It's true, Tai Pan will not be receiving any awards for service, but their food is so good! I can only speak on the vegetarian items— baked goods, noodles—they are absolutely made fresh daily. A lot of people recommend the soy bean milk, but I haven't seen it (perhaps I don't go early enough and they sell out quickly). Egg tarts are $1.90/each, or buy 5 get 1 free. I agree the service here isn't the friendliest (or that friendly at all), they don't like accepting credit cards, and the decor isn't the updated or nicest. Consider yourself warned! Know that you're coming here for the food and the value! The portions are very reasonably sized for the price, and the taste and quality are fantastic. 0ne of my go-to places for take out dim sum in the South Bay. Good Soy Sauce Chow Mein, Shrimp Dumplings, Pork Dumplings, Sticky Rice, Black Bean Spare Ribs, Taro Balls, Turnip Cake, Baked Pork Buns, Big Chicken Buns, and the lunch specials are a deal.
