“As a Chicago transplant, I can’t say I miss sports bars. But I do miss the local neighborhood ones! Despite its almost punk rock aesthetic coupled with its pool table and arcade games, it’s incredibly welcoming and I only wish I lived closer to it to be one of its regulars there. You get people from all walks of life; which is sign of a great bar really.Simple and easy drinks with a solid happy hour what more could you want? Well how about some decent snacks? The food menu here is more than decent and so inexpensive; I come here just to have a Chicago dog more than I want a drink! I also love the they have two very popular tiki drinks as well! There’s plenty of room around; from chilling at the bar area, sitting in the spacious dining room, or standing at the high tops in the game room. (Won’t spoil the surprise, but there’s a very fun arcade game that everyone wants to win, that I’m sure so many have already seen). And if you love sports and miss our favorite home teams, I can’t think of anywhere else I’d want to watch them. That includes watching them at home.Vegetarian options: Vegan hot dogs!Parking: Long Blvd that had only 2 hours of parking until 6pm. Then you’re all gooooodWheelchair accessibility: Easy entry and table seating.“
“It’s a worthy dive bar with a frigging delicious hamburger. We went for the atmosphere having walked by on our vacation to Manhattan Beach and had to go back. If you love an authentic old bar and are happy with a great cheeseburger and chips and can overlook a sticky table and a bit scary bathroom situation, this is your spot. A breath of fresh air from our usual bougie eating in South Bay. Did I mention the burger was delicious??“
“Busy bar! The staff there are friendly, busy and fast. Our food came in less than ten minutes after we ordered world famous cheeseburgers. They were delicious and came with very fresh pepperoncinies and a bag of chips. Medium amount of drink options but better than average. There is a pool table and several TVs around the bar inside. There is also ample patio room and is private with a bamboo fence (private but not good for people watching). One small downside was that the bathrooms were tiny. If we return to this area again we will be eating here for sure !Parking: Better to park some where else and stop on the way to the boardwalk“
“the kibitz room is really funny to me, I don't know what it is it's just kind of funny that it exists you know, like it's such a different vibe than the deli. they let me bring in a big thermos after giving it the smell test and making sure it wasn't full of a gallon of vodka, so I was lucky I wasn't carrying around my usual gallon of vodka. the world is going to hell in a handbasket. one time a server did not believe me that I wanted the pickled herring, I guess I'm hard to read, but I promise I never make jokes like that, if I order it it means I want it. I respect that server though. there was one time where there was a server there and he lived in unfortunate circumstances, but he did me a favor which makes him honest in my eyes. I just love the cast of people there, including the ones that are only there for a bit because they screwed up Rodney bingenheimer's order. hahaha“
“One of my favorite dive bars in town. Inexpensive drinks ($11 for my Ford's Gin 'n tonic) and excellent service from the bartenders. On a slow night Justin can easily keep up with drink orders while beating you at darts. Dodgers and Lakers games usually on the TVs. Last call at 1:30 am most nights. There's one scruffy pool table in the bar, one dart board, and the men's room has more graffiti than most men's rooms. It gets packed Thursdays through Saturdays. Plenty of friendly people in the bar. Very diverse crowd. One night as I was walking up, a woman stumbled out and threw up right at the entrance. Everyone just stepped over it to get in. The only thing this place is missing is good bar food, but you're welcome to bring your own. Monty's is next door where you can get a good plant-based burger, or you can go across the street to Carl's Jr and get a Star Burger for half the price. Loads of excellent Korean food nearby. It would be nice if someone opened a taco stand in the parking lot at the corner. No parking, of course, and this part of K-Town can be tough to find a spot. Best to Uber/Lyft anyway. Have a good time here! Cheers!“
“A truly hidden gem. Went with some friends while waiting for a dinner reservation, and were thrilled with our experience. The atmosphere is lovely, they have board games for patrons, and they had free snacks. Would make it my regular spot if I lived closer.“
“Man ; I was looking everywhere for some fries to share with my bf so we could eat before we watched the stars on the beach . Everywhere on the beach , the cooks were out , I'm like damn . I finally go to this place and they only have nachos , I'm like dang , I really want fries . And the hostess named Cat or Kat , she was like try the slip , and I was like , " bro they didn't want to serve me ." She was like , " ??? Why ?" I was like , " right ?". Dude she was like , " holdup , I'll give you fries ." I'm thinking , " ????" She goes to her in n out bag and gave me a little portion of fries bro . I was shook because there are so many people who just don't care to be nice like that . Dude, I should had paid her at least a five or something but I had my card only . Because of her hospitality and her random act of kindness , I will always now advertise this place for free from now on . She really made my day , I really won't forget that kind gesture . I know it may not mean much but everytime someone is nice to me like that , I never forget them . I can't drink and neither am I fan of bars but this is one bar I'm willing to go to with my friends who visit me from other states. Thank you so much C/Kat , you made my night ! Going to tell my ma and my friends about you and the menu you had made ! 10/10 vibes , you should definitely go here if you want nice atmosphere to vibe in !“
“It is what it is. And this place IS !! I ain't been to a bar Ina long time...my best decision involving alcohol that I've made Ina while. Michelle tended bar..well. In addition she happened to be beautiful. This is your late 70's..80's type "dive bar". Music was loud and good. Prices were great. This place found me. Moved into new place last month and this wonderful throwback bar is 1 block away!! Can't wait to return.???3 thumbs up.“
“I visited back in Fall 2023, so while this review is outdated, I remember the experience. If you asked me for a high-end afternoon tea recommendation, this place would be my first inclination. I took my sister here for her birthday in 2023 at $109 per person for afternoon tea; hotel valet was $17. I was pleased with the ambience, aesthetics, and service at this price point. A glass of champagne was included with the tea, strawberries & cream, and food.“
“Stopped by for a great mai tai! This is a nice dive bar with great decorations to fit the Mai tai theme and drinks. It's cozy and lively. The service was great and the drinks even better. They also have some TVs and a couple of pool tables to pass the time. Great place to meet up with some friends for drinks!“
“I'd eat the chicken tenders everyday if I lived here, they're like nothing I've ever had. Absolutely get a basket of these if you're here. The server Dragon (yes that's his name) is the best server I think ive had. He has an amazing personality. Being a 49ers fan helped too. Lol.“
“This is an awesome unpretentious Uber casual dive bar. A great place to relax, play pool, or table ice hockey, drink beer and eat some good bar food. I esp liked the wings. No draft beer, but the bottled options were ice cold!Good times if you come with good friends. During football season…it’s Go Cleveland Browns!VictorB“
“Went for lunch and sat outside. The outdoor tables were super comfortable and it’s a lovely area to sit. We got the lunch sandwiches with mac salad and the portion was huge!!! Sandwiches were great and for such a good price. Definitely could share one with two people. Only issue was it was a little confusing between ordering online and with the bartender, but service was good!“
“Nostalgic games a quarter each play pinball more . Shooting games, old school mario games , dj different themes different day.Open floor plan tables in the sides of walls.Parking street parking nearby if you make it their on time elmwood and rosewood.Spent 1 to 2 hours just felt like a kid again playing games I used to.“
“Nice little pub that I could walk to from the Holiday Inn Express and was able to watch football there. They don't serve food but I stepped next door to Domino's and grabbed a pizza and brought it back over to eat. All good and I will return.“
“If you like hidden dive bars, this is the place. I'm from the Midwest, and Lei Aloha reminds me of those taverns that working class folks went to after work. Drinks are stiff and affordable. We went there on a whim, after lunch nearby. Jukebox takes credit cards. Vending machine in the rear for snacks and flatscreens to watch the games. Plenty of parking in rear. We will be back.“
“Been here a few times, usually to shoot pool. The cook there is really cool, he said " u hungry? How about some Ensenada style fish taco's?"The fish was fresh, and crispy. Huge portions. The salsa was bomb, spicy. Super legit tacos, and I'm a classicly french trained chef, 20 yrs in the best resorts and restaurants in Los Angeles/Orange County. Don't sleep on this cook and his dedication to putting out nothing but his best! Come check him out“
“Twas a nice an spacious setting for a good bash if old, the brews floweth the liquor poureth, many a maiden danced, games of skill an chance were played on green tables with balls an pockets. One may even throw tiny arrows at the wall if they please. Thyn must say... "Twas a night to remember" ( insert bilbo baggins quote) but for real I really like this place, bartenders are friendly an run a tight ship, they have pool tables darts and shuffle board. PS the pool scene can be competitive but that's why I go there, if you like pool, you'll find good competition there on Fridays“
“Really nice place, you’re allowed dogs inside which I loved. I didn’t have a dog but there was a dog there and she was lovely! Watched some of the game there well we ate some breakfast. We also went and had lunch the next day too that’s how much we loved the tacos!“
“They have excellent Philly Cheese Steaks! Homemade chips are bomb, as well as their tots. I got a chicken taco salad bowl last time for dinner, it really hit the spot. They serve beer and wine (no liquor), but as far as bars go, the food is great. Definitely reccomend.“
“Love this bar. Linda is probably one of the best bartenders in Hollywood. It's primarily metal but opens the door for a lot of alternative music. Parking isn't great but you should take an Uber or a get a designated driver if you plan on grabbing drinks in Hollywood.“
“My first introduction to Bac Street was walking from my house to Thirsty Club and I was a regular until my last interaction... anyway, Bac Street is closer to me than Thirsty or Paddy's but it closed down for a long while due to pandemic. They're open now and just as neighborhood friendly as before. The only reason I'm giving 4 in lieu of 5 stars is because they don't have any snacks. No pretzels, chips or nuts. So come FULL.“
“I'll put it to you like this, on the night Black Panther came out in theatres the late great Chadwick Bozeman spent the evening with friends at the dime. Now think about that, he could've been anywhere in the world but he was at the dime. My point is this is the kind of place that the biggest celebrities in the world can come and feel like just part of the crowd. The Dime is by far one of my favorite dive bars in all of LA. They keep a good rotation of djs and they all bring their own flavor. I'm a big 90's hip hop head and they're always playing dope stuff that I grew up on. Bartenders are always a vibe and pours are legit. I used to frequent the Tuesday comedy night when Adam and Nicky hosted and I can't count the amount of good local comics and famous comics I've seen for free here. Now that I'm older I don't go on the weekends as much because it gets stupid packed but if that's your things go for it. For the guys this is one of the best places to meet women because no one is pretentious here, just enjoying life and vibing. With Fairfax constantly changing by the day it's great to still have a local staple that hasn't lost its magic.“
“Dope little dive bar nestled in amongst a bunch ofcar repair shops and a gas station. Low-key vibe, super casual, pool tables, darts, video golf, long hallway-style room with a wind flow that keeps it surprisingly cool. They don't have food, but allow you to order delivery and eat it at the bar. Inexpensive drinks, decent whiskey and bourbon brands, lots of beer choices (no drafts, only bottles). And a jukebox.Bartenders are all cool af, decent hard-working folk who have to put up with some serious LA attitudes and they manage the crowd like professionals. And OMG, it doesn't smell like a dive bar! Clean af, and the bathrooms even (for a dude bathroom to be reasonably clean at a dive bar is like winning the lottery.)Relax, have a good time, play some pool, and chill. Can't go wrong here.“
“This was the first place I came once I hit my grand 21. I absolutely love it. Diana is a sweetheart, she treats you like family, I've been coming here almost a year now. I'm on a first name basis with most of the bartenders, they're all great, I absolutely feel welcomed and valued here. I try to come here at least once a month, I love the ambiance here. The patrons here are always friendly and welcoming ❤ They're the best of the best here. 10/10 recommend. They're very hospitable here, they'll never let your cup go empty, the servers are on the ball here. If you want to have a great night and make good memories, come to Froggy's Bar and Grill.“
“One of the best places to hang out in Hermosa Beach. We were here 2 weeks ago. I love the fish tacos here and some of there hamburger sliders. Nice drink specials and margueritas. Great bartenders and customer service. I wish i could come here more often.“
“This is a hybrid dive bar that has some amazing staff and jukebox play. It’s hybrid because it has a pizza shop next door that has really amazing pizza. They don’t have food but easily accessible. The Guinness is outstanding; clean lines and ice cold. They have jukebox you can DJ and Liz and Kanna were really gracious hosts for us. We stayed at the Best Western nearby and used this as our staging point before our cruise. It’s a really cool local with very nice people.“
“Good long happy hour specials. Bartenders are friendly and good at their job. Locals can be easy to make conversations with. Wish a bit more variety of people, def a neighborhood joint. Never gets super busy in the times I've been. Glad to be close by.“
“It’s such a lovely dump LOL! Love going there on Wednesdays for the rib eye steak. I hope they don’t ever remodel or change a thing in there including the ripped up mish mash chairs, wobble tables… it’s our favorite happy little place. We donated some ping pong rackets because theirs were sooo bad but they probably don’t even notice it. Dive bars for the chill low maintenance people. : ) Xo“
“So I had a weird experience once, but ever since, this place has stepped up their game!! I come in just for Jess because she's awesome, and Mariah's customer service skills and bartending technique have vastly improved!! This place is exactly what you're looking for if you're into dive bars, like I am. Great sports on every tv, pool table with a bunch of regulars always happy to welcome you to the table, and an amazing sense of community. One off night shouldn't affect a Yelp score so I'm upping from a 3 to a 5! This place is great! Definitely stop in and say what's up to Jess and Mariah!!“
“Strong drinks, fast service and hot fries. What's to complain about? It's within walking distance from the beach, it's a total classic dive bar - old posters, jukebox songs and plenty of TVs playing sports. It's a bigger place than it looks like from the outside with back patio seating. Parking isn't easy but it's to be expected for the area.“
