This place was excellent. Tried an assortment of dishes and sushi and each was delicious. The staff was amazing as well. Very cute - small and chaotic but that's what makes it so charming.
Went here for the first time. Things to know: (1) it's tiny! We got there right at 5:30 when they opened - good thing we did. We got one of the few four-tops. The place was quickly packed. (2) it's inside the door marked "Genji" (a place that's no longer there.) (3) this is not really an izakaya - it's a tiny restaurant with a very big and authentic menu. Authentic Japanese izakaya with a wide selection of delicious Japanese food, everything from ramen and sashimi to curry and bentos. Lots of great side dishes too, I personally enjoy the natto, sushi to pepper and tsukemono. They also have plenty of Japanese beers and sake. Open pretty late too (11pm) for when you get a late night craving for Japanese food.
