“Always glad to try a brewery from the Sacramento area as the variety of breweries to pick from are great! Bike Dog is the latest one that Steve and I got to try from here and we enjoyed what we had. The beer that we had was a sour by the name of Blue Blender. This was a blueberry sour along with lemon and a floral flavor to it. I thought this was a pretty solid sour and felt like how this beer type is supposed to be like. It did have a soury, pucker effect for taste which is what I prefer to see rather than having a sour that is so sugary that it tastes like I am drinking Kool Aid or a soda and I have had my fair share of those while out and about trying various different breweries.“
“Girlfriend and I stopped by for a quick drink while waiting for our table for dinner at another restaurant nearby. The service was great, we were recommended a flight to try a few beers. Everything we tried was enjoyable. Everyone there seemed friendly. Will be back another day to try some food and more beers.“

The two bartenders/servers were friendly, kind, and full of knowledge (I'm not a beer drinker (my husband is), but they helped me find something that was to my liking). “This is a perfect, casual place for beer nerds and in my opinion, one of the top 3 best burgers in Sac….in fact it may be the best. Located in a quaint neighborhood corne, they have likely the largest and widest variety selection of foreign and domestic beers in town both on tap and in bottle and even a bottle room where you can buy hard-to-find offerings in large format. Everything they do here is done well.“

“The food was delicious! the drinks were good. Me and my friend got attended every 3min it was really nice. The staff was really friendly. They made sure we had everything we needed. The service was amazing got our food very fast. The vibe around us was nice. Definitely recommend for a fun night out with friends.“

Very tasty and prepared with love indeed.Atmo was low key at the moment but I can see the potential for this outdoor space to become a destination spot on the weekends and summer evenings.I don't eat pork, but was able to try the Belgi Beef-- so yummy and that savory waffle was the perfect crisp. I paired my meal with garlic fries that were small wedges with the perfect amount of seasoning.Service was excellent just wish the server was a little less willing to take a low jab and ask what drew me to the place, when I was having a difficult time deciding on something to eat without pork. Which there were non-pork items available, however once I mentioned why I stopped by he was kind and quick to offer even kinder words.I will definitely be back for the pretzel and beer cheese-- dairy and gluten enzymes in hand!Thank you for such an innovative food concept!“
“Amazing beers and food! They have a large selection of brews, including seltzers, and their apps and pizzas are really tasty. Very kid and pet friendly and staff are very friendly and service is excellent. Worth trying are their Detroit-style pizzas, which are a highlight, but I'd say even their regular pizzas are worth the trip.“
“Food was delicious we had a party of 9 and everyone loved it. The menu is much smaller right now than it apparently used to be; definitely very little in terms of options for children beyond pizza. Great place to watch a game and grabs drinks with higher quality food than the average pub. Waitress did hear my order wrong but they corrected it quickly and my food came out pretty fast. Would recommend.Kid-friendliness: Kids welcome but not very many food options for kids.“
“Swung by here for a beer, and the selection was very large. Knee Deep makes solid beer so there were great options in every style. Our bartender was very friendly and the per pint cost was super fair. I'm heading back for food next time I am in town.“
“I’ve been here a few times and it’s always a good experience. There is a large selection of beers (including quite a few dark beers) and many of the beers on tap are local. I’ve had many items from the food menu and I’m always pleasantly surprised by how good the food is. It’s not your average bar food. The only thing that could be improved is that sometimes the food service can be a little slow, but it’s always worth the wait.“

While it may be a bit pricey, you can upgrade your smoked meat selection to a combo meal for an additional charge, which includes a side salad, a side of your choice, and cornbread. The cornbread is a must-try; it's the best I've ever had, especially when paired with their sweet butter.Although I'm not a big fan of beer, their beers are delightful. With both indoor and outdoor seating, plus being dog and kid friendly, Urban Roots is a place I highly recommend visiting.“
