“Ahhhh, now THIS is SOULFOOD. My taste buds were tantalized by the delicious dishes! I had the prawns, spinach and couscous dish with the beets side salad. Absolute perfection. The chef (owner) was warm and welcoming. I came for the 1st Tuesdays Spoken Word event. It was cozy and warm inspiring. I'll be back.“
“Vegan cuisine (non-religious)Ethiopian cuisine, very interesting to try. The menu has a large QR code on the transparent partition at the cashier counter, and you can see the picture by scanning it. If you have no clue, just choose the most popular area. In addition, they also have traditional staple dishes, which look like burritos but taste like cakes, and they also have rice options. The service is very homely and friendly, it looks like a three-generation family restaurant. The taste can also be adjusted, such as adding spiciness or if you don’t want onions. There are many street residents in this neighborhood, so the lights are a little dim at night. In addition, the sign at the entrance is not very obvious. Although it is a store with large floor-to-ceiling glass, it is easy to miss it at night, so open your Google Navigation.Oh, I forgot to mention: very delicious!Recommend you to give it a try!Paid parking is available on the street.Vegetarian options: Vegan (non-religious)Dietary restrictions: Ethiopian meals“
“Excellent Ethiopian food and the drinks are well crafted. Live jazz make this spot perfect for a pre concert starting point, mid point or last stop. Close proximity to the legendary Fillmore west and Boom Boom Room along with Japan Town.Parking: Garage is 1 block away but not obvious.“
“We love Ethiopian food but this experience was underwhelming. The Gomen Besega (a “lamb dish”) had almost zero lamb, which was quite disappointing. The sambussas were dry and light on filling. The vegetarian combo was our favorite dish.“
“Very down to Earth and very filling food at great price. I shared lentils and tofu tibsie over injera bread, with my omni sister, who also absolutely loved it. Very flavorful with spices (but not too spicy either). Was also topped with a little salad too, which blends well with everything. Updated from previous review on 2024-01-21“
“Walia had delicious Ethiopian food that was full of flavor. It was my first time trying Ethiopian and I was not disappointed. The injera was perfectly sour and complimented the veggie sampler very nicely. The server was attentive and gave us a recommendation on what to order. The ambiance was friendly and welcoming, I'll be back soon to enjoy some more dishes!“
“First of all, this place needs to have a better sign out front and a way of letting patrons know they serve food. I walked in here while bar hopping a while ago, and I had zero idea this place served food at night, I thought it must have been a day time thing because it is technically a bar, and nothing noticeable inside that showed they serve one of the best Ethiopian food in San Francisco.Food, as I mentioned is great, service is good enough for a bar. It was quite empty when I walked in, maybe that's why the atmosphere didn't do it for me, but that's not going to stop me from going back there to get food again.“
“First time trying Ethiopian food and Cafe Colucci did not disappoint. The staff is incredibly friendly and willing to help out. We asked questions about some menu items and the waiter was able to give suggestions. I love the interior of the restaurant and everything was very organized. The food came out pretty quickly, and it was great being able to try out all the different dishes in each of the platters. The injera is super filling so we got full pretty quickly! Will definitely stop by again if I am in the area.“
“Absolutely the best every time!Vegetarian options: I used to get meat options years ago, but always get the veggie combo here.Parking: Meters - pay Mon-satKid-friendliness: Family and kid friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Easy access in and out; tables accessible and ramp to restroom.“
