“Absolutely wonderful. Everything was fresh and delicious. Nothing was too sweet.The lovely lady at the counter happily walked me through the day’s selection. She said it changed every day. Everything looked incredible, it was hard to choose. We ended up with a raspberry and chocolate twist, a pineapple strudel, a croissant breakfast sandwich, a mocha and a cold brew.The twist and the strudel were perfectly fruity, flaky and soft. The sandwich was freshly made with ham, eggs and cheese. The pistachio croissant was heavenly. Perfectly crusty and flaky, a light pistachio pastry cream in the center, covered in crushed pistachios and sugar, without being overly sweet.Cannot wait to come back and try more.“

“This coffee shop is beyond cute and gives off a certain cozy vibe. I wish it had its own location vs in the train station as I don't feel safe going in there alone which is the only reason I'm giving them a 4 star review. Their gelato ice cream is very creamy and great! I love ordering the cafe de olla latte it's very flavorful. I also like the vanilla latte. The owner is there working all the time and overall everyone is very friendly.“

“When I went it was during a very busy time and there was only two people running the shop. But I have to say the food hair was pretty terrific. If you're looking for a reasonably priced flavor packed meal, I would stop here. I don't think you could really go wrong with any of the meals here to be honest. Chutney was flavorful, the Masala Dolsa was crispy but with some fluff and packed with onions (which was a lovely surprise) and it honestly made me regret not ordering two plates.“

The flavors were decent, if mild, but what I noticed was a lack of dimensionality. The tortillas are house made and they were delicious, but the overall combination was flat.On my recent return, I ordered the guacamole and Creole Seabass. The guacamole, while enjoyable, didn't quite reach the level of greatness. It was good, but a bit watery and lime-forward, but again lacked dimension. However, the homemade totopos were really good.The Creole Seabass, unfortunately, failed to impress. Expecting a grilled fish bursting with flavor, I was met with a fried skin-on seabass covered with coconut sauce. The fish itself was as bland and tasteless as cod. While the coconut sauce added some dimension, the overall taste fell flat, exacerbated by the underwhelming spice level (about a 2 out of 10). It could just as easily have been called Thai Coconut Seabass. The waiter clarified that by Creole they mean Belize-style Creole which is translated as mild and coconuty, not the North American Creole which means bursting with flavor. He said he was also surprised. Meanwhile, I was just coming to the realization that Rumfish is Belize food. Now I feel stupid. Not sure how I missed that?Price Point:Given the Seabass's hefty price tag, exceeding $30, my expectations were naturally elevated. However, the disparity between cost and culinary experience left me questioning the value. While a $15 entre might warrant less scrutiny, the premium price demands, in my mind, a more exceptional dining experience.Final Thoughts:Despite my reservations, I remain optimistic about Rumfish. While my encounters have yet to align with the restaurant's stellar reputation, I am open to further exploration. I am hopeful that Rumfish will eventually deliver the culinary excellence that has resulted in so many glowing reviews.“

“Pete's Breakfast House is a classic breakfast and lunch restaurant. It offers delicious, fresh food made with high-quality ingredients. There is a wide variety of food on the menu, including American breakfast and Mexican food. Sandwiches and pancakes are also available. We came to this restaurant by recommendation from my husband's parents. We noticed that our favorite TV food show Guy Fieri's photo was hanging on the wall. I liked the pancake roll the best and I highly recommend it.“

“One of the best vegan spots to exist ever. The green, blue, white V for international vegan pride flag greets you as you walk in. Plenty of beautiful mosaic tiled seating inside and also outside with a grassy area for the kids and pups. Appreciate the photos of top dishes, all 100% vegan, and with some gluten free options such as corn tortillas. We love love loved the homey deliciousness of our huevos ranchers of Mexican rice, beans, and corn tortilla with vegan eggs and salsa along with our soyrizo breakfast burrito with potatoes, salsa, vegan cheese. Above all, we were happy for the quality and caring customer service from Luis and Lalo who greeted and assisted us with kindness and care. Many thanks to all who run this amazing beacon for vegan food in Ventura County and all of SoCal. Can also take our tasty made with love vegan food to go to enjoy at the beach next time. “Decided to try something new and very happy we found this place! Very clean and nice area for people to enjoy and hangout. We got the California poppy and dawn patrol, both very good smoothies and super tasty. 10-11 dollars for a smoothie is pretty steep but with all the ingredients in them and from a business perspective the price makes sense. Will definitely come again, the staff was also very nice and knowledgeable about the products they are selling. Two thumbs up“

“Himalaya is a hidden gem in Ventura. I have been going there for a few years and I have never been disappointed. Their food is delicious--flavorful and well spiced and their portions are generous. The chicken tikka masala and the garlic naan are fantastic as you would expect but there are hidden gems throughout the menu--try the Newari Choila or the Lamb Saagwala-- or if you want something a little spicier, any of the Vindaloo dishes will satisfy your spice craving. A good choice for lunch is the Silver Burrito, which has delicious chicken tikka cubes with lettuce and cucumber, mixed with mint, tamarind and yogurt sauces. Besides the excellent food, what sets Himalaya apart from most restaurants, is their hospitality. Sonny and the rest of the crew do an outstanding job attending to your needs--coming by often to refill water glasses and clearing away dishes. You definitely won't feel forgotten there. If you're not sure what you might like--just ask--they are extremely helpful in suggesting dishes based on your likes and dislikes and your level of comfort with the food. After you've been back a couple times (and you will return!) they will undoubtedly recognize you and may suggest additional dishes you may like (I've found so many new favorites this way). Indeed, the staff is so helpful, It starts to feel like you are eating at a friend's home instead of at a restaurant. If you haven't already been, try Himalaya! You will love it and will love having a new place to take family and friends to share their wonderful food and gracious hospitality.“

“We recently discovered the amazing Waypoint Cafe and had to share! From the warm welcome to the incredible food, this hidden gem has it all. The cafe can get busy, so arrive early (they close at 3 pm). Their carne asada omelette, tri-tip sandwich, and must-try lemon pancakes are simply delicious. Don't forget to try their refreshing mimosas too! We can't wait to go back for more unforgettable moments.“

“Visited for my moms birthday and we had a great experience. Food was amazing we ordered pad thi, Tom yum soup, chicken fried rice and broccoli with beef. Everything was great although the broccoli and beef was a tat salty. I would definitely come back. I strongly recommend the Thai tea with boba !!! Literally the best Thai tea I’ve had ! 10/10“

“Still good food & service, but SO pricey now. Everything in my previous review still stands. Owner & staff are attentive and friendly. Pet friendly. Food is still delicious. The only downside is that the food is now extremely pricey, which I completely understand why during this time (look at the gas prices). An *average* price of a plate is $17. My last bill with 3 entrees, 2 sides and 3 drinks was over $100. They no longer give little dessert muffins with the bill, for us at least. As of now, I consider this breakfast spot an ocassional treat. I'd still recommend everyone to come try this place out. Just remember though: always start with beignets!“

“We were off to a slow start-was the chef on break? But with an appetizer on the house, nice service, and a desire to eat Saag Paneer I waited. The Saag Paneer was full of flavor albeit I wish I had gotten it spicy not Medium. The Chicken vindaloo was good but not inspiring. The garlic naan good but it's usually fool proof. The complimentary rice pudding was light and the cardamom apparent. Good service except for food taking a while.“

“Strey has been open approximately for 10 years. My husband and I ended up coming here for a wine tasting practically when they first opened. Katie, one of the owners had helped us with our tasting and was always so nice, professional, and made great tasting wines. We hadn't been back for over 5 years due to the pandemic and simply being into wine, not being into wine, and now back again. Recently, we ended up coming by Strey for a tasting. We met Scott, the other owner and Katie's husband, who greeted us and gave us a tasting of 5 excellent wines. Plus their wine tasting menu has expanded to include sparking wine (it's only called "champagne" if made in a region of Champagne, France), white and red wines as well as dessert wines. There are also several wines to look forward to come back for a tasting for, try a glass of, or buy a bottle of. My husband and I shared a tasting, and agreed that all the tastings were delicious, although I personally favored the red wines on the tasting list (the Pinot Noir and Petite Syrah blend). In general, I tend to prefer red wines, but the white wine were also delicious! Plus, the winery has several events like an ugly Christmas party, bands that come in throughout the month, glass painting, and several other events! Also, Scott let us try a teeny bit of their dessert wines - and we found ourselves having to buy a bottle of our favorite! Strey is an excellent place to try out different wines, converse, and relax. Thank you to the owners of Strey for making this a comfortable, pleasant, and delicious experience for me 10 years ago - and even now!“

Wow!The buttermilk and apple fritter were the best I've ever had.Fritter was perfectly crisp on the outside yet moist and full of apple and cinnamon flavors on the inside. “Leashless Brewing is a great little place that brews some awesome beers and seltzers.I am Not a seltzer drinker but there is something in the Mosa and Strawjito Seltzer that keep us coming back. The TriFin and syncopation are also two awesome beers you gotta come by and try. Whenever we come to Ventura or come through we have to stop and get beers to go.“

“My girlfriend and I have been dying to try Indian food. We happen to be passing through Oxnard and came across this Gem of an establishment. Everything we ordered was Mouth watering and cooked to perfection. I kid you not, I've never had anything so flavorful in my life. We started with the chicken samosas and those baby's are one great way to start your journey of flavor here. I should add, the service was just as great. The waiter gives the best insight on what to order and is genuinely kind and attentive through your whole meal. They were so kind that they brought out a dish called navratan korma on the house because they just wanted us to try a little more of their culture on a dish and that alone stood out to me. The ambiance of the restaurant is very cozy and welcoming. With it being close quarters, they give you a sense of attention that is unmatched compare to overwhelmingly large restaurants. With that being said, if you are wondering what to order, you got to try out their butter chicken and their coconut chicken. It's 11pm and I still can't stop thinking about it haha. 10/10 rating in my book, and I have to say this was the perfect place for my first time trying Indian food.“

“We happened upon the Red Tandem Brewery while riding our bikes in Oxnard on our anniversary weekend getaway. A band was setting up in the parking lot just outside. So we got a couple of beers and copped a squat on the curb to listen! The beer and the band was called The Hairy Monks, and both were very enjoyable! We even bought a 4-pack to bring home with us! If you're in the Oxnard area, I recommend you checking them out!“

“I have lived in Camarillo for 5 years and have relatives and been coming back and forth Camarillo for years, I'm not sure how I missed This spot, but when I found it it's been my constant go to. I constantly meet my friends there. Coffee is good Affogato or however it's spelled is very good! Cookies are also another favorite. I'm not much of a sweet tooth type of person, but 85% of the time I end up getting a cookie. Staff is nice and friendly, great place to bring my wife and daughter to play board games or card games.“

“Our nephew and his wife took us there today for breakfast. I had the Breakfast Burrito with brisket, and it was sensational! I’ve never cooked a brisket, and Tom kindly showed me two he smoked last night, both beautifully browned and crusty, and ready to be sliced across the grain. “I'm a big fan of MadeWest Brewing Company! Their Hazy IPA has become a go-to beer for me no matter the occasion. So, I was very excited to check out their brewery in Ventura when the opportunity presented itself. My experience here did not disappoint. I found this location to be fairly low-key, providing the perfect atmosphere for an afternoon drink. Service was nice and friendly. Being a big Hazy IPA fan, I can be pretty picky about the taste and quality. That has never been a concern with MadeWest, as they consistently serve one of the best Hazy IPAs out there. Go ahead and check this place out!“

“I recently visited The Cave Restaurant and Ventura Wine Company. I hadn’t been there in years and was thinking it would only be appetizers or small plates. It was a pleasant surprise to enjoy such a quality meal and delicious wine and bubbly selection. We were in the back room a bit away from the bustle of the main area, where we could have a conversation. My friend and I shared their Prix Fixe Weekday Meal which consisted of an appetizer and dessert to share along with an entree for each. We decided to add a bottle of French bubbly. We started off with the cranberry cave salad which was so fresh and crisp. It was served on one long plate that we had to portion out ourselves. I would suggest plating it up separately for convenience to the guests. For dinner my friend had the Eggplant Parmesan and I had the Ahi Tuna. It was the best tuna I’ve ever eaten. The pieces were firm and flaky with just the right amount of crust for flavor. The eggplant was served over spaghetti and was a cheesy crisp and delight. Both dishes were mouth watering goodness! We chose a lighter dessert of fresh berries with Italian Zabaione. The perfect blend of flavors to end an amazing meal. Do not miss this gem!“

From panko crusted oysters and oyster tacos to sea urchin tostadas and scallop ceviche, all made fresh to order. There is also a variety of oysters ready to eat raw or grilled, with multiple sauces and variations to stimulate your taste buds , best part is that you can do the shucking and grilling yourself, but for those unable to, they offer it shucked as well. BONUS: you literally right next to the beach so what more can you ask for. “4.7 stars is selling this place short! This is hands down the best most authentic Mexican food I have had in a long time. The food was so flavorful. I had a shrimp burrito and my wife had the combo plate with cheese enchilada, taco, and chili relleno. The chips and salsa didn't stop and one of the guys came by and asked if we liked spicy salsa.... yes please. He brought us a habanero salsa that was not just straight fire. It had so much flavor. Keep making that for sure! The beer comes in an ice cold glass. Oh and you want atmosphere .... this place treats you like family. Watching the locals come and go as we ate dinner, definitely tells me this place is good. The staff is so friendly. The prices are great for the quality and quantity of food you get. It's a shame this place is over 5 hours from my house. With what they got going here I'm sure they will be here next time I'm in town. If you are not a local (like me) and you are looking for THE Mexican food place, come here. Just don't drive fast, I missed the entrance and had come back around. There is limited street parking but way more parking behind the restaurant in the alley. Have a great meal!!Vegetarian options: Want to sub something non meat in your taco... get the potatoes!!! “Andrew was superb in assisting us with our bowl. Not only was he patient, he was very attentive to any questions we had. This location is clean, simple but inviting. We ordered a large Acai base 3/4 filled and topped to our hearts desire. While I don't usually opt for chocolate, my brother wanted to try it so we ended up with a surprisingly good mix of fruits and sweets. Definitely won him over as he wants to return again lol! They have a number of bases to choose from and while it's so hard to pick, Acai is my go to. Can't wait to return and try different types of variety.“

We enjoy the relaxed vibe; indoor and outdoor seating, along with the friendly staff to help with beer selections. There are often food trucks ( the schedule is in their website). “I have since relocated from the 805 and really miss the food. I would drive back for it if time permitted. Al pastor is awesome, but ironically their chicken recipe is what I can't forget---chicken burrito, chicken tacos, chicken quesadilla, chicken anything. Very tasty spicy salsa, they don't call themselves Diablo for nothing! And get those fryer fresh chips, quesabirria, chicken burrito, a carnitas torta, and some fish tacos!“

“Fun little brewery spot tucked up to the freeway. The beer was outstanding and the customer service was awesome as well. They had a very large selection of beers on tap to try. Small outdoor patio to sit at, opened up a large area inside with pool tables and arcade machines. Had some snack foods available but nothing really substantial to eat. If you want to eat they will let you get a pizza next door and bring it in to have with your beer. I’d say of the four breweries we tried this weekend these guys had the best beer by far.“

You can select many different flavors when you purchase a single scoop so you can sample their selection. It is worth a visit when you are in the area. They also have locations in Santa Barbara. “Duke's has become my favorite beach bar in all of ventura county. I used to come here to watch football games on sundays. Their friendly staff, fair priced cocktails, and overall ambiance makes it so comfortable and a fun place to unwind. I usually go by myself however, I recently visited last weekend with a friend just for some drinks. I was able to catch some of the sdsu basketball game too! It is always so much fun and I'm looking forward to the next time I visit.“
