Great brewery in North Park, San Diego. They have a varied menu, friendly staff, and spacious venue. Our flight of beer came with a free collective glass to take home, the beers here were decent, but the neighborhood has much better options around.
Mike Hess has been around for a long time now. They make decent IPAs but also always have a bunch of other beer styles. Some of them are pretty hit and miss for me, but I always find something I like. When you walk through the entrance you walk on a platform that is above the brewery in order to get to the tasing room. It's pretty unique and very cool. The Raspberry Umbrix has a wonderful finish with definitely raspberry tones. Ales for ALS is a light pool pounder. Mandatory Fun is a good classic IPA but don't know about double IPA. Lager Del Sur is a good version of a classic Mexican Lager. Pershing Pills is also a classic pulsner. The trivia Thursday and Taco Truck Thursday are a big hit!
