“This is a superb Mediterranean restaurant in Palo Alto. The food, service, and the ambience are all very nice. For appetizers, we ordered the eggplant which was incredibly flavorful, although a bit on the heavy side. For my main dish I ordered house combo plate, which came with a combination of chicken kebab, beef kebab, lamb and beef gyros, served with rice and a salad. Surprisingly, the chicken kebab were the best ones -- just amazing flavors, although I pretty much enjoyed everything. Very polite and courteous staff -- a definite place to return to.“

“This place is a Persian food goldmine! We did a large order of various kabobs and everything was perfection! My bro-in-law said it was the best kabob he’s had in the Bay! Hats off to the chef! The store is also clean and well cared for, with an assortment of grocery items.“

“We are from Connecticut, and during a recent trip to the Bay Area, we had the extreme good fortune to try the Afghan Awasana Kabob House. Oh my ... what an experience! The food was superb … an epicurean delight, but also plentiful, and very reasonably priced. The qabuli palow - a lamb shank dish was a standout, and the squash bolani - a stuffed flatbread was out of this world. The owner was very friendly during dinner, only to be surpassed by what happened after our dinner. Upon leaving, our car would not start. The owner offered to jump start our car. When that did not work, he offered us a ride back to the house where we were staying ... which we gratefully accepted. On the way, while we were thanking him profusely, he indicated that this was not an imposition as he routinely gave rides to his workers. I was moved to tears with his generosity. The Afghan Awasana Kabob House stimulated my palate, satiated my appetite, and above all, nourished my soul with renewed faith in the kindness of humanity. A truly memorable evening that will not soon be forgotten.“

“The wait staff is very attentive to ur needs as a customer & efficient the dish prices are what expect in SV but well worth it all food was fresh tasted top notch???. So for our starters we ordered the Cold Sampler Plate- Pita Bread, 5 dips Tzatziki, Hummus, Dolma, Babba Ghanoush, Kalamatiano, Melitzanosalata; 4 Cheese Tiropita made a little Unorthodox to the usual Croissant dough instead of Pilo dough tasted fabulous-Feta,Goat, Parmesan, Mozzarella Cheese. ? Gyro Plate-Lamb,Beef,Red Onion, Tzatziki, Salad, Rice scoop, the meat was cooked to perfection ???. “I'm a local. This place never fails. It's family operated and they really take pride in the food they make. Service is 10/10 always no matter how busy they are. They make you feel like you're important as a customer. Might be a little tough to eat inside with a very large crew since there isn't much room but I usually just get my gyro to go anyway. It's my favorite gyro in the Tri-City area.“

“Just had lunch here. First of all, very clean, good service; it looks like a family-owned business, which I appreciate. Food-wise, I had a chicken souvlaki, and my friend had a gyro platter; we both loved our meals. Definitely going back--highly recommended!“

“This is place is a popular spot for many office catered lunchs but the secret is to come in person and enjoy the greek ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating. The meats and fish fresh are always the best just off the grill. I'm health conscious and like to find meat alternatives and the Salmon Wrap is my favorite, a unique and delicious option I haven't seen in most greek restaurants. Although not on the menu, ask for aioli sauce, the addition of the aioli sauce enhances the overall flavor profile, adding a creamy and savory element to complement the freshness of the salmon. I'm come pretty regularly and the consistency by Ali and his staff of food and service is amazing.“

“Lot of amazing vegetarian options. Soy chaaps are amazing and one must definitely try those. I also loved their paneer quesadillas. The samosa chaat was also good. The naan is good but small so you'd need to order 2 for one gravy item. One issue I've had with pickup is they've always missed one item so do check the packed order to ensure everything is there. No complaints about the food though.“
