“WOW, what a cool place to discover for a lunch or early dinner. Pasties, international meals inside an incredible pastry puff - we tried the Irish, the Russian, the Italian, and the American. All were outstanding, tasty, filling, and delicious - worth a stop if you like fun new eats!“

Boa Vista Orchards Gluten Free • $$
2952 Carson Rd, Placerville

“This market was a great find for me. Only been to this area a couple of times. We were visiting friends and they took us here for the first time on Saturday afternoon around 4pm. There was plenty of parking and it wasn't busy or crowded. The market is clean and very open. All items looked great and I wish we were able to try some things so we could buy it....There is a small outbuilding that is designated for "tasting" but the employee who was there wasn't very friendly and we didn't really feel welcomed. We tried one thing and then left the tasting building. (We were a little disappointed at how this area was being operated). The rest of the market was great! There is a bargain table that had some amazing deals and I was told by my friend (she's a local) this is the area to shop first! There are locally made wines and cinders. They even have a tasting if you want to pay for it. We actually purchase a bottle of wine (Blackberry apple? Yum!) and two ciders (pomegranate and blackberry -Yum). We definitely want to come back here when we in the area again.“

Flourless Bakery Bakery • $$
451 Main St, Placerville

“I have celiac and dearly miss all baked goods. My best friend bought me a plethora of goodies from Flourless. They were all amazing!!!! If I didn't know they were GF I would've been worried they were after a bite. That's how good they are. You can't tell that they are gf. They don't look it and they don't taste it. I had the pizza dough, scones, cake, tart, meringue thingy, mousse thingy, puffs, eclairs. He has savory and sweet options. But my absolute favorite was the bear claw!!! When was the last time a celiac had a fresh fluffy bear claw??? Even some gluten eaters remarked at how great they were and that they couldn't tell it was gf. Please make a yeast raised glazed donut. I don't know if you already do but I will make a trip from San Diego to buy a dozen. Thank you!!!! PS - do you ship that pizza dough because that was amazing?!!“

Gracie's Coffee and Bakeshop Bakery • $$
681 Main St l3, Placerville

“I walked into Gracie’s hoping for a small last minute cake for my best friends court house ceremony and the ladies were so helpful and easy to communicate with. I ordered a vanilla cake with strawberry filling. You can’t tell from the photo, but they added sparkles to the icing which made it look simple and elegant. Cake was perfect and tasted delicious!“

“We stumbled upon this cute shop as we were walking down Main Street Placerville. We wanted something to quench the thirst without sugar! This was the place! I had their Lavender Green Tea iced no sweetener and a mini egg burrito. It's very small so perfect for a snack. Only bummer was there was hardly any egg, mostly potatoes and sausage. Nice mild salsa gave it the flavor it needed. I would recommend but maybe ask for extra egg? Service was quick and friendly! I would definitely come back!“

“What a lovely accident. I was passing through and stopped to grab a bite to eat. On a Tuesday, I was able to walk in and be seated right away. Was met by great staff who was very kind and welcoming. The ambiance was set as a charming farmhouse. And the star of the experience was the food. It was fresh and well seasoned. I munched on the Cajun chicken sandwich, with a couple of modifications. (Don't hate me, but I'm a wuss when it comes to spice) highly recommend! I also had the clam chowder and focaccia! Yum yum yum!!! If you're in the area come here for good eats and good people!“

“Thank you to the staff for accommodating our dog on the deck. The sausage gravy was a little under-seasoned in my opinion and we prefer our bacon more crispy, but the sourdough was excellent and the pancakes and syrup were definitely a highlight. Great portion sizes.“

Espresso Yourself Coffee Shops • $
1291 Broadway, Placerville

“I thought the shop is just adorable and I love my ice caramel macchiato. It was a nice stop before I head over to Lake Tahoe. Mostly it works as a drive through, very tiny place so the person you order from makes your drink as well. I recommend going here.“

“Very narrow restaurant with a spectacular atmosphere with music and tvs playing scenes of ireland and nature. Nice alcohol options. But dont get the steaks, I went with my father, who got the filet Mignon. It was a medium thickness and quite small it also came with 2 peeled and stemed carrots 4 brussel sprouts cut in half. I had the shepherds pie which came with garlic mashed potatoes and green goddess salad. My pie was great but the steak was somehow full of gristle. But for the main draw being fondue the pies are a though worthy option.“

“Friendly, affordable and great ambiance. Easily the liveliest place around on a weekend night, and the pizza we had was tasty and well above our expectations as travelers. Nicely sprawling outdoor scene with live music (when we were there) behind the little building where they take your orders. Shout out to the hard working staff who got us our pies- with smiles - in next to no time despite beginning to run out of pizza!“
