“My absolute new favorite restaurant! We were visiting family in LA from Chicago and they took us here, I ended up going three times in my one week visit. Cheese stuffed zaatar and the sojouk kachopuri were my favorite and the garlic chicken wrap was my husbands. Honestly everything we had was delicious and the kids kept asking for the pepperoni pizza and mini pizzas.”

“I have been going to Porto's since the 1980's..the one in Glendale. How elated I was with having them being in Northridge where I live. The food is terrific and the lines go fast due to a tremendous quick system they have. The catering for parties has never let us down and people you have invited that never have experienced Portos are thrilled. The cakes are delicious. What I do miss is not having the individual cake slices for purchase so you can experience the taste. They only have the neapolitan, Parisian, and carrot for slices. I've seen the menu change over time and do miss some of the items.”

This restaurant has the layout, and feel of Japanese restaurants from days gone by. However, at the same time, it's very modern and stylish.

I entered with my Mom, and we were immediately greeted and seated. Our server was very friendly and had a great personality. It turns out he was very knowledgeable as well. I ordered the Salmon Shioyaki Entree, and Mom ordered the Miso Marinated Black Cod Entree. The Entrees come with Soup & Salad. The salad was subtly flavorful. With the greens, vegetables, crunchy topping, and dressing combining to create a delicious starting salad. The Miso Soup was very flavorful, and well balanced. They were both wonderful ways to start a meal. My Salmon Shioyaki was incredible. The Shio (Salt), enhances the natural flavor of the Salmon, and helps in browning, and creating crispy tasty salmon skin. The flesh was firm, yet tender and flaky. Just a squeeze of lemon, and it was perfection exemplified. The accompaniments, and rice, along with the delicious mixed Vegetables made it a complete meal. I had a taste of the Miso Black Cod. The glazed Miso flavor was undeniable, as the Black Cod melted in my mouth, ending in deliciousness.

A Japanese meal embodies that the sum of all parts, equals the whole. The Entrees here are examples of that philosophy.

The prices here are well worth it, considering what you get. The whole staff here is very friendly. Our server helped make our dining experience fantastic. We hope to see him again. We will be back,”

“Today is August 17, 2022, I came back because I had to try the steak bowl with all veggies and I had a can of BUBLY grapefruit flavored. Aleksandra, Sadee, Corrina and The rest of the staff are a lot of fun we spent a lot of time asking them about which pole I should try. I finally settled on the ribeye steak bowl with no rice… I had to have the garlic Serano sauce which Karina made clear was her favorite and turned out to be mine too but I had to add a couple packets of hot sauce the grapefruit drink I was enjoying was perfect with the spicy flavor and the meat was cooked to perfection! the store is kept very clean! Waba Wednesday means two chicken bowls for $12.99!”

“My husband and I usually go during happy hour for their poke nachos and crispy brussel sprouts but have tried a few other things. Everything we've tried has been delicious but occasionally varies in preparation quality. We went on March 18th and ordered the poke nachos but they were not as good. The portion was a lot smaller than usual, so we decided to order another one. The second one came out great (I included a picture of the one prepared correctly) and that's when we realized they left off ingredients from the first one sent. They were still good but it was interesting that the two plates were that different. We didn't mention this to our waiter and I'm sure they would have been accommodating but maybe plates should be checked for quality before they're delivered?

Another note, we usually sit at the bar but we got a table the last time since the bar was packed. We were obviously fine with this but the cleanliness was extremely lacking. The menus had food on them and greasy fingerprints. I'm also not sure why the booths are never wiped down?? The tables are cleaned but the food just lands on the seats. Then you're wondering what else isn't cleaned, look around, and notice all the other spots that aren't wiped down. So gross.”

“We came to Paragon Bar and Grill for brunch right after my daughter’s graduation from CSUN. I found the place through a quick internet search and didn’t really know what to expect, but I was able to make a reservation online for a party of 13 with no issue. Our reservation was right when they opened at 11am on a Sunday, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves—just a couple of people at the bar. The space definitely leans more bar than grill, but it worked well for our group. Very low-key and relaxed. The menu had plenty of options, which was great since we had a few picky eaters. Everyone found something they liked, and the food was excellent across the board. The service stood out—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. We didn’t order many drinks, but even so, I was surprised at how reasonable the bill was for such a large group. Only downside: the bathroom could use a refresh. It’s what you’d expect in a neighborhood bar—functional but not the highlight of the visit. Would absolutely go back. Great experience overall, and I really appreciate the staff for helping make the day special.”

“Stopped here on the way to the airport and I was not disappointed! I had a ham, cheese, mushroom and onion omelette (not on the menu exactly) with country potatoes and it was delicious! The coffee was good, the food came fast and got and the server was great. I'll be eating here again when I'm back in town. But they are cash only, luckily I had some on hand . . .”

As for the food, it's DELICIOUS! My son is picky, and even he couldn't deny how good the food is. The ramen is amazing, it's so good and the portions are hearty. I usually end up getting a ramen combo with a chashu bowl. Now, I get to eat there AND have delicious leftovers. My family have tried other ramen places around and we keep coming back to Futaba because it's number one in our eyes. The flavor is always on point. Definitely recommend.”

“We walked up and weren't sure if the place was open, but luckily some other patrons walked up at the same time so we followed them in. So glad we did! This is one of those Chinese places that opened when Adam was a lad and hasn't changed its approach since. The carpet looked original (and therefore quite worn, but that is literally the only thing I would change if I bought the place. I'd pay the chef whatever they wanted to stay, keep the service staff, keep the decor, and above all else, keep the menu. Traditional Chinese-American restaurant menu (quite long but mostly just variations on the same dozen recipes, swapping out proteins), but extremely well executed. We are new residents of the Valley and we will be regulars here.”

“From the moment my daughter and I walked in, we were greeted cheerfully. It took a moment for a waiter to show himself, but I was really impressed when he took our 'specialized ' order for appetizers and drinks without writing it down. Very fast service. He gave us enough time to enjoy the appetizers before coming to ask about entrees. When asked about certain cuts of steak, he was very knowledgeable on each one and how the taste would be. These again were not written down but perfectly delivered. When I asked him for suggestions on the cheesecake dessert, he was extremely helpful with informing us what he, himself, had tried as well as thoughts on other cheesecakes other patrons had eaten. His recommendations were a thousand percent on point. (Some servers seem to listen but they don't really...this guy did and was simply fantastic). He was very situationally aware and seemed to know when my daughter or I needed him (great technique). He provided a bag of things that I had ordered to go right as we were finishing up our cheesecake. There was no rush. We finished our drinks as he provided the bill. Our waiter took the bill and payment, was gone for maybe 2 minutes, said thank you with a smile and left to let us totally finish up and prepare to leave. I know that I am not by any means the best tipper...but I waitressed myself in younger years and my server blew me away. On a check, I gave him $40 on the credit card and then another $40 in cash. I'm not bragging about it. But I am saying that he did such a wonderful job that he deserve a big tip. (It was only my daughter and I) I think this young man definitely deserved a large tip. The Cheesecake Factory - a beautiful place with fantastic servers and hostess's. (At least at the Northridge mall.) Thank you again for the beautiful good and the exceptional service! (Can't remember the servers name....possibly Charles?!?😂 )”

“K-Stop has an amazing selection, and their kimbap is seriously delicious. I’ve tried all the varieties; tuna, beef, spicy chicken, and vegetable and every single one has been great. They’re super filling too. I usually order three for two people, but honestly, one per person is plenty.

I always leave feeling satisfied and like I made a healthy choice. The staff is also friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. I definitely recommend this spot if you’re craving tasty, fresh kimbap!”

“My recommendation is to come here if you're looking to stock up on goodies for a party, especially during the summer. Things like Piñatas, Ice Cream, Block of Ice (for shaved ice and candy. For things like cups, straws, plates you could find better deals at other big stores. It's more about what you won't find in those places that you can find at Northridge Ice Cream.

During my visit I picked up a big block of ice for $10, big piñata for 20 and some candy.

Overall, this place serves local vendors with ice cream, snacks and anything in between. I visited this place out of curiosity, but ended up leaving with bags of imported candy. A good half of it you can find in big supermarkets like Vallarta, but not all. The variety is good and organization methods. The folks there were very friendly and helpful. It felt like they were happy to have visitors in, but maybe you're just a happy person if you sell ice cream all day.”

The staff are beyond attentive at refilling waters, providing meat, cleaning, and checking in. I’ve noticed the owner takes the time to remember his customers and is always having a pleasant conversation that is heartwarming. “We've been to the Burger Lounge in Sherman Oaks but last night we were meeting friends who live in Calabasas so Northridge felt like a great mid-point option. There were four of us. I'm an extremely picky eater!! With that said, Bella (Front of House) took my order and even repeated it back twice which included her reading from what she punched into the computer. When my order came to the table it was 100% inaccurate. Kareem (Shift Leader) was very apologetic and wanted to immediately take care of it, which I appreciated. But, I wanted to take it a step further. I wasn't upset but curious as to how this occurred as I knew Bella had inputted the order into the computer correctly. She & Kareem were uncertain as to why it happened. Bella kept apologizing and I learned she was new. I told Bella it was not her fault but she insisted on taking ownership and Kareem wanted to do whatever it took to make me happy. My career involves running a company and training employees to take responsibility and therefore expeditiously turning the situation around. It's all about recovery and between how Burger Lounge trains their staff and the type of genuine human beings that work there....Burger Lounge succeeds at elevating the dining experience! BTW, the food was fabulous and if you're going to add sugar to it, their shakes are FUNomenal. Kareem & Bella are definitely above & beyond employees and the others working there were all happy & helpful. This is the gold standard and a recipe that should be non- negotiable for any business. It was a gift that the error occurred as it showed us what an outstanding establishment Burger Lounge is with outstanding employees. Huge thank you to Kareem & Bella. “I’ve been eating subs from My Hero since 1972! THE best subs I’ve eaten, ever. Moved through the years, and always went to My Hero’s when within 5 hours by car to where I was staying! The high quality of their food has never waivered! The buns are soft, yet chewy! The tomato salad in each sandwich is always fresh! Plus they give a generous portion of the protein! My favorite has always been pastrami! Lean and tasty, everytime! The staff is welcoming and genuinely happy you are there! I’ll be going in a week as I pass through the area! “I have been going to Porto's since the 1980's..the one in Glendale. How elated I was with having them being in Northridge where I live. The food is terrific and the lines go fast due to a tremendous quick system they have. The catering for parties has never let us down and people you have invited that never have experienced Portos are thrilled. The cakes are delicious. What I do miss is not having the individual cake slices for purchase so you can experience the taste. They only have the neapolitan, Parisian, and carrot for slices. I've seen the menu change over time and do miss some of the items.”

It had a good amount of sweetness, even though I had ordered it with 75% sweetness. The drink was called Dragon Slayer and may order this again in the near future.”

“Such a great café! I was super happy with the service — everyone was so friendly and welcoming. We tried the salmon poke bites and the popcorn chicken, and both were seriously so good! Everything was super fresh and flavorful.

We also got the crème brûlée matcha, and it was amazing — perfectly sweet and creamy. Tried Neo Sushi for AYCE and it did not disappoint. They offer three AYCE options: Lunch Special at $28.99, Late Night at $30.99, and Kids at $19.99. For adults, you can choose between the Regular Menu ($39.99) or the Premium Menu ($47.99).

The appetizer selection is solid with options like edamame, gyoza, onion rings, and shrimp tempura. For soup and salad, there are plenty of choices — we kept it classic with miso soup and cucumber salad, both fresh and well done.

Where they really shine is the sushi. We went heavy on the nigiri, and our favorites were the yuzu jalapeño yellowtail, escolar, and albacore. They also have all the classic rolls you’d expect, including spicy tuna, California rolls, avocado rolls, and yellowtail rolls.

We came right when they opened at 12:00 PM (despite Google listing a different time), and service was on point. The staff is young, vibrant, and very friendly. Our server Alex was top tier and made sure our plates kept coming until we were completely full.

I’d recommend this spot especially for groups under 5 — larger parties get an 18% gratuity added. Overall, great value, great service, and great sushi. I’ll definitely be back.”
