“We wandered in to Milagros for lunch and were soon greeted and taken to the cute patio area. We ordered chips and salsa, and got three delicious salsas and a bucket of fantastic tortilla chips. My niece had a fish taco and I had the chicken taquitos. She loved her taco, and the taquitos were absolutely perfect. Jose 'el diablo', ? was our waiter. He was entertaining and likeable, very sweet and funny. The service was beyond reproach.“
“One of the best places for outdoor brunch on the peninsula. Their champagne mimosas are good with generous portions. I wish they offered more for vegetarians with some Beyond burger or Impossible meat-based dishes. I do really miss their scones which they stopped serving some years ago. They were just such a delight and they are sadly missed.“
“The staff here is welcoming and polite! The food here taste just as good as the food back home in Guatemala. The food here has a rich and diverse culinary tradition that reflects its indigenous Mayan, European, and African influences.Great, here's a review for Panaderia & Restaurante Guatemalteca:I recently visited Panaderia & Restaurante Guatemalteca and had an amazing experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was very warm and inviting. The food was absolutely delicious - I particularly enjoyed the Pepian stew, which was rich and flavorful, and the Chiles Rellenos were stuffed to perfection. The restaurant also has a great selection of traditional Guatemalan baked goods and pastries, which were all fresh and delicious.Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Panaderia & Restaurante Guatemalteca. The only suggestion I have for improvement is to possibly expand the seating area to accommodate more guests, as the restaurant can get quite busy during peak hours. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Guatemalan cuisine.Pepian: A traditional meat stew made with chicken or beef, vegetables, and a thick sauce made from ground pumpkin seeds.Chiles Rellenos: Bell peppers stuffed with ground meat, rice, and vegetables, and then fried and served with tomato sauce.Tamales: Steamed corn dough wrapped in banana leaves and filled with meat, vegetables, or cheese.Guacamole: A popular dip made from mashed avocado, onion, tomato, and lime juice.Rellenitos: Fried plantains stuffed with sweetened black beans and cinnamon.Kak'ik: A spicy turkey soup with tomato, tomatillo, and chili pepper.Fiambre: A cold salad made with various meats, vegetables, and cheeses.Pollo en Jocon: Chicken cooked in a green sauce made from green peppers, tomatillos, and cilantro.Atol de Elote: A sweet and creamy corn pudding flavored with cinnamon and vanilla.Chuchitos: Similar to tamales, but smaller and usually filled with chicken or pork.“
“What a fantastic experience! The lady who served us was incredibly kind and friendly, and the atmosphere of the place felt so welcoming, just like their menu. While we only sampled the empanadas, they had an enticing variety of other dishes. We're definitely planning to return to savor the Chimichurri sandwich and indulge in the beef, spinach & mushroom empanadas again - these were our absolute favorites today. We highly recommend this spot; plus, there's plenty of parking, and the outdoor view is simply breathtaking.“
“Delicious and fresh. The fresh corn tortillas are the best I've ever had. The Pepian de Gallina was SO good! Papusas were tasty and not greesy. What a great find!Kid-friendliness: We had a baby with us and the space and table arrangement was good.“
“1st time to a Brazilian steakhouse. The menu and buffet are amazing. Nice atmosphere. All glass front wall lets in the outdoors even when seated in the back. There is a separate bar to the side. Only downside is that it's very pricey“
“Literally a HOLE in the wall spot lol. Service was quick and easy, wait times were reasonable and there is a lot of parking. Because they only do takeout, it's easy to pop in and out. The Beef Birria was so good; full of flavor and meaty. The taco was thick and cheesy. So glad we found this! I highly recommend this place!“
“Emelina's is a great Peruvian food joint. The service is brilliant. Everything on the menu looked delicious and left us confused as we wanted to order everything. We devoured the ceviche and grilled fish. It was cooked to perfection. We will be back to try out the rest of the items on the menu.“
“When I used to work in RWC I ate at their original location just outside of downtown. They've opened a second locale in Menlo and has been quietly opened for a year and I hadnt realized it. Especially because it is in the same strip mall as one of my fave Mexican places, El Fogon, which strangely had an Atherton Mom and her teenage daughter going to. this would never happen pre covid. Speaking of when they opened apparently most folks wanted the original location which is more Panaderia than Restaurant back then to have a bar. So they built this one with a nice bar and now post covid the demand for a bar isnt as strong. I hope that changes because I think their food is quite good. Also this locale brings in the bakery products from the other location so it is a small case. I had a conversation with a server a while back at a sushi restaurant of all places and found out they were from Guatemala. We got to talking about where all the Guatemlan food was and they said El Pollo Campero was basically the only one around. So when I told them about the original location of Guatemalteca we googled it and this one showed up. So during my errands I met a friend here for a meal. We had to go for the stuff we'd never heard of and that paid dividends. The Hilachas is a beef stew that texturally like ropa vieja with the protein being beef being in a thick gravy like stew of tomato and other aromatics. This was served with a salad, pureed black beans and rice. The churrasco was grilled beef similar to carne asada but spiced differently. it had similar components to the Hilachas but also came with a chili and some crema. We also got a Gutemalan Tamal of pork to share and they included the last of their Gutemalan style chile relleno which is smaller but amazingly tasty. The bonus here are the hand made tortillas! Food was a big win and since you're surrounded in a neighborhood of great Mexican food, Id stick to the Gutemalan fare to broaden your horizons. THe brother and sister which run this locale speak really good ENglish but they still helped me practice my Spanish which was nice. A great new add to the neighborhood and now it's going to be hard because I have to choose this or EL Fogon in the same block“
“We had a phenomenal waiter. I asked about gluten free options since the menu was not marked, and he took me through the menu to explain what could and could not be safely prepared without cross contamination. Unfortunately, not many safe options! There are very few gluten-containing items, but they spoil most of the menu for me due to a shared fryer - so no homemade tortilla chips for me! The cocktails were great, the atmosphere was very pleasant, and the staff were friendly. I just wish they would modify kitchen practices to be more celiac friendly.Dietary restrictions: Minimal truly gluten free items due to cross contamination“
