 2 sandwiches, Spicy Tuna Melt and Argentinian Trip-Tip. The tuna melt was good but the spicy chile de arbol they put in it was spicy and over powered the rest of the flavors. The Argentinian tri-tip was good, the beef was well seasoned and cooked perfectly, tho their chimichurri sauce wasn’t chimichurri but a pesto spread which change the flavor profile. The Staffs and the restaurant’s aesthetic were very nice though!Parking: Parking was slightly difficult to find.“
“This place is so yummmyyy!!! We came on a weekend trip to Monterey and decided to eat here. Service was great! My boyfriend and I came on a Sunday at around 8ish maybe 8:30ish and it wasn’t too packed. Shortly after, families did start arriving and it got busier. Regardless, we still got served our food in a timely manner and would definitely come again! Their outside seating is perfect! They have heaters and a fire setting that’s not super big but it’ll keep you warm. It’s also dog friendly which was cute!“
“The breathtaking quality of this cuisine brought me to tears right there at the dinner table. Never, in my 38-months-long career as a local guide, have I encountered such acute and accommodating staff that brought the grapes of Italy (in form of their wine) and the tomatoes of Sicily (in form of their pasta) straight to my plate. I left this place with a full tummy and a happily-beating heart. Raw, real, riveting: this is Italy abroad.“
“I went to a production Of Rocky Horror at the Paper Wing Theatre in Monterey. It was great. The staff are all really friendly and they have a nice bar area and the most delicious brownies I have ever tasted. I highly recommend this theatre. I went to a 8:00 pm show. It was not a dinner show. The play was very good. It had some very talented actors in the production. I loved the girl playing Trixie. She was awesome!“
“We hired Urban Kitchen Catering & Events for a corporate group of 90 ppl traveling from all over Europe to Monterey. They were so amazing from start to end. Rene, Bethany with staff was wonderful to work with and created a very special experience for the group. The food was also spot on! We will definitely work with them again. /Mice Coordinator at Go West Tours“
“Stopped by here before boarding for whale watching, waited on by Shanel in the bar. She was delightful and let us know a big party just came in and we may have a bit of a wait...we only waited for about 10 minutes and our food was bagged and "boat" ready. Fish sandwich and fries were delicious, will definitely be back to explore the menu! Four stars only because the gentlemen host in the front was very standoffish, maybe because we were ordering to go, nevertheless not very welcoming.“
“Best sports bar around! Lots of TVs, you can request a game and they will usually have it. Extra innings may be a little iffy but other than that, they usually have everything!Food is always great. Staff is great. Patio out back is awesome.“
“Every time we come to this place the quality of the food and service just remains top-notch. It might just be my new fav in town. I've mainly had burgers here but I can't wait to try some other tasty choices. I appreciate the consistency guys! Thanks ;)“
“I had an absolute blast here. The atmosphere was lovely, and my shrimp burrito slapped! The price was fair, and the food was quick. After a small hiccup with my order that he addressed quickly, the owner gave us some free rice and beans and even offered a free soda! The other workers were also kind. If I lived nearby, I would come here often, and I will still likely return in the future. Would highly recommend.“
“Holy crap this place is amazing! The food was delicious and every bite had so much flavor in it! I had the gnocchi and I just don't understand how they made it so fluffy! 10/10 would recommend. Our server was also absolutely amazing. He checked up on us often and was really helpful and even made a few jokes.“
“What a nice surprise! This restaurant had a Mexican vibe, and we wish there were more Mexican dishes on the menu. We had a burrito bowl and a steak quesadilla, and both were delicioso! The wait staff were attentive and kept our drinks filled.“
“Cool little spot specializing in pasta, with a seafood centric menu. Stopped here after the aquarium. Service was phenomenal, nice childrens menu for the little ones, and pretty fun cocktail list. I got the special, chipotle honey chicken pasta it was really good. My wife got the chicken parm. Very generous servings. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Elevator to second floor“
“My wife and I had a great anniversary dinner. Everyone was extremely friendly and attentive, in particular our waiter, Ruben. We had the sea bass and the cioppino and both were very good. We plan on returning and would recommend it. Dress was casual as it is right on Fisherman's Wharf towards the far end.“
“First one of the three I ever visited and still my favorite. The wonton soup is everything and the basil popcorn chicken is delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming. I eat solo and I don't feel rushed even though it's dinner time and the place is busy....honestly when you're eating hot soup it's not like you can rush....?“
“The food was delicious. The naan was especially good, it was cooked perfectly. I recommend to try the chili garlic prawn appetizer, I finished everything that was on that plate. The onion kulcha we ordered is not pictured but was very good as well. If you like rice with a bit of lemon/lime, try the butter chicken biryani. The service was very good from two of the staff (a waitress/bartender and a main cook). We were close to closing time, however they still served us very well and made some of the dishes completely fresh. On top of that they were respectful of us preferring to sit inside and not near the hookah. It may look like a small restaurant from the outside, but it is very spacious. The framed art is cultural and not random, which I thought was a nice touch.“
“Fantastic French cafe eats and coffee drinks. The setting is so Van Gogh. Perhaps it has views of the water from the unaccessible upper floors but it’s a quaint little place and is part of Monterey’s eclectic make-up. If you have a B’day coming up their French cakes are divine too.“
