“During our Santa Barbara trips, we always enjoy delicious Thai food and red wine at Galanga Thai Restaurant (507 State Street). My top pick on the menu is the stir-fried Pineapple Fried Rice that includes shrimp, chicken, onion, peas, and carrots. I also really like the Crispy Egg Roll, Fried Wonton, Crab Cream Puff (crab meat and cream cheese filling), Shrimp Roll and Steamed White Rice. The Galanga is a family-run Thai restaurant that has been serving authentic and original recipes since 1983. With a focus on fresh produce and balanced flavors, they carry forward the rich culinary traditions of their founders, Ponphan and Chareonsak. The head chef, Wantana, grew up in Bangkok. This restaurant, named for the key Thai ingredient galangal, features dishes that evoke the taste of home-style cooking. If you go, enjoy!“

“lo recomienfo es unos de mis restaurant favorito la comida el servisio es exelente 💯“
“Their menu lists various options for vegetarians and the friendly staff know what vegan is and can adapt many of the dishes. The yellow curry was very aromatic, but the sauce on the cashew nut tofu was a bit bland. Both dishes came with lots of tofu, and with the rice were very filling.“

“Where do I start? This was our first time coming here after multiple recommendations and it did not disappoint. The ice cream was, IS, immaculate. I will say the price for a little scoop for ice cream is a bit much for what you get so honestly just get a big scoop for $2 more. The ice cream flavor range is so good, lots of vegan friendly options too! When it comes to Thai Tea I’m very picky because I don’t like when it’s too milky and sweet, let me just say this was the perfect Thai iced tea ever! We ordered the chicken pad see ew to go and we devoured it when we got home. This just became my new fave restaurant! 10/10 recommend“

“Third time here. The food is tasty and the portions are very generous. We got pad thai, yellow curry and fried rice. There were large shrimp in the pad thai and fried rice. Not a dine in place, get take out. We’re new to sb and glad we found it! We’ll be back“

“It was really good! Actually probably one of my preferred drunken noodles I've had in the area, flavor-wise. I avoided trying this place for years because of the reviews and finally tried it out because of the new management. The lunch special is an awesome deal. Friend also liked the pad thai (me too, which is rare because usually I find it too sweet)
Portions are about the same as other thai places. Hot spicy is more like medium. Will try out the thai spicy next time but hopefully they will still give the sauce and flakes to go because I'm definitely using them for instant noodles.“

“I rarely post reviews, but this restaurant deserves it. I was so impressed from the great quality of the food, fantastic service, cleanliness, and atmosphere. Variety of the food and appetizers on the menu were great, along with the wonderful flavors, and very reasonably priced. Highly recommended, and a must try.“
