Going to miss this place. I've long said it's the best fried chicken in sac and it's going to be sad to see them leave. I got the hot chicken sandwich and it was as close to perfect as I've eaten. Only thing was that the chicken was a little small on the bread and I prefer pickles instead of cucumbers. But this is a must get. The spice level was perfect!
Listen everyone. I love fried chicken. LOVE. Love it hot. Love it cold. Love it. So I've had South on my "to eat" list for years now. And never got a chance. Until recently. With their announced closure, I knew I had to go. Clearly, I got the fried chicken, and let me tell you, this place makes a mean fried bird. My husband and I opted up get the 9 piece meal, with kale greens, mac and cheese, potato salad, an order of hush puppies, and a biscuit to share. Was it too much food...read full review

Went Friday June 24, it was super busy as this is the last week of the restaurant being open. It was hot and a bit smoky inside, But the food didn't disappoint !!! Happy we got to experience the food one last time.
