“The lounge is conveniently located within Hilton San Gabriel. It was spacious and comfortable. The staff were inviting, friendly and extremely efficient. They took wonderful care of us. For lunch we ordered: clam chowder, Caesar salad, beef taquitos with guacamole dip and Parma ham and mozzarella flat bread. All the dishes were perfectly seasoned and delicious. My only two suggestions would be to serve crackers with the soup and maybe change the flatbread sauce to a marinara. I had an old fashioned with my meal which I really enjoyed. The drink was well balanced. The lounge is a non tipping restaurant. It’s odd I know, at least for me it is. The tip was already added to the final bill and we paid approximately 65+“
“a go-to chinese spot for late-night cravings. came here on an empty stomach one night and had one of my best chinese food experiences. mongolian beef, mapo tofu, and fried rice met my expectations! if you're looking for late night chinese food, this is your spot. prices were also reasonable.“
“How this place isn’t the most talked about restaurant in LA will blow my mind. Incredible. Fantastic. I would eat here everyday if my wallet could afford.Get their Lomo Saltado taco and you will dream about it for the rest of your days. You’ve been warned.“
“A beautiful date night spot where you can sit beneath string lights nestled in an alleyway, listening to live music (plus, they have outdoor heaters!). Plates are tapas style and the bar is full, with an advantage for mezcal enthusiasts. Bonus- The wait staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They recommended some drinks for us to try and gave us some suggestions on the entrees. The drinks were great and we recommend the sea bass! Nice atmosphere with good service and lots of mezcal.“
“Cute little bar in the neighborhood! As a fellow yelper said, a great place to do before going "out out" if you know what that means. Neat, modern, kinda dark, good mix of people. Come for the drinks, stay for the interesting people you might meet. This unassuming bar was a pleasant surprise and I'd come back again.“
“Hidden away in the city of Los Angeles is this amazing bar that serves one of the tastiest omakase. Entering the bar, you see a bar top that seats approx 10-12 people, with a open kitchen vibe. My partner and I had a great time. The Sunday crew was very nice and attentive, engaging with the customers and making things fun! The selection of fish was amazing, definitely a different experience compared to other omakase establishments I've been to.Parking was very easy since they provided easy simple instructions on their website :). Will definitely visit again on a Sunday ??Parking: Easy to access garage and the elevator close by. Very nice :)“
“One of the meals I’ve had. The whipped feta was a dream with maybe my favorite pita I’ve tasted. Carrots were perfect. Sweet potatoes were delicious but definitely have a kick if you’re sensitive to spice. Steak frites were best fries I’ve ever had. Drinks were strong and so tasty. Can’t wait to go back“
“The church-turned-restaurant has a clear sky above, creating a lazy and comfortable environment. The service staff kindly introduced the menu of the day. California cuisine is a fusion of Asian and Western food characteristics. The complimentary bread is very similar to Asian double cheese bread, and the cheese taste is very fragrant. Strawberries & burrata cheese is like a variation of the classic Italian mozzarella cheese and tomato salad. It is quite beautiful and delicious. The Day Boat Scallops have a crispy topping and a tender center. It has a rich texture and is paired with spiced pumpkin puree, caramelized carrots and vegetables. , gooseberry, with diverse and harmonious flavors. Next time I’m in Los Angeles, I want to try other interesting meals!“
“I made a Resy reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Street parking was accessible and convenient a few steps away from the location. Once we walked in, I was greeted by first name by the host behind the bar who directed us to follow Lisa, our server, to our table for two in the garden patio. Once seated, she asked if we'd like to turn on the heated lamp, which we appreciated. We ordered the Hunan BBQ Pork Ribs (so meaty and smoky), Chilled Sesame Peanut Noodles (which my wife commented would be an ideal dish during a warm summer night), Lemongrass Chicken Banh Mi (served on a toasted, pillowy brioche bun), paired with a side of the Shoestring Fries. Lastly we enjoyed an unexpected gift from the kitchen - Shanghai Triple Onion Noodles, which was a warm dish in contrast to the other cold noodles. As a thoughtful gesture, the bartender, offered us two glasses of champagne to acknowledge our occasion. To cap off our unforgettable meal, we ordered the Hochija Tres Leches and Honeymoon Bread Pudding. The perfect conclusion to a delicious and well-thought out dinner. For a location with a history dating back to the prohibition era (informed by Lisa), I'm glad to see it's continuing it's life as a bar with an innovative kitchen. As I mentioned last night, the dinner was great but the service was even better! Thank you for making our anniversary dinner memorable :)“
“A very pretty friend and I decided to try Bestia on a Thursday at 5pm. After arriving and entering an outdoor patio that leads into the indoor seating, we couldn't help notice the bright blue wall, nicely trimmed tree, outdoor string lights all coming together to make a quiet eating experience but my pretty woman friend wanted us to experience the inside. Inside was livelier, more people, closely positioned tables, and an open kitchen facing the eating area. Cool modern music that's not too loud. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the coconut red chili oil scallops garnished with herbs and a slice of strawberry. I was pleased with the combination of flavors. Then we shared the bone marrow pasta, which was packed with savory flavors and interesting soft textures. It was delicious. Of course, we had to try the herb ceasar salad everyone raves about when talking about Bestia, and the hype is all true. We then shared a marguarita pizza and let me say this, despite the overly salted tomato sauce, the napolitano style crust elevated the rest of the pizza ingredients. I had old sunglasses: a tequila blanco cocktail with sweet citrus flavors all well balanced, I couldn't just have 1. My pretty friend had unsweetened ice tea, which was refreshing with a subtle fruit flavor. For dessert, we shared the chocolate dessert with a crispy sweet and salty crust that complimented the rich thick chocolate mouse that was just the right amount of sweet. It's the kind of place you take an attractive friend you really, really like. Recommend you plan at least a couple of weeks ahead to get a table because this place has a big following.“
“This place is excellent. Every dish we tried was good, but the standouts for me were the clam toast and crispy potatoes. The bread for the toast was perfect and the potatoes were just the right amount of fluffiness on the inside and crispy outside. My mouth is watering just writing this. The trout was worth getting as well. I will definitely be back to try more dishes.“
“It's been some years since I last dined at Shiro, and I was so delighted that it has fully maintained its superlative status as a first rate restaurant experience on every level. Shiro offers casually elegant dining in a handsome, intimate and stylish storefront in a historic district in South Pasadena. The French-Asian menu offers amazing creations and flavors that will entice and satisfy. My husband had an appetizer consisting of the plumpest, most tasty pan-fried oysters imaginable, as well as a wonderfully seasoned uni pasta. I had sea bass in a rich sauce over Japanese eggplant. The service is impeccable, from the initial greeting and seating to the server and helpers. It is friendly, caring and professional. We will certainly not wait years until our next visit.“
“Nick's always delivers great food at reasonable prices. My wife had the seafood cioppino with was good but it didn't have any scallops or crabs in it. The broth had a lot of cooked tomatoes. I had the meatloaf which was very good. Service was great and the sour dow bread is the best.“
“Met Anderson Paak the last time I was here, but I’d already dubbed this place my favorite local spot long before I danced with my idol under the disco ball.Strictly vinyl. Great cocktail menu.Only negative: their digital branding needs work. Kinda wish they’d hire me to curate their social media. ?“
“I've been to Skaf's a couple of times now. As many reviewers note, the cheese roll is a must get if you love and respect yourself and your happiness. Queso fresco and feta fried in the crispiest wrapper is a match made in heaven.Grape leaves are also a wonderful appetizer, especially if you're like me and could accidentally put away 12 of this if not paying attention.I often find falafel to be disappointing in restaurants and much better homemade, but Skaf's falafel would give even the best homemade falafel a run for its money. The texture is exactly how it should be - crisp, crunchy exterior with a soft (but not gummy) interior. The falafel is also jam packed with flavor and surrounded by insanely well executed tabbouleh (perfectly seasoned), cabbage salad, hummus, and babaganouj. Their wraps are solid as well, but the veggie combo plate is where it's at!Lebanese coffee on the side on a rainy day at Skaf's. Kindest servers as well“
“My girlfriend and I went to our second Valentine's dinner here last week. Not many places can pull off Valentines Day like Bistro 45 does. Everything came out timely and up to their usual standards. Our favorite waiter Mehdi treated us like family. This is the most consistent restaurant we've ever eaten at. Thank you guys so much! Rick and Linda“
“I feel almost like I shouldn't be even writing this review bc THIS IS HOW COOL THIS PLACE IS! So don't come here to work and chill! Don't come to chat with these cool kids Sam and Lydia!! And never come here to enjoy the tea and space. Also, don't bring your friends bc THIS PLACE IS DOPE. Period!“
“Really cute rooftop bar and resto in the middle of the Arts District. Feels like a pool rooftop situation in WeHo without all the pretense and sky high prices. Happy Hour everyday is super clutch. Chips and salsa were plenty tasty. The cocktails on HH are mad with Jose Cuervo which was kinda off putting but for $10 a pop you really can’t complain!“
“Great Pan Roast. The dining room has 40 seats, a bar, or sit at the chefs counter to watch the steam kettle chefs cook your food without having to go to a Palace train station in Vegas. Plus, we didn't have a wait on Sunday at 3pm.Parking: Plenty of parking, plus there's an underground lot.“
“Loved the underground vibes. It was so dark and exciting just getting to your seat. Music was cool but not too loud, which was great for connecting to your date via witty banter and conversation. Sitting at the bar made you feel like the bartender was there just for you. Drinks were balanced, well presented, and delicious.“
“This place was amazing. We came it with a group of 10, and we got set up with a table right away. They got our orders quickly, and then appetizers and food came out just as quick. However, the food was probably the best Korean fried chicken I have had in a long time. The sauce flavors were delicious, chicken was crunchy. Definitely have to try Korean BBQ , Lemon Pepper (dry), and the Sweet Chili Wings. Even the Bulgogi Pizza was great. Great little hole in the wall spot. Will have to come backWheelchair accessibility: It's a dive in location off the strip of the downtown location. Entrance is level with sidewalk, so wheelchair can roll right it, and there are a couple tables that can be set up with wheelchair seating. I can not vouch for the restroom as I did not check.“
“Historical Pasadena restaurant that some people forget about. I hadn’t been here for years until this evening. I’d give 5 stars, but my pork chop was dry and little overcooked. Everything else was wonderful, including the drinks. It’s very intimate inside, but as the restaurant fills up it gets quite loud. The patio is covered and heated, but you may find yourself having to talk over the nearby tables or road noise. Valet parking only, $8 at the time of this review. There is street parking available on Fair Oaks though.“
“Pasadena and downtown this last fortnight. Nostagic deliciousness @parkwaygrill, peerless steaks. Returning there for the fourth time - our first visit was in 1994. Last night we enjoyed @majordomola . Koreanish food, at it's best generous and full flavoured. Standouts include the pork shoulder, duck confit rice and the flambe(d) doughnuts.Next time we'll try their signature rib dish too. Take an appetite and lots of family. Also loved Houstons. Beautiful restaurant with signature French dip sandwich @houstonsrestaurants“
“We had a great time at Escondite, the patio is great, heated & enclosed enough to keep much of the weather from you. The interior reminds me of a few Seattle bars I've been to. Narrow, booths, antler chandeliers. It seems decidedly Northwest. While I enjoyed the gig, the place isn't really set up for a rock/punk show. It seems to me designed for a low key band where patrons would enjoy the music from their seats. Well drinks are about $10 & this place seems to love Malort!“
“Great spot to go with friends for lunch or to take the kids on the weekend. They have a great front patio and full bar, a back room with TVs and games for kids and a back patio that's more private. I've never hosted an event here, but seems like a great spot for a birthday party with friends on a Saturday or Sunday - Margs and tacos and lots of space for socializing. Also very kid friendly! They have a great kids menu with options for picky eaters, frozen lemonade etc. Recommend the mexi cali taco and the Philly cheese steak! So good!“
“I once had a bad experience at the Burbank location. However this place seems to have gotten their act together. The food was fine a little small but fine. But the drinks, drink menu and bartenders were impressive. Attentive bartenders despite the ample size of this place. Knowledgeable too. I had 2 penicillins and a Hemingway daiquiri. My associate had a sidecar bourbon and wine. I've had drinks at the bar and outside where the bartenders open up a window and you are served from the outside. Pretty cool“
“Well, we finally made a decision to come and try this place out. We felt welcomed, the atmosphere was very inviting. At first I was hesitant thinking they were going to have loud music, but it was not loud at all. The food was so good!. I had Camarones mojo de ajo, prepared with their jamming red sauce ?My husband had the Pescado sarrandiado... if I pronounced right. It was big and tasty as well. Both of our plates came w white rice and green leafy salad/Cucumbers.As for the drinks, we had an alcohol beverage it was to point!By the way..their chips and salsas are so good and different compared to others place we've been too.We gotta give a great shout out to Gabby a great and attentive service to the customers. We'll be back again but with family & friends.Gracias Gabby por su 100% servicio ???“
“I recently moved to the area and this was our first time at The Proper Restaurant but it most certainly won't be our last. Everything ... and I mean everything was excellent! I started out with the Proper Clover Club cocktail and it was so refreshing and delicious. My husband and I then shared the white chicken chili which was equally delicious. For our entrees, my husband ordered the miso salmon which was out of this world and I got the chicken piccata. The chicken was cooked perfectly, lightly breaded and the pasta was tossed in a wonderful lemonny piccata. I also had a Malbec which was so smooth, I wanted to order the whole bottle (but alas, I did not). And since everything else was so good, we couldn't leave without ordering dessert -- the warm butter toffee cake. My mouth is still watering thinking about it. I can't wait to go back to The Proper Restaurant!“
“I recently dined at Atmosphere and had a fantastic experience. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was inviting, and the service was impeccable. The man with the black blazer provided exceptional service throughout the evening. As for the food, dinner exceeded my expectations – it was absolutely delicious. I had previously visited for lunch and wasn’t as satisfied, but I’m glad I gave it another try for dinner. I highly recommend trying the dinner menu; it’s definitely worth it!“
“i never leave reviews but this has been so wonderful i had to!! all the staff went out of their way to welcome me in. The patio was adorable. The food came out so quickly, and was delicious (and i moved here from texas!) highly recommend :)“
“We stopped by The Mermaid after dinner for a couple of drinks and had a pretty good time! It was super crowded but we were lucky to find a table to sit at. The place was pretty loud but the playlist was great and the atmosphere and crowd was friendly and a lot of fun. With a cute underwater/sea theme, their menu looks like it typically has a lot of rum based drinks but we had to get the special holiday drinks!Out of the specialty drinks we ordered the Sinterclaws, Seven Siren Swimming, Nauti or Nice, Carols of the Coral, A Merry Little "Coquito", and a Dementa Xmas "Shot." Almost all of the drinks were served in festive glassware like a snowman mug, so cute! My favorite drinks had to be Seven Sirens Swimming with the brown butter fat washed Chihuatan Indigo rum, and the "coquito" like a tiny coconutty eggnog.“
“The service was great. I was shocked that actually Lamb chops were not on the menu. I did not like that it was so dark. I could barely read the menu. I also didn't like that everything was a la carte. They did have chops, on menu of the night. They were pretty good. Def worth the $55. And the sides were good. I had mac, Brussels & mash. All good. We also had a chocolate soufle. It was soo silky & smooth. Definitely worth saving space. I did like the flowers outside & I also recommend a reservation b/c they seem to be pretty popular. Dinner for 3 was $350.“
“Food was good but heavy! This is a loud restaurant and is good if you're wanting a bar style environment with food and drinks. Hence the name - pocha. One of the owners or managers was walking around checking on customers which was so nice. Overall, I enjoyed the food and service was decent but it was a little too heavy for me so I probably won't return.“
“Trendy 21st century meets old Pasadena. I love the design and decor of this place. This is a great spot for orderves and drinks. The owner, is a solid guy who genuinely cares about the people around him, his restaurant and customers.Go support a good man!“
“Litos Cork Room (LCR) is a hidden gem in East Los Angeles, especially for Green Bay Packers fans. The welcoming vibe and unique Packers fandom create an unforgettable experience for any football fan. Drinks are very reasonably priced and bar service is quick in this tiny little Cheesehead heaven. The owners (Junior and his wife) are amazingly welcoming and generous people. Litos feels like a mini-Lambeau in ELA.Highly recommend!?? ?? GoPackGo“
“The burger was incredibly filling, and flavor profile very balanced with arugula, blue cheese, carmelized onions. I got a side Caesar and the croutons are surprisingly memorable. My colleague got the chicken piccatta and said it was delicious. The wait staff was very polite and food came out pretty quick given they seem to have a fairly busy lunch crowd. I can see why people come here repeatedly for lunch. It's reliable, great quality, and decently elegant ambiance.“
“It's really hard for me to give a full 5 stars. Creative cocktails? Check. Imposing whisky collection? Check. Loud music blasting so hard you have to shout your order to the bartender and shout to the person in front of you? Check.I feel like it's a ton of wasted potential. Disregard my inner cocktail nerd wanting to talk about alcohol with the bartenders but it's even hard to talk to the person sitting next to you.I'll probably try again tomorrow and update my review afterwards. All of that said, the drinks are very good so try it even if you end up just drinking them in silence.“
“Treated so great, Great customer service, prices are great everything honestly hit perfect. We where just stopping off the freeway in a trip and this place was a Gem. Highly recommend we might come out just to try it again.Guy behind the counter really cares about setting a great environment. And super quick too!“
“5 stars for the enchanting old-school atmosphere of this cozy establishment. 5 stars for beautifully made cocktails by skilled bartenders. 5 stars for friendly service and knowledgeable servers. The sole reason I'm deducting a star is for the total lack of non-meat dinner options. I made an exception and had a salmon caesar salad that was very delicious, but I so wish they'd throw a vegetarian a proverbial bone. It certainly won't stop me from coming back for a classy drink, but it would make it a hell of a lot easier for me to stick around after I've finished it.“
“Food was great the only thing was that we saw breakfast items on the website menu and we were excited to have breakfast there but when we got there it was breakfast buffet and a dinner/lunch menu. Normally we wouldn't mind but we were craving very specific items and getting paying for a $40 per person buffet and a $20 buffet for our two year old who eats small portions just didn't make sense for us. Seems like the brunch might benefit folks with older kids or those looking to have cocktails with their meals, which wasn't for us. Fun place for a brunch date, breakfast brunch or girls brunch though!“
“This was the perfect pit stop at mine and hubs' date night. We were really going to the Ice House but dipped in here for a quick foodie / drinkie "pre-game." I believe this is family owned and service was every bit like being at your friend's moms house for all the attentiveness. I had a taco de birria and it was deelish!! The consommé was savory but not overpoweringly so. Hubs had a chicken soft taco that looked good. Chips and salsa were tasty and beer was cold!“
“Service was quick and helpful The bar was chill, full but easily got a table there was 6 of us so we had to yell over music a bit to communicate which isn't always funWe were mostly there for food which was great Def a saving grace when everything around there closes at 1030ish The birria quesadilla, chefs kissThe torta was a amazing as wellWould come back again after a night in the strip“
“Love this low key, high end bar. Best of both worlds. Dark and warm atmosphere. Phenomenal happy hour and cocktails. We came for after dinner cocktails and ordered an espresso martini and a "Coffee and Cigarettes" and they were perfect! FYI It's not closed. Try the door!“
“This place is very cool. Aside from the somewhat kitschy "secret" entrance (which was probably much more "in" 10 year ago), they really do create a unique cocktail experience. From the creative menus, perfectly balanced drinks, glass where, and presentation--they really have it dialed in. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. And even the food menu, despite being somewhat limited, left us very happy. Definitely not a weekly hangout, but worth discovering for yourself.“
“purposely came due to the nostalgic aspect of it being in the movie Halloween III. super cool vintage vibe just like from the Tom Atkins scene in the movie. great beers on tap and clean bathroom. bartender had a very nice British accent and was very accommodating. a buddy of mine was with me and we got to hang out with some of the bar regulars. they shared stories about the area and gave us some real nice recommendations in regards to film locations. we took some pics with the bartender and regulars before making our way to the famous church from the movie THE FOG. definitely stop by and grab some drinks if you're in the area !!“
“You guys, this place is awesome! Our party of 6 tried several things from the menu and everything was fantastic. Our bottle of sake was awesome and so was the service. This is a cozy romantic darkly lit space that you should definitely try! Nadia was our server and her recommendations were on point. We can't wait to come back for date night! Be prepared to drop some $$$$ but it's worth it!“
“The place have been on my tagged list to try and I finally dropped in for lunch with my aunt and stuffed ourselves silly with yummy food & fabulous drinks. HIGHLY recommend!FOOD: They have reasonable lunch specials available from which we ordered the chicken enchiladas & al pastor street taco. Both were great & very tasty. I also had a craving for chilaquiles so we ordered that off the regular menu and my cravings were very well satisfied. We forgot to order the highly recommended shrimp empanadas but that’s a perfect excuse for us to go back soon!DRINKS: I mean they are truly one of the highlights of our meal. The signature “La Sexy Michelada” was one of the best I’ve had. It literally had a whole half of a mango seasoned with chamoy & tajin balanced on a tamarind candy stick in a large glass mug liberally rimmed with chamoy & tajin. The michelada itself was perfectly made IMHO. My aunt ordered the Margarita Flight and she thought every single one was delicious & unique. Her personal fave was the cucumber margarita & mine was the mango margarita.“
“Came here to see a show and was blown away by the whole place Super dope dive bar tucked away in the back of a bakery this spot doesn't disappointHad several drinks at the bar and the sever was very attentive and fast even when busy and the prices are decent compared to most bars Will be coming back“
“First off, the prices are pretty reasonable for the area. In the Arts District where you can expect your coffee to be $7, $9ish for a full cocktail is not bad! I've enjoyed everything here, the fried chicken in particular was well-seasoned. The only thing I thought was meh was the fried broccolini, the batter was a little too heavy for me so I didn't finish it.You seat yourself and can either order using the QR code at your table or try to flag someone down, but mobile order seems faster. There is also self-serve water. My only suggestion is that sometimes it can get quite sunny so would be nice to have some kind of shades when the sun is getting low and get in your eyes.Update: sounds like the shade issue has been resolved since I've last gone! Thanks Théron!“
“Very nice place. The outside looks like a ski lodge with fake snow on the roof. Inside is a dimly lit log cabin with wood shavings on the floor and a life sized stuffed bear in a display case by the waiting area. The red cabbage salad was good but overly salty as was the salad dressing. The cheese bread was very flavourful but oily. More butter than cheese. Dinner was a steak and lobstertail combo. The steak was a reasonable sized portion and well cooked. The lobstertail and side potato were enormous, perfectly cooked. There's a reason things are called lumberjack sized. Even the coffee mugs are oversized. Everything was delicious including the chocolate mousse dessert which was the perfect size. Just be aware there are no vegetarian or vegan options here. It's a meat and fish eaters eatery. Well worth it IMO. Would definitely go back.“
