“So glad I got to stop by with my parents today. My mom loves to eat red bean mochi/ manju ever since I was a kid. She was excited to get them. They were very fresh, not too sweet, the mochi was nice and chewy. They are close Monday through Wednesday. Will definitely be going back!“
“We came here to celebrate a birthday. We had several orders of sashimi, chef special poke, and some rolls. We were blown away. Bowl K achieved the trifecta of freshness, quality and quantity. We plan to return again and again. This spot is a local gem.“
“We went on Valentine's Day, not the perfect day because there a lot of couples ahead of us but we're able to secure a table, so that's a good thing. The atmosphere and food was absolutely a steal compare so other fancy sushi place. I loved the Philadelphia Roll and the wife liked the avocado roll. Sushi Roll was to go for quality with a budget in mind.“
“Always a phenomenal time here. Constant quality of food and service. The only knock is it's a little smaller and not easy to accommodate larger parties. But the staff here is always amazing and as accommodating as much as possible. My favorite Shabu restaurant in the South Bay.“
“My parents have been going to the location in Menlo Park since before I was born and they were even married. It's a long time family favorite for good value Japanese food. I grew up eating there all the time and finally got a chance to come to the San Jose location after ours closed down a few years ago. The Gombei dinner is always a good option for variety. Also check the special entrees and sides on the board.“
“Came here for dinner on a Saturday night after some rock climbing. Luckily we put our name down right before a bunch of groups came and we got seated in a few minutes. Otherwise it was looking to be at least a 20 min wait. Ordering was through your phone. You also pay on your phone. Water is self serve. Food comes out on disposable plates. So turn around for tables can be pretty quick! They have their system nailed down. All the food came out quickly and it was all delicious. But oh my god the pork katsu. That first bite was heavenly and I will have to order it every single time! We all got a variety from karage to chicken katsu but the pork...always pork from now on. It was tender and just melted in my mouth. And the fry was perfectly crispy. I can't wait to come back!“
“Authentic Japanese izakaya with a wide selection of delicious Japanese food, everything from ramen and sashimi to curry and bentos. Lots of great side dishes too, I personally enjoy the natto, sushi to pepper and tsukemono. They also have plenty of Japanese beers and sake. Open pretty late too (11pm) for when you get a late night craving for Japanese food.“
“YUM. Can I just say... YUM. Okay, here's the rest: I met a friend for dinner here on a weeknight around 5:30 or so & it was perfect. No people. Well, maybe one or two other tables of peoolebut in general, it was early enough to beat crowds (which there later came to be). We were seated right away & ordered using the digital ordering menu system. The place had plenty of seats with a variety of table sizes to accommodate parties of various sizes. Despite ordering digitally, their staff was still very attentive, stopping in to check on our needs often. It was very nice to have someone stay on top of my water needs. I ordered the curry beef udon sizzling plate & it was sizzelicious! Everything was nice & fresh & the meat cooked up quickly so I dove right in. The udon noodles were perfectly textured & I liked the corn which was a fun texture to add to the plate. For those who've never been, this is a place you want to visit in clothes that you don't care getting covered in the smell of oil all over. That sizzle gets all up in your clothes, your hair, your skin if you get your face in there, so don't dress to the nines if you're planning a visit (or do if you love the smell of oil, I guess. You do you.) This place is comparable to Pepper Lunch in Milpitas - love both places. Now I'm hungry.“
“We love this place it is our favorite sushi restaurant in san jose. The sushi chef and servers are super nice they remember us and make us feel like family. Super fresh sushi and friendly service. 49er roll is family fave. also kids love the tempura ice cream.“
“Super small but sushi is sooo good and fresh as well as fast and friendly service, we got 3 orders of Nigiri, 6 classic rolls and one specialty roll and only paid 107Vegetarian options: There are a good amount of veggie rollsParking: Small parking lot.“
“I had a good lunch here today. This is a small hole in the wall that serves up good food. I remember coming here when they had a different name and if I remember correctly, this is an upgrade. The staff was attentive and courteous. I enjoyed the special match tea and the bento box. The salmon was fresh and like butter. I was not as big of a fan of the chicken katsu.“
“I came in for the first time today. I ordered the terryaki chicken cheese sandwich. It was not bad, came with sourdough roll, jack cheese, mushrooms, onion and chicken. Not the best chicken cheese I ever had but it was ok. Very nice guy running the place.“
“We went for dinner. I had a Dragon Roll, and others with me had a Shrimp Tempura Entree and a Bento Box with Beef Teriyaki / Stir Fried Vegetables. For dessert, we had the green tea ice cream and the mochi ice cream. My favorites from the evening were the sushi and the green tea ice cream. The portions were well-sized, the food was tasty, and the server was very kind.It was a great experience, and I would happily go again.“
“A hole in the wall. Sushi day is sharing space with Indian pizza. And there is a store to the left. Laundromat to the right. The location is very sketchy. We decided to do a take out. Oh boy, we were so surprised with a quality and the quantity was very generous too. The lady serving us was very friendly and spoke good English. Definitely ordering from there again!“
“Got the lunch special twice, and it didn't disappoint. All the items were tasty and nicely prepared. I've visited Japan and would say this dish is comparable to what I've eaten there in terms of authenticity. The service was friendly and quick too, despite how busy lunch hour tends to be here. The only thing is that the eating area is not the most spacious. However, I've eaten at smaller places in Japan so it's not a bother to me but worth noting.“
“We came here on a Friday night 3/22 around 5:30pm. We're seated right away at the sushi bar. The place started getting extremely busy and all the tables were occupied by 6:30pm. They had 1 main sushi chef then a second cook came out to help. 2 waitresses on staff that were all working very hard non stop, but can't seem to keep up with the patrons and DoorDash standing by. We ordered the Rainbow roll - very fresh Tiger dragon roll - love this roll Spicy tuna roll - one of the best Kanpachi nigiri - it was okay Hamachi nigiri- very good and fresh Scallop - will not order again Ebi - just okay. We will definitely come back, but on a different day of the week when they not as busy.“
“Located in Vietnam Town, Enjoy Seoul is in a corner of the left building when you pull into the lot. It isn't the biggest, but definitely clean. My mom and I were seated immediately for an early dinner. We are regulars here as my mom thinks this is her favorite Korean restaurant, and I have to say the soup and the stone bibimbap is also probably the best too. It was more than enough food for the two of us, and we had about one serving left to bring home. I think the banchan helps make the meal filling! Service is average, but in a good way. Took a star down because the table next to us got their food first but we ordered before them, and they seemed to order the same thing we did. Overall, definitely will come back again, and if you do go, try not to go during lunch or dinner rush because it's not that big and you might wait a while.“
“The steamer baskets are super! Also great nabe options, especially on stormy days. Service is friendly and fast. Dishes served in correct order. The agedashi is tasty. The staff checks often if anything else is wanted. The plain rice ? is good!“
“I had lived in Japan before. The food was authentic and service was very nice. Definitely will visit again!Oyako udon teishoku was my kid’s favorite and my husband really enjoyed Miyuki teishoku(he chose beef sukiyaki, chicken teriyaki and chicken katsu).“
“Went there yesterday to celebrate birthday. We focused mainly on the Sushi rolls which was viewed on the table menu under the glass. Service was great. What I miss is some Japanese music to provide authentic atmosphere.Parking: it is a mall so you can park almost everywhere“
“Outstanding, I ordered the Classic California Rolls. Very fresh ingredients, and very nice staff! The chef who made the sushi was very nice and friendly. And the waiter was super nice. I loved the pirate theme inside the building. There are so many things to look at, The building is like a hole in the wall, and very cozy. Had soft music playing in the background, very comfy chairs as well. The service was nice, very helpful for choosing things to pick and descriptions on menu items. I would 100% come here again and dine in.“
“Best sushi in San Jose! Wish the place was a bit bigger because it’s always busy, but I get that the owner likes things just the way they are. Bigger isn’t always better. My favorite sushi place since Kubota closed in Japantown. One thing I have to say is that you call and the phone just rings and rings. It’s literally like they turn the phone off, that’s not good.“
“We arrived around 12 noon on Sunday morning and heard that there was only one server on the floor. They informed us there might be a little wait. However, after we sat down for a few minutes, our server, Yoon, greeted us quickly and took our orders right away. She even checked in on us after we received our food. The best thing was that she recommended the spicy wontons, which are made in-house now. We LOVE it!! We also ordered some other appetizers and our ramens. Yes, the reviews are right; the restaurant is a little loud if you are sitting inside, the place is definitely pricey for ramen, but you're paying to be at Santana Row. Overall, I'm very happy with their food and service.“
“I have indulged in a late lunch at Tabu Shabu twice. The staff did a great job of describing the options and preparation process, after learning it was my first visit. They checked in several times to ensure things were going well and offered advice. There are a variety of protein options and the vegetables gave "farm to table vibes." The meat was high-quality and the ponzu dipping sauce was delicious.Parking: The parking directly in front of the restaurant is small and crowded.“
“I am not a big fan of udon but don't tell me I can't appreciate a good udon for what it is!! This place has a great variety of distinctively (being the operative word) different udon. I love the tonkatsu udon but the salmon spinach and uni udon are great too if you like seafood. You may also want to try their curry udon to compare it to the curry udon served at an international chain located nearby, which I find far inferior. As for sides, It is also a good idea to add their poached egg or "seasoned boiled egg" as that can make or break a meal. They provide shichimi spice at no additional cost which also makes the udon more flavorful imo.I am taking off one star because some of the appetizers I have tried before were average, especially the onigiri and the service can be a hit or miss.“
“Quality of the food here is great and very authentic, though priced on the higher side. We enjoyed the sashimi and rolls. Atmosphere is very lively and the space seems best for smaller parties. It usually gets very busy during peak hours, so it's recommended to coming early to avoid waiting longer. Parking can be tough in the plaza lot but it's usually ok.“
“My family favorite spot for sushi. As a Brazilian we loved deep fried rolls and here you can find the best ones. The special rolls are delicious.Shut outTo garlic roll, San Jose, koya roll. The chef always make rice bowls to my daughter and she loves it“
“Sushi was very good big and fresh rolls .The quality was awesomeGood tasteAlso the udon were amazingI really like this placeMaybe they can refurbish inside and make it little bit better and newer .I suggest to go here if you are in the area .“
“The various sushi we tried was good. They either had a different spin on their spider role, or it was overcooked. They were gracious enough to take it off the bill.I will give it another try next time I go as the rest of the food was delicious.“
“WE VISIT OFTEN AND JUST LOVE THIS PLACE. Fish is always fresh and the rolls are tasty and a good size. Love their tempura. It's really worth the trip. Prices are average. Happy hr is alway a plus. This is our go to place. Usually crowded and service could be better but we think the wait is worth it. Our sashimi platter was awesome, thats why you wait. Perfection“
“I had a delicious lunch from here with my boyfriend! We enjoyed all the food we bought. Fugetsu always has fresh, flavorful Japanese food that is super portable and conveniently packaged to take to-go. I'd highly recommend getting food here for a picnic! * Tuna and Salmon Box Sushi: 5/5 Fish tasted so fresh and high quality! The rice underneath was the perfect soft, fluffy texture and nicely seasoned. This box comes with a LOT of masago, which is a plus! It added a pleasant salty, briny flavor to an otherwise very simple dish. $15 for this is a great price considering it's a generous portion of rice and fish! * Takoyaki: 5/5 One of the best I've tried outside of Japan. Soft without being mushy, and very flavorful. If I had to nitpick, I would prefer more bonito flakes on top. * Cold Mentai Pasta (mini size): 5/5 Perfectly cooked pasta with a lightly creamy flavor. Not too heavy or salty. This would be a perfect side dish for a picnic or lunch to-go! Service was quick and friendly. I'll definitely be back soon to try their many other options!“
“This place is a gem. Why? Because they offer real snow crab in their California roll. Bento box and miso soup are super flavorful. Service was efficient and professional. I have been looking for a sushi spot that offers real crab and other than Nobu in Palo Alto.“
“From observation, this restaurant is a typo Korean sushi restaurant serving the typical sashimi, nigiri and rolls. There's a hidden menu at the restaurant that is called ahead or reserved only. They bring in live yellow farmed halibut and octopus weekly for really fresh sashimi plates. These are whole fishes only so go with at least 3 ppl. They also carry good sake to go with the sushi.“
“Don't let the name fool you, Sizzling Lunch is an awesome dining option any time of day. I've been a regular here since I found out about it a few years ago and I won't be stopping any time soon. The food is delivered to the table raw and unmixed on a sizzling hot plate, allowing you to mix everything up and cook it to your desired level before chowing down. The real stars of the show in my opinion are the Garlic Shoyu and Teriyaki sauces that are available on every table. They form a delectable combination, and as soon as my meal arrives at the table I'm pouring a generous portion of each on top of my food so that the flavors can meld together as it cooks. It may be all in my head, but there is something great about digging into a dish of steaming food that was cooked just a few second ago. Forget farm-to-table, it's all about pan-to-mouth for that truly fresh experience.A final word of advice from personal experience, don't wear a white shirt! While they provide a small paper splash guard around the food, there will inevitably be some splatter that escapes the confines of the plate and winds up on everything within a one foot radius so be careful and plan ahead.“
“We love that Sushi Masa has a happy hour menu now! We’ve tried all of the rolls and our favorites are the spicy yellowtail, the double crunchy and the tempura shrimp. The spring roll and edamame are also favorites as well.Lily has been our server/bartender for several of our visits and she is the best! The restaurant has an all you can eat lunch or dinner special, but this happy hour menu provides us with just the right amount of food.“
“My family and I have just discovered this location. We have been here about five times. The sushi portions are generous and fresh. All of the rolls we have tried have been delicious. The service is always attentive if anything is needed and always really friendly.“
“Stopped by for a later lunch on our way to the Pumpkin Patch! Love that all the toppings and sides are included in the price! The fish options are all really good. Really liked the spicy versions of the fish too! They were generous with the portions! I probably could have made it a second meal! So glad we got to try it out and will be coming back again!“
“Shima Sushi has been our go-to spot for seven years, and it never fails to exceed expectations.Their "Sunrise" and "Sunset" rolls are simply the best, bursting with delicious flavors. The consistent quality, friendly service, and cozy atmosphere keep us coming back for more—this place truly feels like home!“
“A brilliant bento box, with a great selection of choices.I had the tripple bento, with teriyaki beef, chicken katsu and tuna nigiri. All were great and served quickly with a lovely miso soup that really hit the spot!Excellent value for money in this area and a great place to go.“
“Love the massive sushi rolls here. Their ratio of filling to rice is amazing. Seriously so much fish/stuffing per roll and the fish was also fresh and buttery. Reasonable prices too. The Mexican roll was $9.99, the O-philly roll was ($10.99), and the Spicy Crazy Roll was ($13.50). Miso Soup was perfect and a comforting side. Super kind service and a cozy ambiance.“
“They recently started a proper omakase counter service for $75 at the time of writing this review. Other places might offer moriawase disguised as omakase, but this is the true omakase experience. Chefs are super nice and accommodating. Their regular menu is also amazing but I wanted to highlight the omakase experience.“
“Went in for lunch around 1:30 and was glad Kaita was still open and taking guests. We were seated right away. The people who work here are so sweet and welcoming and friendly! I love that about Kaita. I usually stick tot he specials but I was in the mood for simple and basic. I got the beef teriyaki for the first time here and I was very pleasantly surprised. Cooked perfectly medium and the sauce was good texture, not too thick or thin. I thought Gombei had the best teriyaki but this visit to Kaita may have changed my mind- definitely tied at least. The salad and miso hit the spot and the service was awesome! This is true comfort food for me, with plain white rice- best lunch out, in a long time! Wife had the chicken teriyaki donburi and she enjoyed that as well. It was a very large portion and she took a lot home for later. We had one soda and loved the complimentary tea. Lunch for two was $35.71 before tip. Can't beat that price, the quality and deliciousness of the food, and the friendly and genuine sweet service made our day!“
“The greatest onigiri (Japanese rice ball) spot of all time! I tried the spicy salmon and mackerel. I prefer the mackerel, but they’re both delicious. Even if I refrigerate a rice ball for 2 days, the rice is still soft enough to eat without reheating. Amazing!“
“I have been going to this place for 20 years. The food is amazing! You will not find another place like this. The whole atmosphere here is amazing. When you walk in they are quick to greet you and are always so kind. They really know how to make you feel welcomeParking: There is a full parking lotKid-friendliness: They are super sweet to kids and there are plenty of food options for them as well other than Sushi“
“Omg I went in there yesterday and my ODD was in full effect!! I have to apologize to the young lady at the counter who had to deal with me. I was definitely confusing and confused my damn self. I came in from an online order and when I arrived I ordered 3 more bowls. I didn't know what size or flavor I wanted so that was already confusing first thing, Then the girl was going be cool and charge me a soda to pay the difference for the size and flavor changes I flew off the handles cuz for some reason that computed in my mind as free soda She saw I grabbed a soda and she proceeded to charge me for two. My maths wasn't mathing and I was convinced I was to only be charged for one I'm sorry for calling you slow girly I'm the slow one Straight special ed! Bye!“
“I stopped in for a "Philly" roll, because I wanted something quick and wasn't sure how the food would be where I was going (it turned out to be a wise choice). Fish to rice ratio is very good, I was a little worried because the fish seemed to be room temperature instead of cold, and the rice is not something you'll see in the animated series Oishimbo, but it was good, filling, and did the job and was about $10 which is good these days. I'm sure students at the nearby college appreciate this place and I'll try to eat here again when I get the chance.“
“Rice is everything and it was too dry and thick here. The fish was good but it was spoiled by the underwhelming rice. Service was awkward. Not a smile from the server until the check came and she was more robotic and obligatory than really sincere. Anyhow, I wasn't impressed especially as the poor value made this meal unworthy.“
“Some of the best hot pot I’ve had! I love the selection of vegetables and their quality was very fresh. The meat and broth were tasty. The portions were very generous too! I’ll be coming back!Vegetarian options: Lots of veggies and tofu on the menu!“
“The savory broths and solid meat cuts offer a delightful shabu shabu experience that's well worth the wait in line. All you can eat was reasonably priced for the quality, the atmosphere is simple yet inviting. Service is efficient and friendly, ensuring a satisfying dining adventure“
“My friend was hyping this place up so I decided to see if he spoke some truth to his statements. It didn't disappoint, but it didn't hit it out of the park either. Interior is very presentable. Clean and new. There are a lot of choices to pick from, but you get a limited quantity per category. You have their base, two base toppings, two scoops of protein, five toppings, two sauces (unfortunate), and then two sprinkles. The taste of the fish by itself is okay. Sauce is really good though. I was surprised at how much it was (about $3 more than what I'm used to paying) but their portions are very generous. I could not finish my bowl in one sitting when I always do. Hopefully the next time I come back, I'd find my go-to recipe!“
