“This was my first time here. I was down here going to 99 Ranch and decided I'd like something to drink. I tried the mango passionfruit green tea. You are given the choice of how much or little sweetener and ice to put in and I usually like it less sweet with less ice so that I can get more of the drink. I like the fact that they use fresh fruit in many of their drinks. This drink was very good, very refreshing and I would order it again. The service was quick and all the employees looked like high school kids, but they were very fast, bright and efficient.“

What I like most about Golden Tea Shop: variety of tea (they have four different Oolongs!), strength of tea flavor, and value (probably best bang for your buck in Oakland). Personal drink rotation includes the Roasted Black Milk Tea, Roasted Oolong Milk Tea, Jinxuan Oolong Milk Tea, and Thai Milk Tea - all great whether iced or hot. Their fruit teas are also a refreshing choice for summertime (personal fave is Honeydew).Recommendations: Their 50% sugar level, to me, provides the tough-to-find optimal sweetness for those who don't like their milk tea too sweet. While I do enjoy i-Tea as well, I find that their 30% sugar level is still indulgently sweet. Would also recommend at least 75% ice for iced drinks - 50% tends to lead to a lukewarm/cold temp that is not as enjoyable. Finally, would suggest ordering online ahead of time (I use TPass) - drinks can take a while if there's a rush of orders.“

“Very full but the line moved quickly. They have a huge screen for ordering and then another screen by the register that shows how long (in minutes) till your order is ready. “I did catering here and I'm glad that they open early on a Saturday as well as their online system, was smooth convenient to use. Kalua pork was too dry. If I knew, I would have opted for either crispy shrimp or chicken katsu. I wished that they had pork katsu so I would have ordered pork katsu and get a variety of chicken, beef and pork. BBQ chicken was nicely flavored and tender as well as their BBQ short ribs. They tried to be healthy with cabbage on the bottom and broccoli on each corner. I ate the veggies with the abundant meat. “As a Taiwanese I approve of this! The boba is very good and the tea is also very good. There's a combo deal for medium hk milk tea with an egg waffle. We had lychee oolong and hk milk tea with an egg waffle. The waffle is also good. Light and fluffy. They made it right after ordering which makes the crust crunch.“

“Stopped by midweek and this place did not disappoint. Easy ordering via phone, prompt service, and delicious food. We got the Blue Heat 50/50 style and the Ramen 50/50 plus a strawberry boba. Both hot dogs were perfect with the right amount of cheese pull and loaded with flavor. We also got the Sriracha mayo which I highly recommend. Boba with fantastic; not too sweet with good flavor and the right amount of chew texture.“

“Liked the feel of this place, smell too! Didn't have tables or chairs to sit at the place but that was fine with me! I got the brown sugar boba milk tea so I can't speak for the cold drinks but the boba was really nice! It had no feel of any hardish inside so it was really nice to chew on. “Went in to check out the new location and get boba for the little.Had to order at a kiosk which was hard due to the sun glare across the screen. The staff was very busy so answering questions about the kiosk was a no go.They were very busy while we were there, which was dinner time. Found out they were short staffed when I asked for a receipt.“

“I was about to drive all the way to Berkeley to get a Korean corn dog and saw that this place was closer to home. Figured let's check it out and saw that it was the same one as Berkeley. Yay ordered a half and half original and three donuts. My son ordered a half and half hot Cheetos and we were so quiet while eating our corn dogs because damn it was hella good! The cheese was melty and was strong with each bite and the outside was nice and crunchy. The hot dog was ok, I preferred the cheese more. The donuts were mochi and perfectly yummy! Just a note- they don't serve corn dogs after 7:30pm.“

“I was sad when we lost the Thai cafe due to covid on this little plaza. The places that were here are pretty heavy and not suitable for lunch, especially for people that are vegetarian. I walked by this little Boba cafe a ton before realizing that they offer Banh Mi sandwiches! Yeah! While not total health food, it's a reasonable treat. Thankfully there are alternatives to pork and chicken, and more than one veggie banh mi.I think there's something about the name that makes people think it's only about Boba. I was ordering and the other lady I was with thought it was boba only too until recently. Maybe if they renamed it "Boba and Banh Mi?" Totally unsure.The Banh Mi is great, and has crunchy fresh vegetables so it's a nice alternative to the explosion of deep fried meat takeout surrounding it!“
