“Sony and Tai are the best. Best meal I had all year and I'm a great cook and I make fresh sushi at home. there is no sushi anywhere better. Presentation, taste, enjoyment. I would eat there every night if I could. The price is fair. So any negative reviews go eat your gas station sushi and stay home.“
“Have driven by here too many times to count as we usually eat at the Himalayan restaurant nearby. Today the other restaurant was closed so finally we were able to try this place and WOW were we impressed!I had the Miso Ramen and my husband had the Super Philadelphia Roll - both were superb! The Ramen soup was very authentic, one of the best I have had and the Roll was made to perfection and tasted very fresh. The service was very friendly and quick. We will definitely be back“
“This is an authentic sushi restaurant. We have only eaten here for lunch and it is so good. Fresh fish, perfectly prepared with unique ingredients and offerings on the menu. They have sushi rolls, salads, main fish entrees, sushi bowls, etc. the crispy tuna rice is one of the best appetizers, comes with 3 but we order an add on so we can each have two. It comes with fried garlic slice on top of the spicy tuna. We start with miso soup and get the green iced tea, it’s so refreshing and they will give free refills.“
“This is by far one of the best experiences. My husband and I travel all over the world . My daughter is now attending college in Laguna. We now can say this is one of our favorite spot to eat in the world. The chef prepares everything with precision. The staff is kind . You MUST try Rebel for lunch or dinner !!“
“The food is quite good and seems really fresh. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The only problem we encountered was getting our mixed vegetables way before our entrees arrived. They would have been much warmer arriving with the main meal. Otherwise, all was good.“
“I have been to my fair share of Ramen restaurants, and I must say this one takes the cake for being the most aesthetically pleasing. It gives a vibe to the decor, from the bowls to the vase water, and even the chopsticks are mood.As for the food, I ordered a classic California sushi roll, which was excellent, along with their House Ramen bowl, which was fantastic. It had bok choy, egg, and pork. The pork was all tender and just delicious. Sometimes, when you go to restaurants for Ramen noodles, you’ll get a hit or miss, but I will say for this restaurant, there was no hit or miss; the Ramen noodle was just perfection. As for the drink, I ordered the Galaxy, which is butterfly peas, strawberry, lemonade, and mango jelly, and I think something else, but I cannot remember it was great. It was excellent. The service was good.I would say spending a moderate amount of money here for this restaurant, especially given the area it's in.Overall, 10 out of 10.“
“Top notch Sushi! I've been coming here since they opened and I'm in love with this place. First, Chef Masa is the nicest most friendly Chef there is, and all his staff are friendly and spot on with water refills and quick service. The fish he gets is some of the freshest and best quality out there. For cooked food Try the salmon collar. It's the melt in your mouth part of the salmons neck and cheek, and prepared expertly! Everything I've had, from the fresh oysters, the halibut carpaccio, the Takowasa, and Takoyaki, they spicy yellow tail lover roll and al the sashimi- has been perfect. Can't recommend enough !“
“Yoshi was our server, and she was extremely nice to our large party that consisted of a bunch of wild kids. This past Friday night. The food was excellent. Enjoyed the sunset. Next time, Yoshi needs to have some saki with us. We'll be back!“
“This is our family's weeknight sushi place. We bring the kids who absolutely demolish the crunchy rolls. My favorite is the yellow tail buffalo roll. The fish is always delicious and the service is always great. They take extra care of our kiddos. The Yoshi rolls are a personal favorite too. The price is fair too!“
“I went there the other day for the first time and had some sushi. It was probably one of the best sushi places in Laguna Niguel. It was very delicious. I ordered the dragon sushi, baked scallop and baked salmon. The service was fast. I highly recommend this location. I will definitely go back.“
“This place is really really good. A hidden gem. The yellowtail carpaccio is YUM! So many delicious rolls and unique additions. Cucumber/seaweed salad=love. The freshness is soso good. The service is spot on. If you are not there before 5 be prepared to wait.“
“With its mouth-watering dishes, Koya is a must-visit for any foodie. The restaurant's inviting atmosphere and top-notch customer service improved our delightful experience. Don't miss out on the chance to indulge in their delectable cuisine!“
“Went for a lunch date with my son. It's a small place and the sushi is amazing. It's was so good. The specialty rolls are amazing. My son has an allergy to shrimp and they overheard us and offerd to make the roll we were looking at with no shrimp. We will definitely be back.“
“My husband and I stumbled upon this place today by accident, and I think it's my new fave Thai restaurant! It's located in a little corner next to Patsy's so it's easy to miss, but when you walk in it's quite spacious, with booth and table seating as well as a sushi bar. We ordered Thai food from the lunch menu. I had the Panang Curry and my husband had a spicy noodle dish with beef (similar to Pad See Ew) but forget the name of it. We both enjoyed our meals and a free Thai iced tea to go! Service was fast and friendly. Give this place a try!“
“We Love this Place! We were introduced to it by some good friends a few years ago it’s been our go to ever since. We eat sushi about once a week For about the last two decades. They offer a great variety of fresh fish, and the service is always on point.“
“Quaint & Authentic Japanese restaurant. Try to sit at the bar for the best experience. I highly suggest the Sweet Shrimp (amiebi) with no wasabi. You want to experience the full taste of fresh shrimp.Parking: Parking is a bit tough sometimes due to so many businesses crammed into one location. Worst case you have to park at IHOP and walk“
“Sushi Yaki has been my go-to spot for a quick dinner after long, difficult work days. I work nearby and I'm so grateful I can simply walk over. There's nothing more comforting than having a nice meal in a humble, dependable shop like this.Props to the older couple running the place because I've never had a negative experience. The food is consistently good and the service is reliable.“
“Very quaint place, delicious food. I had their signature roll, it was very different, I enjoyed it. My husband and son got the udon noodles, and my daughter a chicken bowl. We also ordered stem dumplings, amazing! ? I think we just found our sushi “
“Tasty food! Great portions and stellar service. My new sushi and ramen spot!!! I highly recommend! Their combo ramen and roll combos keeps interesting foods coming to you bit by bit. First, a nice sized side salad, then pan fried gyoza, then the delicious miso ramen... mmm...“
“Excellent fish! If looking for crazy rolls with lots of sauces this is not your place. If you just want excellent fish you're in the right place. Only a handful of tables and seats at the sushi bar so reservations are suggested.Parking: Tons of parking.“
“First time here. I had the chicken curry, it was very good.Note to the owner. You should consider changing the name. I have driven by many times, but I always thought it was a nail salon spa type of place. My wife actually figured out it is a sushi place.“
“Kind of a hole in the wall spot that is in undercover gem. The sushi is wide-ranging and excellent… from all the rolls that you would expect to some high-end, interesting additions, like grilled salmon/yellow tail cheek. All of the rolls are thoughtfully put together and you can’t go wrong with any of them. The vibe is super cool…it’s another great sushi option in San Clemente. They do have a wacky limited hours situation where you could get there too late and not have a shot at eating, so my advice is to go earlier than you think you should to ensure you can get in and then it’s a great experience.“
“Zen Sushi is a go to for large specialty rolls! They are generous in all accounts. The sashimi and sushi rice are high quality. Great color in every fish. One thing that I can appreciate a lot is they do not load their rolls with rice. A lot of restaurants in the area will add extra rice to make the rolls seem big instead of actually offering a good amount of fish. My favorite: Kiss of an Angel roll, Sashimi Roll, Eri roll.Service and the chefs are fantastic. Friendly, quick, and they are good with large groups as well.Atmosphere is as nice or as casual as you want it to be. I’ve gone here with my wife on dates many times, dressed up and super casual. It’s a mix between everyone. So if you’re looking for a “nice casual” date then this is the perfect spot.“
“I came in for lunch the other day with my extended family! We had a huge party and I was worried that we would be a burden to the employees, but one employee in specific was this lovely lady named Sophia! She was very patient with my little cousins and was super friendly! All the employees here are super respectful and their number #1 priority is great customer service! I'll be coming here a lot now!“
“I live very close to this restaurant and occasionally I get a hankering for some good sushi. I do like how fresh their sushi is and it tastes pretty clean to me. I usually do takeout and it's ready in 10 or 15 minutes. I think this restaurant does a good business, especially on the takeout and while the Atmosphere is a little cold, I've even eaten here before but it is small. They do, however, have s sushi bar.“
“Sushi over the years has changed. It used to be about Japanese people running the place, now its about the right person for the job. I had a lot of problems here, in which Don and Hiro addressed. Alberto the chef is really good at what he does he is also very kind. I had my sushi tasted a bit fishy this time around, and there was, "other,'' problems but a great place is not about having great food all the time, but the service. They really take the time to change and adapt. This is one of the best features about this place. I really think anyone coming to Yama should be honest because they do accommodate. Their customer service is very good in terms of compliance, Lee is a great waitress and because of her I can come back here. Their water levels of chlorine was high but Don said it was the Macha product. When I asked for hot water, with more investigating it was actually the water source. However they promptly fixed the issue and when I came back around. It was great. Green Tea was very good. They really took efforts to address the problems that I was having. Not to mention, Kenny the son whom has great interpersonal skills help mediate any situations although he studies all day and night working part time to help his father Don run the restaurant. This is a gem of a place and deserves more recognition. Good family owned business and its right next to the lake, can't compare to the local sushi places, this place is the most consistent. Chefs treat this job as life or death! They're all sweet men!Dietary restrictions: Poke bowl, Henry made it dangerously salty. Came back and wanted to get it from Hiro because that was what the waitress recommended, but seemed to busy. However I got the Poke bowl again and it came out little fishy this time and couldn't finish it. The Toro handroll was also on the fishy side. But still good, didn't get sick.“
“Great view and okay selection of small plates. We went here on a weekday afternoon. Seating at Restaurant Raya was 39 minutes wait hence we decided to have a drink and small plate at 180Blu. There were not many people but still service was very slow. We ordered fries, taco and oysters.Oysters were fresh and good. The view is fantastic. Order s glass of wine or champagne and enjoy the view.Parking: Parking is valet and it is $30 for day time valet.“
“Really cute place, very cozy but not cramped. The server was new but very kind and asked their manager when they didn’t know the answer to something, which is always good. My dad and I got vegan ramens and they were delicious but I wish there was a spicy vegan ramen, too. Brother got the Miso ramen and enjoyed it. The vegan sushis (vegetable tempura and vegetable rolls) were pretty good. I have high standards for vegan sushi thanks to vegan sushi restaurants in the Bay area but for Orange County this is a sushi and ramen place with great vegan options.Vegetarian options: Vegan options (Vegan Ramen, Miso Soup, Fried Tofu, Edamame, Vegetable Tempura Roll, Vegetable Roll).Dietary restrictions: Vegan options (Vegan Ramen, Miso Soup, Fried Tofu, Edamame, Vegetable Tempura Roll, Vegetable Roll).“
“Very friendly owner and staff, their costumer service is very good! The food is fresh and amazing, these new owners made the best changes and the food is unbelievable! I highly recommend this restaurant and make sure to try the popcorn roll!!! ?Parking: It’s free and easyKid-friendliness: It’s a very kid and family friendly restaurant.Wheelchair accessibility: It’s wheelchair friendly.“
“This is a good neighborhood joint. It's not fancy, but the food is solid and the staff is attentive and friendly. If you go regularly, they'll remember your name. The have indoor seating (sushi bar and tables) and a small covered patio. They have fun hand-lettered signs with specials. Halibut carpaccio was one the specials tonight. If you go for lunch, they've got bento box specials that are tasty too.RECOMMENDParking: This is in in a large shopping plaza with a big parking lot. Parking is never a problem.Kid-friendliness: They don't have a kids menu or specific option for kids. If your kid likes sushi or teriyaki or tempura, then your kid would do okay here.“
“Lovely place. You can tell a lot of locals come for a good reason. The sushi is a very good quality, fresh. The Miso Soup is the best I've had in my life. The service was perfect. The ambience is fine it needs some upgrades but I'm fine with it. Good prices. All in all a good recommend.“
“Nice little speakeasy. The entrance is unique and we loved the decor and vibe. The service was standard and the drinks & sushi were good but nothing to blow you away. Recommend they change to paper menus! The phone menu was hard to read and it took away from the ambiance they're trying to create.“
“First time trying this sushi place and let me tell you...... if you haven't been, you're losing out. From the Japanese greeting to the cozy atmosphere and most importantly the sushi. The delicious fresh sushi was beautifully presented with attention to detail. The service was attentive and with a smile. What a treat! We will be back.“
“Went with the whole family. Two of us had poke with Salmon: one with rice, the other with lettuce. Odd that all toppings were extra $$, $.50 for cucumbers, $1.00 for pineapple, etc. Fish was good but a bit warm, poke fish needs a bit more refrigeration. Others in the group had really good ramen or chicken teriyaki. Nice space, with seating in a covered alleyway that leads to other shops“
“By far the best sushi in OC if not all of SoCal. You can spend alot more going to other "high end" sushi spots. The quality of fish at Jizake is on par with the best of the best - same goes for the skill of chefs they are on par with the best of the best.BTW in the pic we loaded the blue fin up with Kizami, chef didnt serve it like that (for all concerned sushi aficionados).Only recommendation to Jizake is please bring back Karatamba!“
“Though I am plant-forward, there are few things here that I can order such as the salad, edamame and the bento box (though I ended ip giving the shrimp tempura to a friend that I did linch with). Service is very good. Love how they keep the bathroom clean and love the orchid touch in the wash basin!“
“Samurai sushi is a gem of a restaurant in South OC! The owner Gina is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. So accommodating! The food is fantastic, and they have had the same chefs for years, so very consistent as well. Great selection, good prices. Buy one get one half off M-Th is such a deal. See you again soon my favorite sushi joint!!“
“Some of the best sushi that we've ever had. From start to finish with the appetizers (charred edamame and yellowtail jalapeno), to the rolls (poke and wave runner). The atmosphere, service, and views were great as well. 10/10, would definitely go back.“
“This is one of the Best restaurants in San Clemente. They have a great menu that has something for everyone. Great atmosphere and attentive staff. If you want a nice romantic dinner this is the place. You really don't want to pass this restaurant up.“
“I've been to a lot of Japanese restaurants during my time as a medical student, and this restaurant is simply the best. The price for the portion is unbeatable, and the staff is super kind. Definitely making this spot a regular stop for me.“
“We've been eating at Hapi Sushi for 20 years and recently returned for a visit. We ate there twice over a long weekend and both times it was delicious. Everyone working there was friendly and the service was excellent. A definite little gem in Laguna Beach.“
“Pros:* Delicious Food; The sushi rolls were pretty stunning. I recommend the Bento Box.* Clean inside, relax vibe* Quick serviceCons:* N/AExtra:* Plenty of Parking* The service was questionable at first, but they were quick to help us when we motioned to them. They don't dote on you and are quick to help.“
“We showed up at 5 on a Monday night. Incredible staff, fresh fish, great service, attentive thoughtful sushi chef, generous cuts of fish. Great - off the menu specials. Aesthetically beautiful lighting, date night ambiance. Best sushi, warm romantic vibe. A 10+++ Bring all of your friends & family. They will LOVE it!“
“I came here to take myself out for a little treat and I throughly enjoyed it here! Michael and Christina (I hope Thats how I spell their names!) were so kind and helpful while I was dining here. I highly recommend the beef udon and the sashimi salad ? Cheers!“
“Hands down the best sushi in town. We took our kids sat at the bar and had an amazing experience. The sushi chef is very knowledgeable and the service and quality is top notch. I would give them a 10 stars if I could. Dont go anywhere else. We will be back!“
“This is a small sushi restaurant we almost passed up looking for a bigger venue. We are glad we stopped in. The food was delicious (we loved the house salad, even my kids that don't veggies). The place is run by a husband and wife team so be patient with them, the service is personable but a tad slow. They were really nice and I could tell they had regulars. The sushi was fresh and very affordable. My family of four ate and the entire bill including the tip was less than $95. Usually, it will cost us more than $125 per meal at most sushi places for my family. Highly recommended.“
“I went there for the first time with my wife, it was very delicious. They have a deal, buy two sushi roll and get the third roll free. We ordered Eel special roll, spider roll and baked salmon roll. They provide generous amount of ginger and the rolls are not loaded with mayo like most sushi places. They are light, you do not feel heavy afterward. I highly recommend Minato Sushi.“
“A very good local Sushi restaurant with very reasonable prices. We went for lunch with another couple. Everyone considered the food to be excellent and enjoyably served. Only slight problem is the restaurant closes between lunch and dinner service and since we came for a later lunch we felt a little rushed in ordering so as to get our food. Our fault not theirs since the hours are well posted. We will be returning.“
“I always order for pick up here. If you sit you're set. If you order pick up they charge every single thing including the siracha or side of eel sauce you would assume should come included with your meal.. that's the only reason I'm giving this place a 4Foods a 5It's always busy which is a great sign. But yea it's not a lot obviously what you're spending on the sauces but still, they should be provided and any more after that should be charged.“
“Fabulous! This place is the best in Orange County. We have eaten at number of sushi restaurants and this one exceeded our expectations. We came in at 3pm on a weekend and the service was so quick. The server recommended the oh my garlic roll and it was great (if you like garlic). The crispy rice was fantastic and the large salad was phenomenal. I absolutely loved the dressing and avocado. Since taking over this location, they have renovated the inside of the restaurant, making it look much newer and enlightening the menu. They are closed on Mondays! I want to come here to try the lunch special next because the lunch specials on the menu look fantastic for a decent price. I look forward to coming back here soon!“
