“I’ve frequented plenty of breweries on the west coast, and I have a handful of favorites but East Village is another level. I literally have not have a bad beer from them, and that’s especially impressive since they typically drop a new beer a week. The owners are great, always happy to geek out with you. The staff is friendly and attentive, makes it feel like your hanging at a friends house. I just cannot speak highly enough of this place. Ketch Brewing Brew Pub Brewery • $$
7889 Ostrow St, San Diego

“Very small place to get there early if you have a small group of 6 or more. Beer is ok from a ale drinkers perspective. We had the collaboration IPA they made with Burgeon brewery and that was by far the best they had on tap. Food was good but the pickled jalapeno poppers were a let down. To be fair it's hard to find fresh jalapeno poppers in this area. Most everyone uses frozen, pickled and breaded jalapeno poppers. Sad. Vib hear is quaint and mellow with an industrial look.“

Seek Beer Co. Brewery • $$
3052 El Cajon Blvd suite C, San Diego

“Allow me to explain the reasons why I love Seek Brewing. First, the beer is expertly brewed, clean fermentations, with proper fermenting times creates a level of lager brewing that few can match in San Diego. Every lager has been outstanding. This is why you’ll see other long time SD brewers hanging out here. Not a lager drinker? No worries, the line of pale ales, West coast IPAs and hazy IPAs should fulfill just about everyone’s drink needs, even a few fruited sour beers are available. The Room: Small cozy interior with a small bar and a few tables. Bright with a modern simple design logo that bucks the trends for most breweries. The Patio: This is a large outdoor communal space (shared by the three breweries) that offers picnic tables, comfy patio chairs, a janga set, dart boards, and corn-hole boards. Food trucks and pop-up food vendors provide the eats. It’s a great place to enjoy the SD sunshine. The People: This is the best part, from the owners to the warm welcoming beer-tenders who make you feel like a part of the family. One particular staff member is the amazing Savanna whose personal good natured charm could melt an iceberg, she’s knowledgeable about the products and truly a great beer-tender.Get some!“

“We went for happy hour and had a great time! The beer is exceptional! We tried the limited edition golden ale " King Cake" and it was so good we asked the beertender if she could persuade the brewers to make it a year round offering. We also tried the rich creamy stout which was fabulous! That team can brew! Our beertender was great also ( very patient while we perused all of the offerings and happy to answer our questions about bitterness and hoppiness). The taco truck smelled amazing but we already had dinner reservations so we'll try him next time. What a great local brewery!“

The Lemon Cello is my personal favorite with its sweet and delicious flavor. The flight samplers are a good value for the quantity of drinks they give you. GOAL. Brewing Brewery • $$
3052 El Cajon Blvd Suite 101, San Diego

“I tried the Buko Pandan Hazy IPA on draft at LHK Noodle Bar in Mira Mesa and it was DELICIOUS so I had to make a stop to the brewery in North Park to grab myself some cans!! I grabbed 2 sets of 4 cans and it came out to be $47.82 which is $5.98 per can. I typically don't enjoy IPAs because they're too hoppy for me, but on draft the coconut taste came out so much more prominent than the hops, it was magical. I feel like the cans tasted hoppier IMO, but it was still very well crafted and incredibly unique especially with the vibrant green Pandan color :0) Since I was just running in and out, I didn't see any cans of their Ube Stout available so I wasn't able to try it. I will definitely come back for that though, it sounded delicious as well.“

Prestons’ Ginger Beer Brewery •
8680 Miralani Dr UNIT 126, San Diego

“Stopped by because I saw the roll-up door was open. Usually they're closed when I've been in the area. I was blown away by the owner's sweet hospitality, welcoming me in even though he wasn't technically open and was preparing a delivery to a local high-end restaurant. (BTW, his ginger beer is sold at Seaside Market!) He told me a little about his story, how he got started and offered me a few samples to try, beginning with the award-winning flavor that had yuzu, mint, and something else. It was yummy! Looked like there were around 8-10 flavors on tap including a POG, matcha and ube. How fun is that! If you stop in on a typical day, there is some seating, merch to purchase and various flavors of ginger beer on tap to try. And the best part is you can take some for the road. I wasn't a fan of the ube flavored ginger beer but go try it and decide for yourself. There's gotta be some fans otherwise it wouldn't be featured.“

“The beer choices were good and the bar tender was excellent at helping to help me narrow it down for a flight of 4 beers. Don't listen to google, it was totally open on a Wednesday at 3 when google said they are closed on Wednesdays. The coco ono ipa was delicious! I'm not an ipa girl, I dislike hoppy beer, but the subtle coconut flavor made the beer delightful. But hands down favorite, so good I said "f*** that's delicious" after my first sip was the Ziggy Stardust sour. A must do while in Dan DiegoSide note: cleanest bathroom I've ever seen in a brewery, across the whole US. It's unisex, but it is clean! Thank you, the ladies, we appreciate that!!!“

They have a great variety of beers/lagers/ales/cider and sodas. They don't serve food but they have a revolving set of food trucks so there is usually good food to go with the beer. Friendly staff and fun place to hang out with friends. Parking does get tight when they have events, but most of the nearby businesses are deserted to you can still find parking. Lots of noise from Miramar airbase with F-18c/d frequently taking off and landing. No issue with the USMC, but it does make it hard to have conversations or hold a more formal event.“

Protector Brewery Brewery • $$

“Pretty cool venue!! Attended a work holiday party and had this brewery reserved for our department! Protector Brewery is one of many breweries in Miramar! There were outdoor/indoor seating and parking onsite or on the street. I'm not much of a beer drinker, but they had a decent selection on the menu board from IPAs to even fruity beers. I also hear they are all organic and gluten-free! I loved knowing that the brewery is owned by a Navy veteran and it's perfect for our company party since we work with veterans. The interior is welcoming, laid back, warm, and dim. It's a perfect spot for a small group or a date. The staff was also friendly and upbeat. They were approachable and seemed to enjoy being there. They had a taco truck with amazing Mexican dishes and even vegan options! I think the food trucks vary on the day. They also had fun games (i.e., dart board, kegs) and karaoke if that's your jam. It's super chill, intimate, and small. I need to go back and actually try their beer. LOL Overall, it was the perfect spot for a holiday party!“

“Great location, beer and views. They don’t serve food but you can bring food from nearby places (we went to Mitch’s next door). I had both the Try This Pale Ale and the Petunia IPA and loved both. The only negative was that I brought home a 4-pack of the Try This but I didn’t taste good (very malty and not happy anymore). Checked the canned date and it was over 4 months old :( The flavor was not the same anymore which was disappointing. I usually check the dates on the bottom of the can when I buy beer and the liquor store as they don’t sort out older ones. I didn’t think that I needed to check the date at the actual brewery’s tasting room but I definitely will in the future. Aside from that, it was a nice visit with great atmosphere on a sunny San Diego day!“

The space is pretty big, they have a food vendor on site, plenty of seating, a handful of games, a TV or two, a little patio, really friendly staff, and ultimately delicious beer that almost never disappoints! I especially love that they have Filipino, island, tropical inspired beers on rotation. Personal favorites over the years are anything with Ube, smoothie styles, milkshake IPAs, and I usually like their unique releases they've had like li hing and melona.
