We wandered in unexpectedly for dinner on a Saturday night and it was a delightful experience! Confused by the number of poor reviews and frankly a lot of them seem unjustified. We were greeted & seated promptly, single waiter was clearly stretched thin but he was very nice & apologetic about the wait (which was not even long). Ordered tandoori chicken, butter chicken, and salmon kebab—all were delicious & cooked perfectly but butter chicken was a real highlight. Very reasonably priced; 3 people with an app, entrees, sides, and beers for all came out to $97.

Randol was very unprofessional and his service could use a lot of improvement. Would highly recommend to choose another restaurant.

Food was way too spicy (even dishes that were not to be spicy at all), baked stuff was either too dry or half-baked. Service was mediocre at best. Would not come back :(

Interesting and tasty. Good service & prices. Nice addition to the area's selection.

Food was really bad, masala dosa was okay, coconu chutney did not taste good at all. Charged extra $: each for small bowl of sambar. Chai tasted very bad, asked to replace it with fresh batch.

Dosa was not good at all - chutney did not taste good and the sambar was sub par. Chai was not good either.

We literally just happened by on our way back to our car, and for a quick inconvenient stop that was already on our way, Tumbi was honestly a pretty impressive one. I was a huge fan of the bhel puri and the mushroom dosa. I definitely wanna come back next time I'm in LA to try more of their Dosas. Our server was very friendly, and the dining room was clean with good table to chair height ratios. Overall very solid, and worth a stop!

My wife and I have ordered takeout from Tumbi for many years. Last night we ordered the Afghani Seekh Kabob - instead of a kabob of ground lamb we got 4 small slices of dried beef with a sauce - terrible. Clearly they ran out of the kabob and through together this substitution. Not only did it taste terrible but I was charged $16 for it. If they ran out then they should have contacted me. I've noticed the quality of the food has diminished of late. I won't be ordering from them again.

They didn’t tell us that they didn’t have dosas, only found out when we ordered. We ordered our mains, we were a party of 3, 2 of our food arrived and 20 minutes later one of our parties food still had not arrived, they weren’t even bothered about it. All the side dishes were cold and the last person had to eat their food with cold rice. The waiters were not even bothered about it. We won’t be back. The butter chicken was nice, probably the only highlight of the food.

The staff was pretty disappointed to see us. We asked to sit in the patio and were told you can but the heaters do not function. We were still ok to sit outside and enjoy some Christmas lights as it was Christmas eve.Food was not upto the mark, we came with high hopes as this is a Michelin star restaurant but neither the service nor the food was good.

The food, service, and ambiance are amazing! We got the following (all were 10/10 and more than enough food for two people): - Hara Bara Kabob - Keema Pav - Cheese Dosa - Butter Chicken - Saffron Rice - Garlic Rice Eat here you can't go wrong.

Ordered masala dosas and plain dosas to go. Both dosas were super salty, Sambhar was terrible and no coconut chutney was provided. Instead they provided a super salty green sandwich chutney. Had to throw away most of the dosas. Never order dosas from here. For folks dining, ambiance/decor seemed nice.

We loved our dinner at Tumbi! The food was wonderful and reasonably priced. The service was great. The ambience was very pleasant. We had a great table outside, and the waiter made sure that the heater was working and kept us warm. Most importantly, the food is very interesting and every single dish was delicious, we had not been there in a while and we liked it so much three nights ago that we went back again last night. Highly recommended!

Great staff, courteous, and fast service. Food is amazing, lots of choices including fusion options. Outdoor seating available with heat ( if needed). Portions are small, but very good.
