“Do yourself a favor and get both the vegetarian and meat combo! I loved: Mitten shito Yemisser wot Doro wot I liked: After kik Atakilt wot Gomen wot Kei wot Raw Kitfo special (beef) Ethiopian Coffee This was ok: Alitcha wot (dry) Ethiopian Spiced Tea Eating these #goodeats with my bare hands was an awesome cultural experience There are lots of unique flavors and textures and having a large group made things easy to share. Highly recommend dining in as they'll serve you raw kitfo properly. Ethnic rules apply for service and ambiance. It's dark as hell in the restaurant so speak up if you need something or else they'll ignore you.“
“It had been a while since I had Ethiopian food and that's how we ended up here. First of all the waiter who I am also assuming is the owner had the most kind, gentlest heartwarming smile. The kids made a ruckus as usual about eating something new so we just placed an order for one combo with three veggie dishes and one chicken tibs. We also wanted to try the sambusa but they were out of it. We could hear them cooking away in the kitchen while we waited, and it came out in reasonable time. Everything looked and tasted fresh. Though lentils, chicken and vegetables are also common in other cuisines like Indian, the flavors and spices used here seemed different and unique. The injera was beautiful, fluffy and not too sour. I had ordered chickpeas dish as part of the combo but got cabbage instead, when I pointed that out our waiter immediately apologized and came back with a nice big piping hot bowl of the chickpeas dish. For $17, two of us had a pretty filling meal. I kind of felt bad as I found the restaurant mostly empty whenever I had passed by. They make good and fresh food and definitely deserve more attention!“
“5 stars in every category. This has become my new favourite spot! The food is always perfectly seasoned, delicious and fresh. The injera is so good, other places I've gone to make it way too sour, but this one is perfect. The staff is always so friendly and attentive, they really make you feel welcomed! Relaxing atmosphere and lovely decor always make it the perfect place for a lovely meal! Will be a regular now!“
“We really enjoyed our dinner at Zeni. The food was delicious and the portion was very generous. The honey wine (Teje) was spot on! What we really enjoyed the most was the service and the friendly staff. Helen (our server) was very nice and welcoming. She made sure we were happy and provided quality service! We will definitely come back when we visit SJ again!“
“Came here with 5 other friends and enjoyed the food a lot. We shared 2 family platters, which was plenty of food, and we even had a little bit leftover. Would come here again.Parking: The parking lot isn't huge, so we had some trouble finding spots to park. There is a mix of normal pull-in spots and some spots that require parallel parking.“
“Haven't had Ethiopian food in a while, and since my friend and I were missing the old Reheboth Cafe, we were in the search! Luckily, we found this place! It was night time, and right outside, were a bunch of guys just staring at us intensely. I mean, "two Asian guys and a white guy walk into an Ethiopian Cafe" is usually the start of some racist joke, but let me tell you: This place is no joke! The food is great! We ordered the mild spicy level foods because my company couldn't really handle spicy, and even the "weak guy" of us kept eating the spicy stuff, and crying with joy (also from the spices). After we came in though, the sign was immediately flipped to "Close". Don't think they were expecting to serve food on New Years Evening, but there were others just hanging out and having a good time. Only complaint I had, was the tea. Although they used Lipton tea bags, they managed to put the right spices in there to give it a slight hint of that flavor I'm used to when it comes to Ethiopian tea. Not the best, but it wasn't bad considering what they were dealing with. I'd come back again if I was in the area!“
“I tried Ethiopian food for the first time, the food was good and delicious. It might have been my taste but I did not like it. Nothing to take away from the restaurant of there servers, they did a good job of making and handling the food. Service and atmosphere was excellent, we're extremely polite.“
