“Bale French Sandwich is a tiny shop tucked away in Mira Mesa Square serving quick Vietnamese dishes like banh mi, fried rice, egg rolls, and boba.

We enjoyed the charbroiled pork and lemongrass chicken banh mi - a great value at $6.25 each. The bread had a great crust: thin, very crisp, and flaky. The pickled carrot and daikon added nice texture and brightness, while the raw jalapeños brought the right amount of heat. The egg rolls were also a hit, with a peppery flavor and a crisp outer shell.

Note that this is a grab-and-go spot with a strictly business vibe. The service is efficient, so have your order ready. There is only one small table for snacking and two benches for waiting. They also offer extensive party tray options if you order in advance.

There is plenty of free parking, though the lot gets competitive on weekends due to the nearby Aldi and Lucky Seafood Market.“

“Doesn’t look like much walking past, but WOW this was amazing and fresh Mexican food- I had the TamaElote- a perfect tamale topped with generous deconstructed Elote topping- two of my favorite things all warm and happy for only $5, it fed me better than the much more expensive meals we’d spend for a similar meal at a fancy restaurant. Perfect for walking around old town, but worthy of a destination in itself!“

Every time I walk in I am always greeted and never rushed when ordering . I personally love there fruit waters and making my own chip bowl. “Came here for the first time and got a burger combo and a California burrito I could tell the Burger was going to be good as soon as I saw the bun once I got to the meat it confirmed everything. The California burrito was better than most taco shops around the menu is so fun. I cannot wait to come back and try more. This is a must try location. I was not disappointed at all even the service was immaculate. !!!! I do not normally write reviews, but trying this place I just had to. It’s that good. I will definitely be coming back and telling everyone I know . This is a hidden gem between the 7-Eleven and the liquor store. If you’re thinking about trying this place, you will not regret it.“

Wife and I get a Pastor and a California Burrito and eat half of each. Try their hot sauces, red and green both.

Place is small but runs quickly and smoothly.

Parking is a bit tough but it's not their fault, the lot is barely 12 spaces. Don't let that stop you, just go a little further to the larger lot and walk about 30 seconds for your burrito. It's worth it.“

There is always 2 new soups daily and all of them are absolutely delicious. Everything is fresh and fully customizable. “This place is located in the food court inside 99 Ranch in Balboa Ave. They have tables to sit in. I ordered the 3 piece chicken combo meal. Salt & pepper flavor.
