Had lunch here with the husband and we were both extremely satisfied with our meals. We ordered the chu toro carpaccio, house ramen, chicken katsu, fire dragon roll and double toro roll. The fish was fresh, the katsu was banging and the ramen hit the spot. I wished the toro was a little more fatty and my husband was hoping the ramen would be spicer, but both were still good. Come for lunch, which was when we came, to get their lunch special. A specialized lunch menu that includes 2 appetizers (smaller portion than regular), a main dish or roll, and a drink.

The service was great so we will definitely be back. They do offer omakase that requires advanced reservations, so hopefully we’ll get to try this out soon.“

“Ran in for a quick takeaway order. I'm impressed bc the food is tasty, the staff is polite, the dining room is cute, and the business is environmentally friendly.

Food: $8 for 2 pc sake (salmon) nigiri. Fish portion is huge and fresh. Sushi rice is prepared and seasoned well. $13 for chicken karaage. Super crunchy, marinated thigh pieces served with lemon and spicy mayo. Also a good portion.

Packaging: My to-go order was packaged in all recyclable or biodegradable materials! This is something I dont always see here in Sacramento. Staff also asked what supplies I might need (chopsticks, wasabi, soy sauce) to cut down on waste. Really appreciate these conscientious business practices.

Ambience: There is bar seating by the sushi chef. More bar further away. Tables are spacious and comfy looking. TVs showing sports games when I went in. I'll definitely be back for dining in to have a beer and dinner! See you soon.“

“Amazing place. Food was incredible. Take the jump and get a sushi taco! We tried the chicken, salmon, and tuna sushi tacos. The shoyu ramen was really satisfying— great flavor and serving size. If you’re just having sushi tacos, you’ll probably need 1.5.

There is a good selection of mochi treats but they come from Osaka Ya on 10th downtown. Only thing I've found is produce is a bit hit or miss. There is a good variety of bento boxes.“

“Been coming here for years. The owners are super nice. There are several business clustered together and sometimes parking can be a challenge. The teriyaki chicken is plentiful and cooked just right. I love their teriyaki sauce. Every place makes their sesame chicken different, theirs is thin and crunchy, seems like a pounded out fillet of breast. Plenty of tables if you wish to stay and eat, I usually call ahead for a to go order.“

“Ate in and the food was decent. Got a to go order for my family member and it has zero sauce and was obviously rushed and thrown together lazily. The to-go should at least resemble the dine in food. The exact same roll ended up looking like crap and had no sauce at all. What a bummer..when you pay a premium for sushi you should get decent sushi. This was crap and I can't believe they served it to us after we had just spent a bunch of money eating in. We won't be back. If getting to go, check your food. They do not care about the customer and will sneak awful rolls into your bag without care.“

“Very surprised to see a drive thru at a teriyaki chicken restaurant. To much of our surprise, it was a quick and easy process in the drive thru. Food came out hot and delicious. Ordered the chicken egg rolls but didn’t see any chicken mostly cabbage but it still had a decent flavor. I appreciate that they supplied eating utensils and napkins even though we forgot to ask for any.“

“Best Japanese food I've ever had. Everything we ordered were delicious. I gobbled down that Hawaiian poke salad quickly, the spicy edamame was perfectly spiced and flavored. My ten-year-ole kid, who's usually picky, said this is the best place she's ever eaten at and would give it ten stars if she could. Everyone was satisfied with their food. I think part of the reason everything is so yummy to us is that we're Southeast Asian and usually prefer more spice and seasoning in our food. Japanese food tends to be blander than our usual palate but the food at this place is just perfect.“

“Gift card scam. Mikunis implemented a new protocol in 2022. Any gift cards that were purchased before a certain (unknown) date, and now utilized, will be zeroed out. Back story: I attempted to use a gift card today (April 2023) and was informed it had a zero balance. The server kept my card. I had a gut feeling, asked for the card back. I spoke to the manager about how I could have a zero balance when I had never used it. The manager informed me that corporate zeroed out all gift cards that weren’t used. In order for me to get my money on the gift card, I have to call corporate headquarters and “request” an inquiry; which I did to no avail. It’s not about “expired” gift cards. It’s about not informing consumers ahead of a new rule that gift cards be zeroed out before a certain date. I’ve used 10 year old gift cards at other restaurants without any problem. Biggest scam ever.“
