“Duke's has become my favorite beach bar in all of ventura county. I used to come here to watch football games on sundays. Their friendly staff, fair priced cocktails, and overall ambiance makes it so comfortable and a fun place to unwind. I usually go by myself however, I recently visited last weekend with a friend just for some drinks. I was able to catch some of the sdsu basketball game too! It is always so much fun and I'm looking forward to the next time I visit.“

“Huge pizzas with tons of toppings worth the $30 price point. Great drink options as well. Amazing garlic fries with huge portions. Great for groups and a good starting point for cruising mainstreet. “The absolute best Irish food this side of the Atlantic Ocean. We go here all the time and try to get something different everytime. The curry chicken is to die for. The pot pies are insane. The potato soup is great because they don't use bacon. The service is top notch. Oh yeah, the beers and Irish whiskey shots can't be compared to. This place ROCKS.“

“Fun little brewery spot tucked up to the freeway. The beer was outstanding and the customer service was awesome as well. They had a very large selection of beers on tap to try. Small outdoor patio to sit at, opened up a large area inside with pool tables and arcade machines. Had some snack foods available but nothing really substantial to eat. If you want to eat they will let you get a pizza next door and bring it in to have with your beer. I’d say of the four breweries we tried this weekend these guys had the best beer by far.“

“I’m the traveler. This is the best place anyone should stop, if just for a drink friendly conversation. You can even walk out to the beach, and see the seals. “A great place to experience the true local vibe of the Ventura Marina. The food and atmosphere is fantastic here. Be sure to experience the ahi tuna tacos with their famous age old passed down recipe fire sauce. “Rocks and Drams in downtown Ventura exceeded all expectations! Located on California Street, just south of Main Street, this hidden gem stands out with its bright exterior and inviting signage. Once inside, you're greeted with a sophisticated and elegant lounge atmosphere, complete with small tables, cozy couch seating, and a stylish bar.The upscale speakeasy vibe is enhanced by the dark, muted colors, luxurious fabrics, and eccentric artwork adorning the walls. While the music was a bit too loud for the ambiance, it didn't detract from the overall experience.The cocktails at Rocks and Drams are truly a work of art. Each drink is meticulously crafted with spot-on ingredients, offering a variety of options to suit every taste. The staff, including the friendly and knowledgeable bartender who assisted us, were exceptionally helpful and polite.What's more, the prices for the drinks are incredibly reasonable considering the upscale atmosphere of the lounge. “I lived in the area on and off for over 25 years. This is the first time ever coming here. I was walking in blind, I knew nobody here and knew nothing about this place. Driven past hundreds of times but never stop. First impression was awesome. Great environment and atmosphere with the tavern. Everyone was cool and fun and very welcoming of me being there. Sammy the bartender was awesome. Very attentive to my drinks and everyone’s else’s drinks , knowledgeable on what he’s serving, and just a friendly attitude towards everyone there. Awesome local spot to get some great beers and wines. They have darts, a shuffle board table, and a digital jukebox to play your favorite tunes. I would definitely recommend the Beachcomber Tavern to anyone that is local, traveling through or the vacation rental people. I will definitely be back myself.“

“Just a cool spot. Pool tables, dart boards, outside patio, great drinks, great people.... a neighborhood bar that welcomes everyone. Also, dart tournaments. You may have to be pretty good to win, but everyone is invited to join. Good drinks, good people, good times.Parking: The lot isn't real big, but there's lots of street parking right out front. I've never had any issue parking.“

“We had a great time at Cabo's on our Anniversary Day. We both wanted to try it after a few recommendations and the fact that I used to work in that building in the late 70s when it was a Sizzler Steak House Restaurant. The food and drinks were delicious and the service was awesome. We had appetizers as well as our meal and ended it with dessert. They all came out in a timely manner. I would go again!“

“We went to the Yard House last Friday, (first time in a very long time) and I want to tell you that our experience was saved by our server Jason. We ordered a beer and a Mai Tai. You could tell that the Mai Tai is probably not ordered often there (being that they specialize in their tap beers) it wasn't very good, and it wasn't in a very nice presentation glass either. We told our server, who was quick to repace it for us. We went on to place our Dinner order. My husband ordered a Pasta dish with LOBSTER (sorry, I don't know the menu name) anyway it was a spaghetti or linguine type of pasta with what looked like a light tomato sauce, with an 'additional' Caesar Salad.I ordered a Stacked Turkey Club and fries. The food was slow coming out but we were enjoying our evening out. While looking around we noticed that it wasn't overly busy and there was certainly 'not' a shortage of staff working the floor. When our meal was served it came with the Salad and we realized that it hadn't come out prior to the meal, had we noticed we would have brought it to Jason's attention. So my husband started on the pasta right away - leaving the Salad alone so that he could enjoy the Pasta while it was hot and fresh. It was too late - it was already cold and disappointing. Again, Jason was very helpful and gave us the utmost of professional service. We were very pleased with the rest of the food we ordered, but I want to stress that it was Jason's superior service that will bring us/me back to the Restaurant. Addtionally - I want to say that I know mistakes happen and that things can go wrong in the kitchen, But, if you have it on your menu- you should be able to prepare and serve it properly.Thanks again Jason ?‍♀️“

“Kava. It doesn't taste bad nor does it taste good but you'll want to go check this place out for the experience. Kava comes in a powder that's mixed with water, poured into cups (little cute coconut shells) and then taken as a shot. We had 5 shots each and I definitely felt relaxed almost sleepy like..however, my boyfriend felt nothing.the owner is very friendly, personable and welcoming. He has some great ideas for the place , like open mic nights and such that I'm super excited for. Oh and the bar is open till midnight so yay something to do past 9:30pm in this county !“

“Well, I turned 62 today so my 91 year old dad wanted to take me to dinner for my birthday. Since Quincy's closure, we thought we would check out the Strand to see how the food, service & ambience is now. This place is definitely still a locals hideout! The table order was: BBQ chicken plate, Salmon plate & peppered ahi plate. My dad raved about his salmon; the evidence is in his plate being near empty. My pan seared ahi plate was really great too. My sister said her BBQ chicken was good too. All in all, it was a great birthday dinner. The service was slow although not by the waitstaff, seemingly the kitchen. Waitstaff all very friendly, attentive & kind.“
