“The Oaks in Lake Wildwood has wonderful ambience, light and fun atmosphere. The chef does a beautiful job. His name is Chad new management is amazing and all residents are very pleased with the changes love their calamari and shrimp tacos. Also fish and chips are very good and their truffle fries, we eat there quite often“
“This restaurant never had failed me. I have been eating her for 6 years and my favorite things to get is the pizza or the wings there are a bunch of different flavors such as buffalo, barbecue, and ranch . The burgers are amazing to the Northridge burger is probably my to go to. The dessert is amazing my favorite is probably the New York cheesecake if you are feeling chocolatey the double chocolate cake is also really good. The service here is really great the waitresses are fast and very helpful. The cooks also do an impeccable job on the food. All of the servers are friendly to customers and all very hard workers. All of the servers try their best and want to make you feel as happy as you can. When you first walk in, you were greeted by a server and you're seated at either a booth or a table only adults are sitting at the bar if they want. If you have a little kids that wanna run around and play there is a game room for them to hang out and play and there are a bunch of variety's of games. Such as air hockey and basketball there is also a pool table but if you want to play the pool table, there's also call machines and a candy machine.“
“This isn't the fastest place you're going to get a burger. They are always made to order so I usually expect about a 15 minute wait. But I have to say, it's possibly the best burger in the county! Their signature cheese skirt is a bit much for me, so I started just ordering no cheese. Personally I always have them add bacon (real bacon, not that microwave crap you get at fast food joints) and grilled jalapeños. They never skimp on any of the toppings (the base sauces are mayo and mustard so if you want to change that up just ask). I also usually add a side of fries or jojos. Again, they are made to order and are well seasoned and piping hot.The atmosphere is fairly sterile, but there are a few tables if you're on the road and want to eat in. It is sharing a building with a gas station, so I don't expect a ton of atmosphere. But it definitely makes up for it in their food. They also have hot dogs, chicken sandwiches, Krispy krunch fried chicken and tenders, and a breakfast menu. Prices are pretty reasonable for today and IMHO the quality they put out typically.“
“Feels like home cooked food. I really enjoy the family vibe. I'm a very picky eater and I don't like my food to come over seasoned, I like to add my own salt and pepper if I prefer. The waitress was very outgoing and professional. I will be returning.“
“The best pasties in Grass Valley! You won't find a better pastie anywhere, including the surrounding area. Having been in Cornwall to try the original, I can tell you a thing or two about delicious, authentic pasties. I've tried them all, and the authenticity is prevalent and bold. A statement is made every time they fold the delicate dough over the scrumptious filling.“
“Always excellent food, service, & atmosphere. Fresh juices and mimosas and coffees. I'm both my friend and I had egg scrambles that were delicious. No reservations taken so get there early and be prepared to wait a bit if mornings of Friday or Saturday.“
“This little gem on Mill Street in Grass Valley is a must try! We ate outside and were served fairly promptly. They're accommodating with umbrella placement and special requests. (Yes, we went there. ) I had a fritatta and it was so tasty. Everyone else was happy with their meals. Good fun.“
“First time at this place. The food was good but not great by a long shot, it was extremely salty and barely edible. I did not finish it because it was too salty. Did the chef even taste this stuff before he sent it out, I don't think so. The service could have been a little better, there was long gaps between seeing the waitstaff. The atmosphere was nice being in an old hotel.“
“I was dying for a steak while working up in Grass Valley. I asked Siri to find me the closest steakhouse, and The Willow was definitely the closest. I read a few of the reviews and I would agree with many of them. First of all, Tyler appears to run a tight ship and customer service is A plus! On Friday and Saturday night they serve ribeye but the cuts were 14 ounces and I was looking for 6 to 8 ounces, so I went with the New York. I asked for medium rare on the medium side. The waitress commented I fully understand that and delivered a perfectly cooked and seasoned New York strip. Salad, barbecued beans and garlic bread come standard with the steak and that's how I placed my order. They make several of their salad dressings in the house and I chose the blue cheese. It was very good but with the amount of iceberg lettuce that was "the salad", I would've liked a little more. The barbecue beans were OK, nothing special. One of the remarkable things I experienced, was when asking about a couple of their Zinfandel's that were on the menu compared to the Rodney Strong Cabernet, Tyler brought me three tastings of all three wines to make a choice. I find this to be exceptional service typically not found at some of the highest end steakhouses. Bottom line is if you're in the Grass Valley, Nevada City area and would like a reasonably priced steak at one of the local restaurants with a wonderful history, I certainly would direct you to The Willo! Enjoy.“
“Spectacular. Went for my father's birthday and they had so many nice touches. But more importantly the food is beautiful, creative and exceptionally well executed. I grew up in Nevada County but currently live in Napa. I was so pleased to experience a restaurant in Nevada County that rivals many of the best restaurants in Napa. The service, the family vibe, and everything was just wonderful. Wholeheartedly recommend.“
