Amazing experience!!! first time eating at Madre Maiz, great customer service, restaurant very clean. I order a Carne Asada torta that was very delicious, definitely will be going back to try the Birria tacos.
Came here for a late night dinner for the first time. The staff members were all so friendly. We ordered a birria taco, a carne asada taco, carne asada burrito, chips and salsa. Everything was so delicious. The tacos came on blue corn, and the burrito had just the right portions of each of its ingredients. Even the green and red salsas that came with the burrito were so flavorful that we used all of the salsa cups they gave us to go.The chips and salsa were also insanely good. The tortilla chips were cooked fresh - light and crispy. The pico de gallo was so flavorful, it was likely the most flavorful pico we've ever had. We wiped our plates clean, and look forward to coming again. For anyone interested, yes they sell tortillas in their store.

Everything we've tried here was delicious! The kids loved the asada fries, the potato tacos were crispy and yummy, and we love the burrito bowl. Their birria was delicious too and the frescas were sweet and refreshing. I've been telling all my family and friends to try this place. It's one of our regular spots now!

Don't pass this place up, it's absolutely delicious and has customer service just as great. You can smell how amazing this place is as you walk up to it. My boyfriend had the Los Especiales Birria Taco and I had the Los Especiales Pollo Asado Taco. Both tacos were filled perfectly and it tasted so fresh and authentic. We also shared the Esquite cup and it was definitely the best one I've ever had. And I've had a lot throughout my life. Get the green salsa! I'm not sure what they make it out of but it's so light, fresh and flavorful. I wish they sold this so I could put it on all my food at home. Everyone working there is very kind. I didn't feel rushed when deciding what to order and it seemed like everyone working there was genuinely happy to be there. The environment was super clean and comfortable inside and outside. This is officially one of our favorite spots to go to. My mouth is already watering for more.

Great small service Taqueria with higher quality meat selections like skirt steak and filet for your tacos and burritos. There is a nice parking lot and it's directly across the street from Best Buy and Ulta so you and your spouse can get some shopping done before or after :)

Delicious. The birria tacos were juicy and tasty, the chicken tacos as well. We all enjoyed the Asada Burrito and Carnitas fries. The star of the whole meal was the green salsa. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

I had an absolutely outstanding experience at Madre Maiz! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. The staff was very welcoming and the food was divine. Every taco was bursting with flavor. Will definitely be returning regularly! My new go-to taco spot!
I'm all in on Madre Maiz! We trying something new each time we go but for us it's all about the specials on the left side of the menu. This is where they really differentiate themselves from other taquerias.Don't get me wrong, I've had their street tacos - but their special's menu is where you need to order from! The Arrachera is an easy choice and the Birria has become one of my all time favorites. We usually order 3 tacos and get one of the fries with meat. This way we can get multiple proteins.What's cool about this place is the the entire kitchen can be seen from the register. You can see that they're constantly prepping and cooking everything fresh. The food has always been hot for us, doesn't matter if it's a rush or or in-between the rushes too.We mostly take out but there's a place to eat inside and outside too. It's safe and comfortable if you decide to stay and eat.Let me know if I've steered you in the right direction.
We live in Pasadena and found this taqueria through a friend suggestion and wow were they right!We ordered the Fillet mignon taco, the Camerones (shrimp) and carnitas chilorio tortas and wow what amazing flavors we experienced.The fillet mignon melts in your mouth and boy do they give you a generous portion!The shrimp taco is the best we have had!Finally the carnitas chilorio also melts in your mouth but wow a torta like no other full of flavor and a great combination of goodness!!Can’t wait to come back tomorrow to try more menu items…Yum!Oh and almost forgot, the service we received at this taqueria was superb. I love madre maiz - it’s soo good that I literally go once a week. My favorite taco place in Southern California. The staff are amazing and incredibly sweet. There are a few tables inside and some outside with umbrellas for a nice sunny day. They hand make the blue corn tortillas and they are delicious! And they fill them to the brim with birria (or whatever meat of choice, but the birria is my favorite)! The tacos dorados de papa are perfectly fried and crispy, the fries are beautifully salted, and the guacamole is to die for.

This place sucked big time, it was a big let down. We were really starving and I was looking to get carne asada fries. The ones here were not the best. The meat was dry the fries were ok, they don’t add any sour cream or guacamole. If you ask for any sour cream they are in sample containers, they add a lot of cilantro
