First time here. Searches for best baklava in San Diego and this place was number one on multiple sites. I went and got an assortment of wonder desserts and all were amazing! Super yummy all around. I will say it was a bit loud in the store so a little hard to hear the clerk.
Mr. Baklava is a Middle Eastern pastry shop hidden inside the Balboa International Market. There are at least 30 different kinds of exquisite pastries! Each one looks especially tempting, like a mouse falling into a cheese jar for my sweet-toothed boyfriend. I run into this little baklava shop inside of Balboa International Market. Amazing baklava! They have more traditional looking desserts beyond the cut baklavas. We have had some baklavas from other Turkish baklava shops in the County, but this one is the best so far. Of course, much richer and better than the pre-packaged ones we can buy at Costco or Trader Joe's. Lot's of pistachios, which I understand is more Turkish style.
