I really liked Patxi's Pizza in Palo Alto when they took the time to actually make the pizza as ordered. More than once they have messed up our order. (Requested double-cut , got regular cut; asked for extra sauce, which was not added. Another time they gave us the the wrong pizza...tough getting sausage (I love their fennel sausage) when I ordered a veggie deep dish for our guests.) Other times it was perfect and super good! However, lately they will not answer their phones and do not allow online orders. Their website says they are open so...what gives Patxi's? Do you not want my business?! This is supremely frustrating...so, I will no longer waste my time trying to order from Patxi's Palo Alto. With Covid still prevalent and being in a high risk category, dining in is not an option for us. Don't waste your time, there are several other great options for takeout in Palo Alto.

This location is permanently closed. They have just not updated the information on Yelp.

This is our favorite for deep dish pizza. There is what seems like a pound of toppings and cheese on every pizza. But the flavors are robust and the cornmeal crust is done to perfection and not overly oily. We usually do delivery and they are prompt and accurate in their estimated delivery times. Plan ahead because the pizzas do take awhile to come.

We love Chicago style deep dish pizza and honestly Patxi's does a great job with this. Love the Matt Cain (have had it a couple of times). On superbowl Sunday, placed an order through 'Slice', their online order processor and everything went well. I got a text saying the pizza would be ready in about 50-60 minutes (which seems about right for deep dish and a busy superbowl sunday) as well as a confirmation email. Arrive at the restaurant and it's closed, and there's another guy standing out there equivalently confused. He also ordered for the game, and came by to pick up. We both left, as there was no one there on 2/13/22 @ 2 pm and the restaurant had apparently closed but forgot to stop it's online order processing. I texted 'Slice' their order processor and they apologized and linked a $5 coupon for future purchase that had to be completed in 30 days. Felt like a "Sorry not Sorry" type of response. Seems like they might be severely short staffed or something else may have come up forcing the business to shut down on one of the busier days for pizza orders! That being said, it might have been a failure or management or the order processor to let their customers know that the business couldn't do business on that day. I would recommend that, during the pandemic, if you order online, you confirm over the phone prior to relying on 'Slice' and Patxi's to give accurate info. Honestly, it might be prudent NOT to place orders online as this process in not buttoned up well. The $5 discount for future purchases was a bit of a slap in the face due to the amount of time wasted and last minute struggle to get pizza for superbowl party an hour before game time.

We ordered from here online after not being able to reach them by phone. Turns out the business is closed! Yelp is showing this is still open and nothing indicated a closure on their phone line. We were charged for our order. I had to contact grubhub to get a refund. Best not to visit here.

We went here A random friday night for outdoor dinning. We started off with the spinach artichoke dip and calzones which were good. Although, I was not a fan of the reg pizzas here. Was not a fan of the sauce or the cheese. We didn't get a chance to try the deep dish so I'm going to give this place one more shot when I'm back for the deep dish in the future.

I placed an online order. They charged my card and sent a confirmation. Two hours later it wasn't here and After trying to call the restaurant multiple times, and no answer, I got a text message saying my order was canceled. Terrible customer service.

I've been to Patxi's many times, but this was my first time coming back after a few years. FLAVOR (4/5): Matt Cain Deep Dish: The Matt Cain is still good and is my go-to pick. The crust is cooked well, but there's a little too much cheese in my opinion. And don't forget to ask for honey to put on the crust! SERVICE (3.5/5): Service was the weakest part of my dining experience. As other reviews have mentioned, service is not the best - although to be fair I believe they're short-staffed. There were some awkward moments where I was unsure if we were ever going to get our drinks or order. I guess if I was to put my finger on it, communication was lacking? TAKEAWAYS: If you want good deep dish pizza, Patxi's is the way to go. It's a little expensive, but I have yet to find a restaurant that serves better deep dish in the area. I would go on the weekends in the evening if you want a better ambience (I went at noon on a Tuesday and there weren't a lot of people).

Pizza was great but the atmosphere seemed a bit dull. Oh and the chicken wings weren't that good. That takes half star away. Would still go back.

Sausage roll was so good!! And don’t even get me started on the pesto pizza. Definitely going back!

Unfortunately, the customer service was not it. I ordered a deep dish pizza and a starter and waited for over an hour and did not get the food. I ordered a drink and that did not come out until 30 minutes after. At the hour and ten mark, I had went to close my tab and realized they had not even started my pizza. This was a very bad experience and do not wish this service upon anybody.

I was really looking forward to the pizza I ordered for just myself that cost $87.07. They charged my card and they closed an hour and a half ago, and won't answer my calls, so I can only assume they aren't coming. I don't recall any other time this has happened to me.I just ordered food from a different place because I don't know if they are still coming or not. I can take the high price as long as they deliver and the pizza is good. But they didn't even deliver it, after charging me.

Just okay. If you're missing Chicago deep dish pies, this isn't really the place. Don't get me wrong, their pies aren't bad, but don't come close to the buttery/oily rich -crust and sauce pies of the windy city.

I get there for a preordered pickup, 30 minutes after ordered, for them to tell me it will take and extra hour because they're doing a catering order. So you're telling me you can't complete one pizza in the midst of that. Priority isn't small customer, obviously money driven greedy little place. Will never get my service or my recommendation. Go to the one in San Carlos. Much better over these guys who obviously don't have their priorities straight

Having previously lived in Chicago, where I feasted on the real deal OG deep dish, I was not optimistic that I would find somewhere in the Bay Area that could compare. I'm happy to say that Patxi's proved me wrong. While nothing can compare to the deep dish in Chicago, Patxi's is as close as I've tasted. My wife and I went for an early dinner and were seated immediately. We chose to eat outside--the outside dining area is nice and well kept. Through our whole experience, the waiter was very attentive and professional. We started out with some Patxi's meatballs. These were great and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a starter. They are served in a pool of sauce inside of a cornbread (I think) crust. The meatballs tasted great. For our pizza, we got the 10" Matt Cain deep dish. Like I said before, it almost rivaled the deep dish we used to have in Chicago. Served piping hot, the cheese all melty, filled with great meats. I have no complaints. Along with the starter, it was plenty of food for us. For anyone looking for a real deep dish experience in the Bay, Patxi's is a sure bet.
