Churros

“Big craving for Churros especially after watching "The Brother's Sun"Best churros in the Bay area and I've ever tasted is in Hayward! It was a street vendor and his Google/Yelp hours are off since someone was controlling them. He is a very nice and sweet man! He is usually there by the Wah Jee Wah/ Mexican supermarket across the Hayward Chime cemetery from 12 noon to 7pm and off for one day either Monday or Wednesday or when it rains. It was crunchy and flaky. Airy. Good balance of a touch of saltines and sweet sugary goodness and cinnamon. $10 for a bag of happiness ❤️“

Burrito

“These tacos were excellent. I had four tacos to try different meats and they were all super. Love the crunchiness of the tortilla, the taste of the meat, the grilled onions on the side. The truck itself looks super rundown, don't let that distract you from the goodness that is served. Grab a chair outside in the sun and scarf down some excellent food.“

Tamales Doña Lupe Street Vendors • $
1620 High St, Oakland - 4.54 miles

“Really tasty tamales with a kick! This is a cart on a one way street. Parking was easy right in front. Wanted 3 dozen tamales for a party so called to make sure they would have it and it was not a problem. $45 for 3 dozen = $1.25 each. So a nice discount from $2 each when you buy a dozen. Got pork, chicken, and cheese. My favorite was the chicken and least was pork. The pork was a bit too greasy for me. The cheese had big bits of jalapeno. Wrapped in banana leaves and moist. And it's been good reheated as leftovers a few days after. Easy to pay with a QR code - Zelle, Venmo, or cash.“

Tamales Doña Tere Mexican • $
4559 International Blvd, Oakland - 5.29 miles

“Really tasty tamales! They're a bit small, reflected in the price. The corn talales were the best and the chile and cheese were also delicious. The chicken and pork were a little light on filling, but still very tasty. But the green sauce! They should bottle that stuff, it's SO good!“

Woo Can Cook Street Vendors • $
420 3rd St, Oakland - 8.17 miles

“Make sure you check the website for their current location. Yelp's location is inaccurate. They are currently popped up next to Wondrous Brewing in Emeryville. My gf was at the brewery with her coworkers and brought some garlic noodles home. I was amazed with the crispy garlic noodles and the chili oil flavor I ate the whole thing before I even realized. The texture of the noodles is as if you were to eat instant noodles straight from the bag, nice and crunchy, with the flavor of spicy garlic noodles. I went on their website to find their menu so I can go buy more things.I got their garlic noodles again and also got their kimchi and bacon fried rice. Next time I'll get it in burrito form because why not? It sounds intriguing. But the fried rice was honestly only ok. It was average tasting. I will consistently go back for their garlic noodles and I will try more things from the menu. Great pop up find, wish them more business, cannot say this enough, I love the garlic noodles.“
