Sante Adairius Rustic Ales Oakland Arbor Brewpubs •
460 8th St, Oakland

“I haven't been here for many years. It's always been a Belgian beer bar. I'm not sure when Sante Adairius took it over but they've pretty much kept it the same as it was, in a good way. As I tend to drink IPA's, I was happy that they also had some on the menu. I tried the Left and Leaning, a non hazy that I really enjoyed. My friend had a very properly poured St. Bernardus (see photo). The service was great. Also on hand is a lovely, friendly Irish Setter. It was very fun when he visited our table. There's a nice $5 parking lot next door with an attendant. This alone would bring me back :)“

Tenma Beer Project Brewery • $$

“Love this place! Stopped by for the first time last weekend and was pleasantly surprised by the awesome selection of beers on tap. Had an amazing rice lager that was out of this world, and some other really great pilsners. The music was also perfect Friday night vibes. Service was awesome and we will be back! Fun little neighborhood spot. Used to be another brewery that closed down, so happy Tenma came in and revived!“

Fieldwork Brewing Company - San Leandro Brewery • $$
100A W Juana Ave, San Leandro - 8.48 miles

“Great place to hang out, have snacks or a meal. Recommend bringing a beer geek with you to sift through the multitude of beery offerings. They have an impressive selection of "old school" beers in bottles: barleywine (above average), imperial stout (multiple varieties), and Belgian dubbel (also above average). Not much for the kids to drink, though my 11 and 14 each found something decent. The Caesar salad is the best I've ever had, the pizza is decent, and the service is good.Demerits for the bench seating with no backs for the Over 40 crowd, the minimal kid drink selection, and it can be difficult to find parking nearby on the weekends.“

“Great pizza and fun drinks. Seating is what you would expect for a brewery but it's a nice environment and dog friendly! Appreciated the non alcoholic drink options and all the variety of pizzas! The pizza came out pretty quick, it's counter service but we enjoyed speaking with the lady who took our order. Would come again for the vibes and pizza! Maybe even on a nice day to sit outside!“

“Best damn brewery in SF. This place had a cozy neighborhood feel while being friendly and welcoming to guests from all over. The brewer has decades of experience and has pioneered a true onsite microbrewery atmosphere with a dynamic tap list and simple yet tasty food menu. Perfect for after work drinks or grabbing a 4 pack of freshly made cans to go!“

Gilman Brewing Company, Brewery, Berkeley, East Bay, CA Brewery • $
912 Gilman St, Berkeley - 5.42 miles

“A very stalwart beer selection. One attractive option was the sampler flight of six 5 oz pours for $18.88, which I chose. The woman who handled the order and pours was helpful, having the names of the beers printed out on a receipt and placing the samplers in their respective order clockwise, so that I could know which beers they were. Unfortunately, whatever she offered in helpfulness, she lacked in friendliness. She just seemed to want to quickly finish my order and head to do something else, even though it was quiet and I was the only customer in the pour line. That's why I only gave Gilman Brewing Company 4 stars instead of 5. I chose to try a flight of their IPAs as determined by the beertender. Here are my tasting notes on a scale of 1 to 10: *Frog on Bicycle: 5. Not much flavor. Low on suds. *Punxsutawney Phil's: 5. Lacked flavor. *Banjo Cat: 8. Strong. Clean. Smooth. Robust. Reminded me of Russian River's Pliny the Younger...but just a tad. *Missouri Lean: 6. Strong. Bitter. Hoppy. Uneven. *Quarter Panel: 7. Clean and Balanced. Decent amount of suds. *Bad Tattoo: 6. Flavorful and fruity. But lacking in suds. There was a big seating area inside, as well as a good number of tables under the cover of large canopies outside, which was where I hung out on a pleasant, balmy day. It was also very dog friendly, as fellow patrons sat nearby with their leashed besties. Also, several dog bowls for water were around. I've heard the pizza here is great, and I will definitely be back to try it and pair it with some of the stellar brews.“

“Love this place!! We use to go to the other location all the time but it's always so busy! Lemon pepper wings were so good! Crispy and tasty. Dry fried ribs and fries were 8/10 I wish the ribs had more meat. It was fatty and lots of big bone pieces. It's no my usual dry fried rib pieces that I'm use too. I wish the fries had more flavor or salt. We also got jambalaya fried rice, all for less than $40! I'll be back for the wings! They have so many flavor options. Staff is really nice. They also sell gelato! Service is really quick. We went for lunch on a weekend. We will be back soon!“

Fort Point Ferry Building Bar • $
One, Ferry Building, San Francisco - 6.73 miles

“Beer is always best fresh, and I thoroughly enjoyed my weekday lunch visit. It's basically just a kiosk take out window in front of the Ferry Building. Lots of seating, both in the shade and in the sun. They have maybe 8 taps plus a decent selection of cans. I wasn't sure what I wanted, so the bartender was nice enough to walk me through a few different beers with samples and descriptions. I settled on the ANIMAL IPA with my empanada.“

The Syndicate Brewpub Brewpubs •
1195 Evans Ave, San Francisco - 7.53 miles

“Off the path brewery that offers a variety of beers on tap. It's a great spot for a super low key evening as there is standup comedy outside when the weather is warmer or in the distillery on select nights. I've been to both spaces and it's fun, depending on the luck of the draw of comedians. The bar area can get hot and stuffy pretty fast when there's a lot of people. Note the distillery for standup is quiet and energy can be low in the evenings since there are only string lights and no music. One comedian described it as "a group gathering in the dark waiting for a vigil to a tragedy" LOL“
