“Clean, inviting, and friendly. I had such a great experience dining here. My waitress Christine was very attentive, friendly, and had great recommendations. Really enjoyed everything we got! The poppers & pickle spears were nicely breaded. Great crunch and flavor! The inside of the poppers was creamy and flavorful. The garlic noodles were so so good and not too garlicky, just the right amount! The boil itself definitely stole the show with its combinations of flavor and spice that just balanced each other out nicely. Definitely will be back!“

“Indulge in the best and most delicious Creole cuisine in town, offering a wide variety of choices at seasonal prices compared to other Creole restaurants in San Diego. Located in a safe area with plenty of parking space, the service has been consistently attentive during all three of our visits, even during peak times. It's the perfect spot to enjoy an exceptional meal with friends after a long workweek.Don't miss their 'caviar'—it's a satisfying meal on its own. Their creamy and flavorful crayfish étouffée never disappoints, and the blackened catfish is fresh and perfectly balanced in flavor, making it a highly recommended option for a healthier yet comforting meal. The pasta jambalaya offers a unique twist on the classic dish. Overall, it's a truly great place to savor the mouthwatering flavors of Creole cuisine.“

“My late mother was from New Orleans. When mom died, so did the wonderful food that I grew up loving. I thought I was through with my southern diet. Well, I was wrong. The Boiling Crab is as close to Moms cooking as I know I'll ever get, and it is almost the same. I just ate two servings of Gumbo. This Gumbo is stuffed with sausage, shrimp, and okra, and served with rice in or on the side. Tabasco sauce is supplied in packets. I used one on the Gumbo, and later, I used one on my ice cream. The broth was the perfect blend of the ingredients, with a taste if it's own, not overpowered by any one of the ingredients. At my age, it is hard to find something to excite me, but I can't wait until dinner tonight. This meal brought back memories, but even if I had just eaten it for the first time, I would rate it number one. The Boiling Crab is not only a restaurant, to me, it is an art gallery. The chefs are artists. The servers appear to enjoy seeing you happy, and management appears to not be willing to let you leave unhappy. If you love seafood, you can't do better than "The Boiling Crab." Thank you for the great food. I'll see you again tonight.Parking: Located in what was once a bank. It sits in a shopping mall. There is parking everywhere. Including in front of the restaurant.“

“Since I came to San Diego, I thought I had to eat seafood at least once, so I visited Crab Hut.I think there are 3 branches in San Diego. What we ordered was the Seafood Basket, which came with various types of seafood in plastic bags.If I hadn't experienced it in Korea, I would have been embarrassed.I ordered 1/2 Mad spicy, and it was spicy enough that even elementary school girls who can't eat spicy food would enjoy it.hmm. Five stars. It's the best seafood I've ever eaten!!“

“I went to Crab Hut and I had a pretty good experience. I've been there before so I pretty much got what I expected. The good part is at the food was outstanding and the team service was pretty good. The part that maybe wasn't so great was how long it took for the waitress to get around to us. Sometimes we would watch her as she was having conversations with other workers and laughing a lot and overlooking us as I was trying to flag her down. That was a little frustrating. The food tasted great though and yes it was messy but it's supposed to be messy lol. They were very nice to my children and I liked that a lot. The price is heavy though. If you're going to go there you had better bring about $250. Especially if it's going to be a family of 4. You're not spending less than $200.Vegetarian options: I honestly didn't see any vegetables except potatoes and corn. I can't confirm that there are vegetarian options.Parking: If you go on it's going to be a nightmare to park. I'm not going to lie man it's so hard to park that you will be circling that tiny parking lot forever. This was probably the worst thing about the trip.Kid-friendliness: They are very nice to kids. This was probably my favorite thing about the service. My son kept grabbing at the waitress and she just laughed and played with him and the other guys who were cleaning up tables or also making funny faces and laughing with my son and he's two years old.Wheelchair accessibility: Yes it is wheelchair accessible.“

“Great food and service, but a tiny bit overpriced compared to other spots like Submarine Crab. However, it was packed so folks clearly don’t mind!Highlights:-The corn is sweet and crunchy and well marinated-tons of sausage if you order the addon-seafood was good (but honestly all the seafood at these boil restaurants taste the same, so it’s the other things that differentiate)-the boiled veggies (separate order) was surprisingly goodLowlights:Loose gloves, no little trash can for throwing seafood shells away“

“Last weekend, we decided to go for a crab bake at Crab Hut and ended up sampling two of their enticing dishes. The restaurant was a well-organized space adorned with a charming oceanic theme. We ended up sitting outside in the sun and it was amazing, although the interior was equally inviting. Parking was a breeze, especially if you opt for the southern end of the lot rather than vying for a spot directly in front of the establishment. Our dining experience kicked off with stellar customer service. It's worth noting that a gratuity of 18% is automatically included in the bill—an arrangement we found reasonable given the exceptional service we received. In fact, our waitress went above and beyond, promptly seating us with a warm smile and attending to our needs with remarkable attentiveness. Despite the tip being pre-added, we felt inclined to add more as a token of appreciation for the outstanding service.Turning to the food, we started with a serving of calamari and fries. While the portion sizes justified the price, we found the calamari lacking in flavor and seemed overcooked. However, the fries salvaged the appetizer, boasting a satisfying crunch and delightful seasoning. For our main courses, we opted for the Spicy Cajun Pasta and the Spicy Jambalaya. Both dishes were executed flawlessly, with the pasta perfectly cooked and infused with just the right amount of spice to complement the succulent shrimp. The Jambalaya, teeming with an abundance of seafood and meat, surprised us with its robust flavor profile. Though I would have preferred a bit more heat, the dish still left a lasting impression. In conclusion, our dining escapade at Crab Hut left us with a generally positive impression. While the appetizer fell short of expectations, the exceptional service and well-prepared entrees more than made up for it. We look forward to revisiting Crab Hut in the future for another taste of their enticing seafood offerings.“
