“I was looking for mini cupcakes for my daughter's birthday and found Lil Bites Bakery. Lindley was very helpful and thorough with all my questions. His responses to my email did not go through to my email initially, but he made sure that I received the answers, so he emailed me from his personal email, which is customer service right there. The day of delivery (during a storm), he came early just to make sure we would get them on time. The mini cupcakes and fruit tarts were so cute and delicious! I appreciated the little details as well, such as a birthday card for my daughter. Highly recommend!“
“So glad I got to stop by with my parents today. My mom loves to eat red bean mochi/ manju ever since I was a kid. She was excited to get them. They were very fresh, not too sweet, the mochi was nice and chewy. They are close Monday through Wednesday. Will definitely be going back!“
“This is a small bakery, privately owned and small business. Has been here for ever. Their fresh baked goods are beyond compare. Not just in taste, but also variety. The milk buns are almost part of my staple diet! Coffee is also excellent. Normally it is quite crowded and line is long. Takes longer to check out, but worth the wait.Vegetarian options: Everything is labeled making it easy to pick out vegetarian optionsParking: Parking gets pretty full between 9am and 6pm“
“Came here for a small dessert bite. Their almond croissant was amazing! They also have complimentary homemade warm apple cider when we went and it was great. Probably just a special item for October.I just wish their seating is a bit nicer. I would've come here every weekend, get some nice pastries and drinks, and read a book. ?“
“I heard from a buddy it was the best doughnut shop in the area (he's a bit of a connoisseur) and I totally agree. It's our go-to now when we want doughnuts.Parking: 10ish spots. It's popular and some cars were double parked. I don't know if you can park at nearby locations. I said difficult, but it hasn't been too hard if you time it right.“
“My favorite empanadas! I normally get the chicken empanadas with the green aji sauce. I have been coming here for almost a decade and I still love this place. The green aji sauce is very fresh and flavorful. The empanada crust is buttery and flaky while the meat filling is seasoned well. Pricing is great for a locally owned business.“
“You can not go wrong with this bakery. Everything available in the store is delicious and there is something for everyone!! I favorite s for different reasons but the one I love since childhood hood are their danishes with raisins and nuts. No one ever makes them like Prters Bakery. Go get you pastries & Enjoy!!“
“Honestly, there’s many places in San Jose you can get great coffee, but here’s why I always come to the San Pedro Voyager1) the customer service. I actually got caught off guard when the barista asked how my day was going because I’m so accustomed to the robotic baristas at Philz that just at scowl at you when you come up to the register. It really feels like the baristas here genuinely want to make you feel at home.2) Lots of seating which is usually rare at popular coffee shops. Being in SP Square means you can easily grab some good food if you need a lunch break and don’t want to move your car.3) Free cup of coffee with unlimited refills if you buy a bag of whole beans.4) Free 90 minutes of parking without the need of validation.Only downside of this place is that it can sometimes feel like a McDonald’s play land with how many parents let their kids run around screaming. And on weekdays, lot of people taking zoom calls and having meetings, so I’d recommend a good pair of noise cancelling headphones“
“Not a lot of seating but it’s a cute little corner shop that it’s nice to visit! Grabbed their mango matcha latte and it was spot on. Very fruity and flavorful and refreshing like a helpful worker mentioned. They also offer pastries and croissants of different flavors like pistachio, ham & cheese, butter, chocolate. Would need to come back to try one.Parking is street parking or garage parking two blocks down from the shop.“
“I have been fortunate to have this delectable cookie Crumbl store right across the street from me. I can even smell the cookies being baked!! I continue to enjoy the yummy cookies, great service and the best atmosphere.A very happy customer“
“I have been following Natasha on Instagram for a while and recently had the chance to order a cake and cakesicles for our son's first birthday party. Communication with Natasha was a breeze. She made a beautiful Winter Wonderland-themed cake and included a battery-operated igloo, which we kept as a keepsake. We ordered triple berry flavor for the cake and red velvet for the cakesicles, and both flavors were a hit with our guests. Her cakes are delicious and addicting, not overly sweet, which was our main concern while ordering cake. She helped us securely put the cake in the car, and it reached safely to the party venue. I highly recommend her if you are looking for pretty and delicious cakes to make your event memorable.“
“This is the best panaderia is San Jose hands down. The service and staff here are amazing! The owner is the sweetest person ever and has been in the food business for decades. The bread and breakfast burritos are great! If you’re in the area, give this place a try!“
“This shop is so cute. All the items for sale are made by the sweet couple that own the shop. I tried two teas both were very nice. The sweet soda bread was awesome. And the whiskey bread is a must try if you like whiskey. Will be going back to try more.“
“I stumbled upon Butter Cheeni on instagram and was very intrigued with the various cake flavors Avani had. I have a very pick baby who loves mango so we decided to get a mango rasmalai cake for her. The cake was DELICIOUS to say the least!!! My daughter does not have a sweet tooth but she loved this cake and kept asking for more. It was the perfect amount of sweetness that everyone enjoyed. The best rasmalai I’ve had and all our guests loved it and went for seconds. A couple of guests raved it was the best cake they’ve had!!!From the very first interaction with Avani she’s been amazing. Very responsive, professional and friendly. Thank you so much Avani ☺️“
“Carol treated us very kindly. Order cold pot coffee and a duvalín latte. A little disappointed because the duvalin drink doesn't taste like duvalin, I think it's nesquik. However, the coffee was delicious and the bread was delicious!“
“Very beautiful welcoming place, very clean, very peaceful inside. Makes you feel good to be in San Jose with such special places like this. Very nice people. Delicious brownies, Matcha latte and Mango Cake ! Fantastic spot, probably my new favorite treat spot. Definitely high on my list of perfectly balanced treats to satisfy your sweet tooth and not feel sick afterwords. I’ve been so excited to try this place and they did their thing! You should go here and show some support!“
“Crumbl is all the hype. The iconic pink boxes filled with cookies about the size of your face and weighs a pound. I will give it to the marketing and advertisement aspect. They are always on top of the new flavors every week and customizing it to the unthinkable. Cookies are always tasty and flavorful it could be at times be on the sweeter side, so you can definitely split this up into acouple of meals. I prefer the chilled versions and I've never found any to be dried out. I recommend signing up for their rewards program/app to get up to date on the new flavors. Prices are on the higher side but you at paying for the quality and the specialty item. Wish they offered more promotions or deals. And also wishes they brought back in rotation flavors that are super popular and fan favorites.“
“Kind and authentic cafe. Ambiance was super cute. It's lovely to sit outside on a nice day and enjoy a delicious, well made latte--which they served to me when I already sat myself; a really sweet gesture. Workers seem to enjoy themselves too. I have yet to try the food but it looks good!“
“Wide selection of desserts. Cakes are not too sweet, and they have options for those with special diet preferences like keto and vegan. If they get too busy, have a little patience to wait til you get served, but staff are nice and trying to accommodate everyone. If you are a self entitled customer, maybe not the right place for you. First come, first serve...of course.Dietary restrictions: For keto diet, they have sugar free pistachio mousse“
“I ordered a sugar free Vanilla cake for my husband's birthday. They take phone orders so its super easy to order and then pay the invoice sent through email. Went in store to pick up the cake and the smell inside was warm, comforting and inviting. From this I knew the cake was going to be good. She delivered just exactly what i ordered. The cake was divine, so soft, perfect amount of sweetness. I would rate them 10/10. One of the best cakes I have had. Absolutely no aftertaste due to it being sugarfree. Definitely looking forward to ordering more from them. Give them a try and you ll be very happy that you did!“
“We find the best flavor of Mexico in this bakery!!!We ordered a king's cake and it was delicious!Parking: Parking is a little difficult to find if you want it close, but if you can walk 3 to 5 minutes. The space is quite large and you can find other places to leave your car not so far away.Kid-friendliness: The taste of the bread is incredible, the little ones in the house are always happy to try the flavors they were used to at home!“
“Literally my favorite breakfast spot ever! I am a regular costumer here and I go here almost 2 times a week. The bagels you can tell are freshly baked and made with love. The ingredients they use are top notch, they bring such a fantastic flavor to such simple menu items. My personal favorites are the Vietnamese Coffee, Cinnamon Raison Bagel, and Bacon Egg & Cheese bagel. The service is also very friendly and I believe it is family owned which is always a green flag.“
“If you want really flavorful and savory Viet baked goods, you NEED to visit CD Bakery & Deli.FIRST: THE BANH MI. I live in the 626 (SGV in LA) so when I went up to visit family up in San Jose, you know I'm gonna search for the best banh mi. Let me tell you: their banh mi dac biet--which is my go to for fair comparisons--was *chef's kiss*!! & I went to 3 other places during that trip up including Duc Houng and Dakao Sandwiches. No offense to those places cause they were already REALLY good, but then I tried CD Bakery's banh mi and the bread was A+ (light and crisp on the outside but not too much where it'll cut your mouth and soft on the inside but keeps the filling all together) and the meat inside was flavorful, but not too salty. They also loaded on the mayo and the liver pate, which I look for in my quest for the perfect banh mi. They also have the perfect amount of pickled veggies and cilantro to balance the savoriness.I also tried their pate so (Vietnamese puff pastry meat pie), which was one of the best that I've had. They're nice and flaky with a perfect meat:bread ratio. Other bakeries have too little meat or their meat is overly salty.Besides the banh mi, another "Must Have" are their sesame balls. They have 3 different flavors: yellow/mung bean, taro, or red bean. My wife LOVES the red bean and yellow bean so we got 10 of each before heading back to LA haha.We also got a gallon of their freshly squeezed sugar cane juice. Make sure to get some calamansi squeezed on top! Adds a bit of tartness and balance to the sweetness. Perfect drink for a hot day (or any day for that matter)!Best of all was the service. The owners (husband and wife) treat everyone like family as they are a family business. I'm pretty sure their kids work there too. So support this mom & pop!One thing I do regret is not getting their cafe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee), as I saw multiple people after me order and receive their drinks. Next time!Good to know: Accepts cards. Plenty of free parking. Tremendous value for money.“
“Very consistent. Always the best service and really good food. Comfort & hardy food with delicious breakfast options. Love the Swedish pancakes with the special butter and really enjoy all the sandwich options as well as salad options. My son loves the breakfast tacos or chorizo special scramble.“
“The cake and service are excellent here! Everyone was very pleasant! The owner is also very sweet and is a great community supporter! My order was ready and bagged for pick up, and it was a quick and easy process. I plan to come again and have told everyone I know. The bundlets went fast and everyone was excited for them! They're always a hit! It is located near the exit/entrance of the plaza across from a liquor store, I think. There's plenty of parking and I saw a sign for curbside.“
“This place is fantastic, I've never had a less than excellent experience with their food, drinks and pan dolce. They put a lot of effort into the quality of their food, and it shows. I recommend this place to anyone who hasn't tried it yet, because you will not be disappointed“
“O guau Panaderia La Estrella es un buen lugar el pan muy riquísimo todos los días voy a ese lugar a comprarme mi café y mis conchitas claro lo único poquito malo del lugar es el parqueadero del parqueadero es muy pequeño y hay que tener pelear un poquito con esperar turno paga para poderse parquear pero el el pan riquísimo lo recomiendo“
“We went all out and ordered a donut-themed, 3-tiered, birthday cake for our daughter's 1st birthday and it was beautiful! We also received lots of compliments from guests that the cake was moist and delicious. The bakery is responsive and very easy to work with. If you're looking for quality taste and cake decorations, I would highly recommend them!“
“LOVE Dolce Sicilia! Over the years, I've had their cookies, gelatos, and espressos from here... It's always fantastic. I love to share assorted cookies with family and friends and their gelato is hand made fresh in the shop. But what compelled me to write a review is their limoncello cake. It is so light yet decadent and not overly sweet. We enjoyed this on Mother's Day and it will now be a go-to cake for celebrations. Looking forward to trying their pastas!“
“I got these via DoorDash! It seems like it's also possible to order through their own website. Everything is good! I love their interesting sourdoughs. Of course they taste like sourdough, but they look pretty and I felt that the ube sourdough had a sweet scent when I toasted a slice at home. Their breakfast toast is a pile of HEAVEN!! A little spicy and lemony, with a nice thick slice of bread. I got it with the sesame sourdough, I loved the seeds with that one. Very shareable portion. The potato tostones are shareable by 2-3 people too. They have a bit of a kick but they're absolutely delicious, smashed potatoes with the soft inners and crisped edges. The crab sandwich was amazing especially with the lemon squeezed on. I had my doubts about American cheese paired with crab, but honestly that really pulled it together with its salty smooth creaminess. And don't be fooled by the photo thinking it's some kinda wonderbread sized sandwich... Nah, it's a BIG sandwich! Their bread is lovely and soft. As for the chocolate strawberry toast, I think that's something you could make at home so I'd recommend just buying a loaf of the bread, which I also did! That said, it was tasty and the sweetness plus sourdough was surprisingly good. It was a thick slice of toast so, again, could be shared. The ube scone was nice and not too sweet, not a strong ube flavor but it was tasty! Overall everything I've tried so far has been good, I'm definitely going to explore the menu a little more.Vegetarian options: There are definitely a couple of vegetarian toasts/sandwiches and they look good! I wouldn't recommend for vegans though.“
“This store is Old School and delightfully stocked with cake decorating supplies that will have nearly everything your looking for, from fillings to many boxes for your baked delectables; including sprinkles, rental plans and maybe a learning class or two. Enjoy!“
“After a delicious lunch we decided to go here for coffee. Cocola Bakery is a charming French bakery and café serving French breads and pastries that are all baked daily on location. This indoor/outdoor café also serves gourmet sandwiches on fresh baguettes, with salads and homemade soups. We decided to have Mocha Bianca and believe me it's very tasty and creamy coffee. We also got dessert - pineapple twist, pineapple custard filling and cheese danish. If you haven't tried this place, I will highly recommend it and do try the pineapple custard filling dessert and the mocha bianca, I promise you will not regret it. I loved it and the service is great, the inside sitting can get crowded but they do have outside seating as well. As I write this review, I am craving that coffee for sure. I highly recommend this place.“
“I went in today to pick up dinner rolls and desserts for an early Thanksgiving with my family. Parking is awkward in their lot so people tend to park at the Beauty Supply which threatens to tow you and charges for parking. CASH ONLY and NO ATM so with $13, I was only able to buy the dinner rolls. Most of my family liked them but some felt they were not soft enough. I thought they were soft but hardy enough to withstand food like bbq and gravy. They definitely smelled fresh and at $4.25 per dozen, you can't beat that for fresh bread. I know it is easier to handle cash only for a mom n pop, but it definitely isn't millennial friendly because we don't carry cash. Nonetheless, I plan to go back and try the pastries!“
“Angelicakes makes the BEST Cakes/ Cupcakes ever (I have not tried other menu items. My personal favorites are Tuxedo, Tiramisu, and Carmel by the Sea- Vanilla. Angelicakes is amazing at balancing flavors. They're never over sweet or over rich. They're perfect! 100/10 recommend! We even booked them for our wedding cake. Not only will you get to enjoy amazing delicious cakes, but also amazing customer service.“
“Such a cute small place. It is a hole in the wall but I was craving tamales and concha's and stumbled across this place on my way to work. Tons of yummy items in the display!!! You can tell it's a good place when all contractors roll up here around 7:30 am lol Tamales run for 3.50 Conchas are $1.00 or 1.10. Great customer service, they packed up all the sauces and cheeses on the side for me. So considerate! I was shocked since I felt a little fish out of water when I walked in but they treated me the same way as they would with any one. Highly recommend you guys give this place a shot!“
“An outstanding bakery. Lots of selection of pan dulce at very good prices. The quality of the pan is excellent and i highly recommend it. The Pink Elephant has been around for years but they have maintained their reputation for quality pan throughout the years.“
“I've tried their ube croissant and plenty of their custards but the only thing I really like is their kaya croissant. It's pandan flavor and not too sweet. I recommend ordering for pick up because there's usually a line outside. There are no dine in options.“
“Picked up some pastries yesterday and they were delicious! Tried Lemon, Vanilla and plain one along with the Strawberry. The location is not ideal because there is no parking in front of the store. But luckily they offer DoorDash. One challenge I noticed is that the shot opens at 9:30 which is a bit late for a bakery. Eliminates my change to have the pasteries delivered for a meeting that starts at 9 am!Parking: There is a bus stop in front of the shop and the best option for parking is to drive to 4th street and use the 5 story parking space there! But it’s a brisk 5 block away from the shop!“
“Everyone there is so friendly and BILINGUAL. The bakery is clean, well lit and has plenty of parking. The bread is the perfect balance of sweetness for me and they have a great selection of items. I'm thankful that they are doing great business on this side of town and look forward to supporting this small business“
“I recently went to a wedding where we had the most delicious cake ever!!!! After asking, the bride gave me Nubia's Pasteleria's contact. I'm going to order a cake "just because" since I'm not going to wait for a special occasion to have this cake again“
“I've been coming here for years for the delicious cinnamon bread..Recently I've been placing breakfast burrito and large cinnamon bread orders with Sergio. He provides exceptional customer service, super friendly and has a positive attitude!!!“
“The owner is communicative and very nice! She made the prettiest mothers day cupcake bouquet I’ve ever seen! I know my mom is going to LOVE them. I definitely recommend ordering your baked goods here and can’t wait to order again soon :)“
“Lots of pastries there, and they have drinks to go along with your sweets. The place is small, but it’s definitely worth a visit. I went there for the spiral croissants and it had the creamy taste you would expect from these kind of pastries.“
“New panderia alert! The owner has trained and made pan with other great bakers throughout the area. This place is delicious and a great addition to the neighborhood. Their tres leches cake is soft and moist, not overly wet. Always fresh bread available!“
“Newly remodel after 30+ years. Came in and I didn’t even recognized this place. They got a new outer shell but they’re still producing the same quality baked goods and sandwiches. My favorite treat is the mini pizzas and the stuff pork floss bread. The prices haven’t changed after the remodel, the service is still good and fast now with Apple Pay. I will always give this place 5 stars as I’ve been going here since I was 9.“
“Five stars because this place is both good and cheap, which is rare today. Simple, straightforward menu with 11 different banh mi options. All $7.50, cash only. I got the #3 combination banh mi which came with pork, pate, and another meat that I honestly don't remember (but it was good). The sandwich is pretty huge, I got full off of half and saved the rest. Two meals for $7.50, can't beat it. The service was really fast and my sandwich was out within 5 minutes. The bread was fresh and so were all of the ingredients inside. The portion for everything is really generous. Definitely a solid top 3 banh mi spot for me.“
“I went in for a couple of pastries and the owner, a kind man, when he heard I was a tourist from Italy he offered me to try a couple of typical Mexican delicacies. That day he really made my day, I loved the bread and the welcoming environment. Although I am in Europe now, I still cannot forget how amazing, caring and high quality the pastries were. I can't wait to be back.“
“Been coming to this bakery for years and they never disappoint. The bolillos is a must and Tortas are fire . The ppl commenting about price are idiots ,if everything went up in price because of inflation what makes you think there not going to raise there prices “
“Genuine taste of Mexico without the fuss of trendy decor, Mexico Bakery is your spot. The simplicity of its ambiance might not scream Instagram-worthy, but let me tell you, the food and customer service speaks volumes at this hole in the wall. If you come early enough the aroma of freshly baked goods will smack you in the face. Not sure if the do their baking in house hear but it always smells heavenly. The flavor profile in each torta is undeniable; it's what they're known for, after all. I won't ever order anything other than my carne asada one. Never say never though lol This location is in downtown with metered parking that is surprisingly manageable. The staff is so sweet here and they always hook it up with the salsa! If you're craving authentic Mexican flavors served with a side of genuine warmth, Mexico Bakery is your destination.“
“This is a review of my first (but not last!) visit out to Charlie's. After seeing the great reviews on Yelp, we decided to take a trip out to visit. Immediately we were greeted warmly by Charlie who asked if we'd visited before and that we hadn't, how we found him. He then mentioned his belief that you can't buy something without trying it first and let us each try one each! We ended up buying a 12 pack of the minis and asked if it was possible to swap out one of the flavors for another. Charlie didn't hesitate and simply added one of the ones we wanted to swap in! Before we left, Charlie kindly told us how to best store and serve them. As we left, we both agreed that we'd be back for both the tasty cheesecake bites as well as to se Charlie again!“
