“I loved the Japanese decor as it felt very authentic. Food was good. We had calamari for appetizer, ramen & some sushi dishes. Service can be improved. Our server was the older later whom was obnoxious. They do not have napkins as part of your table placements which is odd.“
“Small, quite authentic Japanese restaurant. Sushi and sashimi were fresh and yummy. However, I couldn't say the same on the supposed grilled big octopus which was rubbery and does not taste fresh. The tempura was not crunchy enough and bland to taste, quite different from what I had before. Service is ok considering there's only one Japanese lady getting the orders and serving the food. I guess because they are not that busy. Nevertheless, service is a bit compromised. Overall, I think it's ok to give the restaurant another chance, so I will come back and try the food again.“
“The H S Express Delivered, this sushi spot is nothing fancy but is low-key with dynamite fresh flavor and a nice selection of sashimi, sushi, rolls, and a few other goodies to be found at sushi restaurants. The decor is simple, and the service is good ,and the food is very fresh. This is a very small establishment with 5 tables and 2 seats at the bar, still brand new to the neighborhood . I noticed a lot of takeout and a steady flow of patrons to this spot, but I believe that will change when they find out how good this place is. Also, there are only two sushi chefs, so relax and enjoy the time. There is no alcohol served here, so don't let that spoil your experience here. You did come for the Hamachi experience. See you tomorrow ?“
“First visit here. Absolutely loved it. The albacore sashimi should really be renamed a carpaccio. Thinly sliced premium seared albacore with a tangy delicious ponzu sauce. With more than 10 slices, it's the perfect delicacy to share with someone special. Everything else here was super fresh and tasty. The ambience is dark & comfy and the customer service was friendly, quick & efficient. I found my new favorite spot for sushi.“
“A feast to the eyes and for the palate. However, the whole omakase felt a bit rushed because there was a train of people standing behind us waiting to be seated for the next appointed timeslots. Also, they said it's 10 sushi but it's really like 7 because there's an appetizer that was more like a small plate of Hawaiian poke, a miso soup side dish and a green tea ice cream dessert at the end.Other than that, good experience though.“
“Robots are distracting and loud at times and I prefer personal service. Food innovative and delicious. New/trainee waitress hesitant and seemed overwhelmed which allowed for more conversation. Things amiss are easily fixable: owner & staff stepped in, generously compensated and cared for us. The food is well worth it and we will return again & again.“
“The food was AMAZING ! Teriyaki sauce was bomb and the sushi was on point. Also I love how it's 10pcs for an order of California roll unlike the usual 6-8. Service was also quick and excellent. Too bad we live far. Otherwise this will be a regular place for us.“
“So my baby boy Jude and I went there to get some early birthday sushi everything was great. Service was ok but the food made up for it.Parking: The place is located in Uptown Whittier so for everyone that is not familiar with the area not to worry there is plenty of free parking available all in their parking lot and the streets.Kid-friendliness: It's NOT a cocktail bar it's a Family restaurant with a Sushi bar my kid had a great time.“
“I've tried most of the sushi places in Brea and this place is legit!High quality sushi and the service was very nice:)Highly recommend if you are a sashimi or sushi(nigiri) lover!(FYI, I ordered the otoro nigiri, salmon nigiri, kurodai nigiri, tiger shrimp nigiri and a salmon handroll which was also amazing)“
“I'm just blown away.... Like just wow. The restaurant looks like any regular hole in the wall dine in restaurant but what you get in terms of the food and the deal? Amazing! The tonkotsu was pure heaven, so much so that I'm not one to finish the broth usually but I forced myself to do the best I could with this one. The pork slices and the noodles are the perfect tenderness. Servers are very attentive and patient from start to finish. The really amazing deal was that your first two Sapporo or Hot Sake bottles are 99 cents too! Major plus that they play the best indie hits; I even heard my artists on the Playlist. I'm just blown away. It's hard to find great ramen in this neck of the woods but this place proves you don't have to live in orange county to get the same quality.“
“The vegan options aren't just plentiful but they also taste amazing. Blends of savory and sweet, crunchy and smooth. The service is also fantastic; they frequently bring out little extras to taste which is a lovely way to expand our palates. It is frequently very busy so show up early if you're not getting that out. Also, the kitchen extractor fans are insufficient; your clothes will smell like fried oil after dining in.Vegetarian options: The vegan Inferno Roll is my favorite but all of their vegan options are amazing. The vegan Hellfire ramen isn't really all that spicy if you have a high spice tolerance.“
“Decided to try a new place as I’ve been on a hunt for a good local sushi place and wow…….taste, presentation and service get 5 stars from me. Everything we need tried impressed me so much that I can’t wait to go back. The owner is also a seasoned sushi chef and he is there making the sushi which makes a world of difference.Like I said, I found my favorite spot ?“
“Ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and it was so delicious. Stopped by after some shopping and this place was packed. They sat me down once I walked in and their service was excellent. I received my meal quickly and it was delicious. I will definitely come back again.“
“All kinds of foods from Akasaka sushi restaurant are always Hugh! Big! more n more foods coming!!! Particularly the Hugh sizes for hand rolls, Big volume for sashimi, even the lunch combinations.... Fish's are so freshly and smell good!! Tasty and delicious are guaranteed.... One of the best sushi shop in the area!! “Diamond in the rough. So excited to have found this place. The food, portions, and pricing are awesome!! Add bonuses it's super clean and the staff is nice. Oh, and the food looks just like their photos. It's crazy how picture perfect it is!“
“This is my go to place when craving ramen and sushi. It is a small place but clean, the food is good, service is fast, and price is reasonable. The owner and staff are very friendly. This place is located in the parking area of Northgate Lincoln and Knott.“
“We've been wanting to try this new restaurant and finally came by. I will say you will not regret it. The food is fresh and delicious. Flavors are on point and service is great. Plenty of parking. Ambiance is great. We'll definitely be back to try new plates. Michelada was yummy.“
“This small neighborhood restaurant has been around for a very long time. We came here for dinner on a Saturday night and were quickly seated as it was just the two of us. Larger parties had to wait as the restaurant was packed. The service was fast, friendly and efficient. All the waitresses work together so we were well looked after. We ordered the Nigiri Deluxe and their Short Ribs Bento Box special. Thoroughly enjoyed the Nigiri. Plenty of food and a variety of fish was fresh and delicious! The Bento box on the other hand had a variety of different items including sashimi. Everything was good except for the Short ribs. Will definitely be back for the next sushi craving!“
“This is my go to spot in the area for Sushi. Their fish is excellent quality and fairly priced. I highly recommend the sashimi combination. The service is exceptional. Staff is very kind and attentive. The sushi chefs are insightful and talented. Stop by for amazing food and great service.“
“I really like this restaurant! We have gone here several times after mountain biking Fullerton Loop. They have GREAT ramen, the happy hour deal appetizers are excellent, their Thai tea is awesome, beers are nice and cold, and their sushi is fresh and very tasty. They are open late, go check it out!Vegetarian options: They have a vegan ramen with spinach noodles“
“The people at this restaurant are amazing. They treat everyone like family. They are friendly and very attentive. The food is also amazing. I have been coming here for around 20 years. We love to come for special events, like birthdays, but also... we try to come at least once a week. We love it here.“
“Came here for the first time and really enjoyed it. I didn't try any of the Peruvian dishes, but we tried the octopus sushi, grilled octopus, tiradito sampler, one of the specialty rolls and everything was nice. The dining area is clean and roomy, and the staff was nice.Definitely coming back again.“
“Yagi was an amazing find in Anaheim Hills. They are small and fill up fast, but their sushi chefs are top notch and incredibly fast. We tried their omakase, two rolls, miso soup, and their hot tea. All were fantastic. If you enjoy nigiri, the omakase is absolutely the one to go with.“
“Our local go to for authentic Japanese!Staff is friendly, atmosphere home, and food as about traditional and authentic as they come.Their menu offer all regular fixing for sushi and handrolls, as well as combination meals. They also have a chefs special for lunch that is a must try every time!Occasionally they offer omakase for holidays but those cute picture specials are offered year round. It's always a treat to come here!“
“Great sushi destination! Not the usual sterile modern sushi local. Great food, service and atmosphere. Very authentic feel to this place. Felt like an off street sushi bsr in TokyoWheelchair accessibility: Lower pkg lot with easy in/out access to Kairi“
“Delicious and Great service. Down to there well kept silverware and Dishes Thank you clean up crew in the Shadows.Kid-friendliness: Anything that lights up a spark on your food makes for a Cool Post.Wheelchair accessibility: Comes with clearance for both,E-scooters and Wheel chairs.“
“Always busy even if your lucky to get a phone order taken. Great food and great price. No dine in only take out. They have teriyaki and spicy mayo on the side counter to add to your plate cause you only get one sauce so better to add before you go.Parking: Next to barber shop and subway“
“Overall, my experience at Sushi Fire was delightful. The food was delicious, earning a solid 4 out of 5 stars with its fresh ingredients and creative presentation. However, the service could use some improvement as it took a little longer than expected to receive our orders.“
“What a gem! The Premium chirashi bowl was absolutely delicious! And Uni and Ikura don - so good you want to squeak with every bite. Japanese uni was tender and sweet, perfect! And lunch prices are super reasonable.Note: Makomae opens at 11:30 am, but by that time there's already a line of people waiting.“
“This place was so yummy! We got the salmon roll, spicy tuna, and a ninja roll. All were amazing and a really good price for the amount and quality of the fish. We even given an appetizer on the house. Everyone there was very nice and welcoming. I definitely recommend everyone check this place out!“
“Sushi Land has been with my family since young. Staff is the kindest you'll ever meet and the fish is fresher than day. Constant updates with the sashimi . Love this place from the bottom of my heart. Go before the place gets busy. I prefer lunch time personally. I recommend this place completely.“
“Good food with great presentation. The food were really good, they had great flavor. The price is competitive compared to similar sushi places. Everything was good. The salmon was the only thing that was probably slightly off, it wasn't bad at all but not on par with other places and that is the reason they don't get 5 stars. I will be back to give them another try. They also have a dice through.“
“It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the inside is decorated tastefully. This would be a great date spot as it has a very romantic atmosphere. The food was delicious and the presentation was very good. Our waiter was very attentive.“
“They have so many yummy dishes here! Way more than expected at a cafe.Highlights of the menu:1. Mini hot pot: Mongolia lamb and Satay beef2. Pork belly skewers3. Lamb skewers4. Beef aorta skewers5. Spicy wonton6. Eel bibimbap7. Short rib with quail egg and tofu8. Stirred beef with quail egg and rice9. Beef bulgogiDrinks:10. Mango pomelo sago11. Oreo brulee matcha12. Mango coconut smoothie“
“Love the atmosphere and the food is delicious! Lucky for me it's close by! Each time I go I try something different and it never disappoints - tonight's shrimp udon was one of the best I've ever had! The atmosphere is pink and a little girly, romantic, great spot for a first date guys!Vegetarian options: Veggie tempura, veggie noodles, veggie rolls....“
“SO DELICIOUS AND FRESH! I can’t believe how good EVERYTHING was. So happy to have stumbled upon this place! We got the extra salmon crunch spicy burrito which was 100/10. The gyoza was hot, steamy, and fresh. The Tonkatsu Ramen had the most delicious pork I’ve ever tasted in Ramen. 10/10! Can’t wait to come back.“
“Place is ok, there are so many better places though! I would eat here if I didn’t want to go out too far. Black garlic ramen was seriously lacking flavor but the udon was good. Sushi was standard and the hoedeopbap was tasty, just didn’t have much fish. Maybe I’ve been spoiled but service was poor. Girl was trying to talk to me across a loud room and ordering was slow. It was only her working this particular evening so it might have been overwhelming. We were told at 9:10 that they closed at 9:15 (nicely told us to gtfo), but we were confused because google says they close at 9:30. Didn’t matter too much because we were about done anyways. Despite the negatives, definitely give it a try, palettes are always different. It wasn’t so bad that I wouldn’t come here again, could’ve been a one-off night and I always like to give establishments another shot.“
“Small cozy place definitely a hidden gem, hand rolls are delicious. Don't forget to pair it with a cold beer. Great fun atmosphere, Margaret & Richie are absolutely the best people around.Kid-friendliness: Margaret & Richie are very helpful and will accommodate to your needs.“
“My husband and I have been looking for a good ramen place and we found this restaurant. We both ordered tonkotsu ramen and a sushi to share, and everything was delicious. The server was so nice and attentive. This restaurant became our favorite place we will definitely come back soon!Kid-friendliness: They have high chairs“
“Great place, reminds me of Japan. Very clean and very friendly staff. The Nigiri Sushi was great and very filling. The Miso was great and the actual tofu chunks were a great sight to see. Definitely a must try and if local I'd be a regular.Arigato Gosaimasu!“
“I lost count of how many times I've been here. It's one of my favorite restaurants in OC!Food is delicious and the service is fast and friendly. They had a new dessert last time I was there: banana split. It was fire! The ambience is very relaxing and the decoration is cute.“
“Friendly place, excellent service and the food was great. Pictured is the eel roll, rainbow roll, salmon roll, and double shrimp roll. Our food came with delicious miso soup and salad. We also ordered the edamame. I highly recommend this place.“
“AWESOME FOOD AND SERVICE!!! Please support this small business!!! The food is awesome and at the best price point!!! I had the black garlic ramen and I thought it was great! My mom had the tonkotsu ramen and she loved it! We shared the rainbow roll and thought it was VERY good and fresh! The owners are very nice and hospitable. Their kindness shows in their delicious food. They have lunch specials every day for $9.99. My family and I will be trying their lunch specials next time! Also, if you're looking for somewhere that caters for big parties, they offer catering too! If you decide to come to Suki Suki, it's kind of hidden away and next door to Little Skewer. But it's DEFINITELY WORTH IT!!“
“Visited on Sunday around 4pm. Not too crowded. Nice, cool air conditioning, especially on an 80° day. Everything was very clean and well organized. Nicely designed with greys and whites with overhead lighting that is just bright enough. Located next to Smart and Final market. Plenty of parking. Fun crew sitting at the sushi bar with others at tables, taking in baseball, basketball, and auto racing on the four 4k screens. Salvador is still the head chef (from Asahi Sushi, at the same location previously). Going on 24 years, now a sushi master. You really need to try the Manogo Salvador roll named after him...sushi gold! His brother, Cesar, is now working alongside him Mon. and Tues. First course: cold, thin sliced seaweed (piled high) salad with house dressing and a mound of spiral daikon (mild white radish) and very thin, dressed spicy crab slices on the side. Water and flavorfull green tea. 2nd: 2 Salmon sashimi hand roll (cone shaped dried sea weed) and 1 tuna sashimi hand roll filled with many marinated bite-size pieces, rice, and a few thin sliced vegetables. Mixed soy sauce and wasabi in a very small dish and used this as a dipping sauce. Needed some more napkins at this point. :-) Hot tea was coming in handy, too! 3rd: 4 shrimp tempura, hot out of the fryer. Shrimp are shaped so they are about 5 inches long. Made more dipping sauce for this! Man, that was good! Drank more tea(asked for reheat) and talked about when we were coming back. Service and food were top-notch. Music was a mix of different eras. It sounded good, just loud enough so you could still conversate. Sorry, no pics. We were hungry! :-) Hope to see you there!“
“I will definitely recommend this place. The food is excellent, and the price is very affordable. Even on these days where everywhere else try to cut on portions, here you will get very satisfied. The staff is always friendly. I will definitely stop by again.“
“This has become our go-to sushi place! All of the servers are super nice, attentive, accurate, and helpful. Each time we go, the fish tastes fresh, and the variety of different menu items has us trying new things each visit. My favorite roll is the Sour Patch, and my hubby gets the Butterfly, which is a sashimi platter with yummy toppings & sauce. The garlic edamame always tastes great and the edamame is snappy - never soggy. The best dessert is the tempura fried banana with ice cream. YUMMY!!! We highly recommend Ginza!“
“Alex was amazing, great service small hole in the wall how ever the Quality of the food is better than some huge sushi places. I would definitely be coming here and making this of our main stops after services on Sunday. Thank you Toyo sushi& roll Great place to come have lunch after “
“This place is a gem! I've only been here twice in the last month and I've been impressed both times. When you arrive, you're greeted by a nice lady at the counter who takes your order. Both my boyfriend and I have gotten poke bowls and the fish is fresh! The serving size is also decent keeping me full for hours. This time around, the lady at the counter was kind by giving us complimentary miso soups! Can't go wrong with that. I'm excited to come back again! P.S. The restroom is located in the back behind the counter and through the kitchen.“
“Akafuji is a hidden gem located in a strip mall. While you might not expect much, the interior is modern and simplistic with a clean feel. Almost every seat is at the sushi bar, so you get the full experience when ordering omakase. They do also have some outdoor seatings, so noted if I ever want to bring my pup along with me --huge plus.We ordered the Omakase Special ($50), which came with 8 premium nigiri pieces and a blue crab handroll. To start off, we had a miso soup, salad, and chawanmushi. Then the nigiri came starting with the halibut. The following came in a set of two before finishing off with the seared miso black cod and handroll. Each nigiri was beautifully decorated with the right amount of sauce and toppings that you really didn't even need the soy sauce to go with it. Such an underrated spot --come get their omakase, you won't regret it!“
“Food was amazing, it was quiet and mostly empty when I went. There was a moment nearing the end of my meal when a Karen came in and sat herself, and started to hassle the server over mistranslation of words (from Japanese to English) so she yelled at them and stormed out. Either way, dinner and a show. And a complimentary miso soup would go back again for sure. Service 10/10“
