“I wanted to try authentic, traditional Palestinian food to show my solidarity with their people's struggle for freedom. I was visiting my sister in Sacramento, and she recommended Basha Taste of Jerusalem. They start you off with complimentary fresh baked flat bread and olive oil which tasted divine! We ordered the "Mansaf" lamb and chicken dish, and the "Maqluba" upside-down chicken and rice dish. It was absolutely phenomenal! The portions are very generous and we had lots of left overs to-go that tasted just as great the next day. I loved the interior décor and the staff were very friendly. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town to try more dishes that are not common at generic "Middle Eastern / Mediterranean" restaurants.“
“Wanted a gyro, but couldn't locate it on the menu. That was a good thing, because I asked for a recommendation, and the gentleman recommended a chicken shawarma, and it didn't disappoint! Fresh crisp veggies, lots of flavor and the sauce was excellent!“
“Delicious flavorful food with a good portion. I had the falafel rice plate and large special fries. I enjoyed the falafel rice plate- it came with side salad, fries, and hummus and pita. The flavors were bright and bold without being overpowering. The fries on the rice plate were seasoned well. I wish my side order of special fries were seasoned more though. Some seeds or texture in the falafel threw me off a bit. The service was fairly quick. The truck is huge! I'd order food from here again.“
“This place is a hidden gem! Came here a couple months ago and had the lamb shank and was absolutely blown away by the generous portions, flavor and freshness! Came again for the second time to try their kabobs and was mind blown once again! Most Mediterranean places take a while to prepare the food but here it was surprisingly fast! Not only is it great food but also amazing service, the staff make you feel welcome and go above and beyond. I can't wait to go back!“

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this hidden gem, and I was blown away by the freshness and flavor of the food.Mediterranean Nachos and FriesI tried the Mediterranean nachos and fries, which are a customer favorite. “There is a lack of Greek places in sac so I'm excited about this new place. I got the gyro platter. It was seemingly fresh but needed some more flavor. The rice was not good, the salad was meh and the tzatziki didn't taste like anything. I would definitely come back though and maybe try a pita wrap or something.“
“I have this daydream about opening my own space and it’s usually been about a bar, but walking into this place was like walking into that daydream, but better. I absolutely loved everything from the decorations to the music to the belly dancer to the tea.We had an awesome time celebrating our wedding anniversary with dinner and then coming here to hookah. You could tell there were some regulars and I really liked that. The tea was absolutely spectacular. We got jasmine green tea which is my favorite. It had actual jasmine flower in it and the tea was perfectly brewed. I read someone else’s review of the green tea having hints of cardamom so I’ll definitely need to try that next time. So happy we checked this place out!“

“Everyone needs to eat here. The food is delicious, affordable, and so fresh! The people who run it are very kind and the the pita bread is fresh baked and still hot from the oven. This is a hidden Sacramento gem! My new go-to when I'm in this neighborhood.“
“I think I've eaten at every Persian place in Sacramento by now, as well as a few of the Iraqi and Afghani places, and for sure there is a lot of great kabob and rice to be had at many of these places. I would rate Famous Kabob recently as one of the best. The Koubideh (ground beef) Kabob they serve is nicely cooked, tender, juicy, and the rice is always very good. I think I've been to this restaurant 6 or 7 times by now, and I'd say the quality has improved in the past couple of years. It's definitely a go-to when I need to place group orders for pickup.“
“Finally got to try this place out after driving by so many times and seeing so many people out there waiting. I got the falafel platter and a side of fries. So flavorful and so good! You also get a lot of food and best part? It tastes even better the next day.“
