We've rounded up Paso Robles' top Mexican spots for you to try.
“We're local Paso folks and this is a favorite dining place. It's small, family owned, provides friendly service and very excellent Mexican food, as good as it gets in Paso Robles. We're well traveled in the southwestern US and in Mexico. We know it when we taste it. This is it.“
“This is our first time at Finca, as we have heard a lot about it but as of yet have not been able to take advantage of an opportunity to dine there. We were pleasantly surprised, we had the Baja shrimp taco, very well seasoned, a little spicy, and very flavorful! The biggest surprise was the mashed potato and gruyere tacos! They had a spicy and creamy sauce drizzled over them, definitely going back!“
“We had just come into town and were looking for something "close" to our hotel. Google turned up with Off the 46 Mexican Bar & Grill and it was one of the most pleasant surprises we have ever had from a Google recommendation. Terrific service! Being newbies, we asked for recommendations and the owner suggested the Three Taco plates (it was Taco Tuesday, after all), and we just said "yes" to his suggestions. Very generous chips and salsa, and the three street tacos were the perfect size. All selections were excellent, and the service was friendly and first rate. The only "knock" if you will is that it is a narrow bar and grill with limited seating. None the less the next time we come to Paso we will be heading up the road to the Off the 46 Mexican Bar and Grill!“
“A new treasure in Paso Robles. This was our second visit in one week ! Lots of delicious food to choose from- eggs, sandwiches, salads $ soup- I had a veggie omelet that was fabulous. Everything is made from scratch- the service & servers are the best. They are open for Breakfast and lunch, plenty of tables and plenty of parking. Very wholesome foods- I highly recommend AGAPE.“
“We found Orale' by chance while shopping in Paso Robles. We decided on a late lunch. My wife ordered the taquitos and I ordered the chili verde. We both had an agua fresca. Everything was delicious!!! My wife's taquitos were plump and piping hot. The rice and beans served with our meals were both pleasing and authentic. The agua frescas were good and homemade. Now, my chili verde....that was another story. It was fantastic, flavorful, tasty and spicy in a very good way. This is chili verde that my grandmother made for my picky grandfather and that I miss so much. Wow!!! What a treat. The next time we're in Cambria, I will have to find an excuse to suggest to my wife that we make the drive to Paso Robles for lunch/chili verde. Hopefully she will respond, "Orale!!!"'“
“We stopped by this small Mom & Pop restaurant on NYR for dinner, but they had stopping seating as it was almost closing time. They allowed us to order to go and we sat at the bar for a drink while waiting for our food. We got to talking to one of the owners, so friendly and great convo. Our food came out and she let us eat our to-go order at the bar even though they were closed. I'm super picky about Mexican food and this place did not disappoint. I ordered the flautas con papa plate and everything was delicious. My friends had the tacos and we all cleared our plates. The food was THAT GOOD. Definitely will go back when I'm in town again.“
“This place was so yummy for breakfast!! I tried the pancakes and the chorizo scrambled eggs. Everything was very tasty and everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was very fast and food got brought out very quickly. They were also quick to accommodate our large group and pushed a few tables together. Our waitress was so nice and very sweet and attentive as well. The decor is plain and nothing special but the food makes up for it. The churros were amazing too!! Overall this is a great spot for breakfast and we will def be coming back when we are in town.“
“4 1/2 stars. Stopped here for quick lunch based on their high ratings. Menu is vast, so something here for all tastes. Our foursome had a variety of sandwiches and all were great. Son really liked the French fries. Outdoor seating available too. This is a nice spot that I'd describe as an old fashioned, local grill. Lots of Mexican dishes also available. The day we went they had all you can eat beef tacos as a special.“
“Stopped in 7pm or so on a taco Tuesday. It was empty of customers. Service was ok. Felt a bit rushed ordering tacos at the counter. Overall just ok. The grilled shrimp taco was good with a mango salsa and but the chicken taco was lacking flavor. Give me some sodium or something to add some flavor! The salsa bar was being tore down so not a lot of flavor help available there. Not a place I would rush back to - but I would come again to try something else and not on taco Tuesday. The gal working in the front was cheery and helpful and kind. The man. Not so much. Pricing was decent. Tacos, the smaller size ran about $3 which is standard arid here. The menu board is bright and cheery and easy to read. Prices clear.“
“Hole in the wall place, great staff. Very pricey for Mexican food in a shady area. Bowl of arbondiga soup 20 bucks. Not too good, couldn't eat it. I ordered avocado slices, and got half avocado with half of it inedible due to back bruises on it.“
“Absolutely delicious food!Home cooked at its finest. Had the enchiladas mix, yum!Chile rellenos covered in salsa- the best relleno we have had.Now the birria tacos and that consume!!! OH WOW! I will definitely be back! Thank you so much!!!!Tacos Doña Mari is the definition of home cooked meals.“
“Love to eat from this place! They got a lot of varieties of foods to eat!! It's hard to choose sometimes but everything on the menu looks very good. And tried a few of them myself and never disappoint! Highly recommend this place to everyone!!“
“10/10. Amazing food and service. It's definitely an American version of Latin dishes but this Mexican approves! Chips with guacamole and salsa are always a must! And the salsas were delicious, unfortunately not spicy at all but very tasty. Our short rib meals were very savory. We also tried the pozole which did not disappoint.“
“The food is good, what I like is the taste of the meat for the head tacos, it tastes very good, it doesn't taste like old meat like in other places, the man of this taqueria found a way to eliminate that horrible taste, the service is more or less because the place is very small and sometimes you arrive and there is nowhere to sit and for health and hygiene due to the COVID I better not go in when it is like this since the people who mostly attend on weekends do not use face masks despite Being crowded at the tables may not give them an idea that it is not right because most of them are people belonging to a very beautiful part of Mexico where a language of the community is still preserved, rather a dialect, I mean Oaxaca how beautiful of them who live or meet many of them in certain places“
“We ate here as a group of 21 at two different tables and were given only one server! Though the service was slow, it was impeccable and our server, Olivia H, was so personable and congenial that we really didn't mind. She got every order correct, including all checks! The food was delicious and hot! We are on a Keto diet, and Olivia ensured that what we ordered was exactly what we needed and even suggested that we order some things ala carte because it would be cheaper! Highly recommend this dining facility!!!“
“You wouldn’t think it but this place has the best cheeseburgers in Paso Robles! I’m not kidding… hand patted 100% beef burgers! My wife says they are the best! Juicy… large… perfect burger!Try it for yourself! Look at the photo… real images don’t lie! I do a double patty!Kid-friendliness: Open and easy!“
“Dined here tonight. The food was delicious, food came to our table quickly and 2 male servers that helped us were so kind and accommodating. We ordered the shrimp tostada, fried tilapia plate, and an asada taco with rice and beans. All were super yummy and I loved the green avocado/cilantro salsa that they bring to the tableWe are Paso locals and are excited to frequent this establisment!“
“The food is excellent but we never, not once, get the guacamole we paid for. We've always ordered by delivery. Even when I put a special note of, please don't forget the guacamole, still not there. This is not the delivery persons fault either. I believe it is the restaurants.“
“This place just keep getting better. I love the daily specials, especially Taco Tuesday, of course! They have a good amount of seating, fast service, and really good food. And to top it off, they have legit al pastor from a trompo, not stuff that was just fried on the grill. I come here almost every week, and now I have another great reason.“
