“Yianni's is a long established Greek restaurant in downtown Sonora. Not sure of its backstory but it feels like a family-run business. I had a Gyro and Greek fries - both were delicious and generously portioned. Service was quick and friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.”

However, the staff doesn't know enough about how they're made or what makes the flavors what they are. So you know, don't expect an education from going here. The Brandy, however, and the limoncello and orange Jello were very good”

“We absolutely love Yoshoku! We have tried several ramen bowls and love all of them. The online ordering system is easy to navigate and well designed. I would suggest for anyone new to Yoshoku if you have any questions about the spice level, please call them. For me, I like a little spice so when given the option I choose G2. So far we had the Spicy Miso, Spicy Tomkatsu, the Tan Tan, Kango, and the Light Garlic. This is our new Hot Spot in Sonora!✌️❤️”

“A no nonsense taco shop that feels exactly as you want it. From the laminent booths to the hand written specials to the board of items lit up thats a bit too old.

Price was excellent, food was great, the salsa bar was STOCKED.

I had the carne Asada plate and an al pastor taco. The carne Asad plate was large fresh and cheap. The beans and rice were as expected and the Pico de gallo was top notch.

The al pastor left something to be desired. It wasnt bad, but it tasted more like I would expect chorizo to taste. Not bad, just not the best pastor I've encountered.

Even during the lunch rush the staff was friendly and prompt.

Highly recommend for a traditional taco shop experience.”

“This place makes the best sourdough bread! Have not come across a flavor that disappoints! The olive is a must try when they have it. Bacon Gouda is another that makes my mouth water just writing about it. Jim and Sunny are so friendly and nice in the shop and at the local farmers markets. I recently opened my horizons to a few of their “sweet” flavored loaves. I was skeptical on sweet flavors. However I am now a believer as they are amazing!”

“Vonnie made our wedding cake and it was so delicious. We don’t normally go for strawberry flavored cakes but it was hands down the best cake I’ve ever tasted. She did a beautiful job incorporating our wedding flowers as well. It was so pretty!”

“We ordered last minute a catered lunch for 12 people, and the customer service and food was absolutely amazing! Everyone enjoyed the fresh chicken salad, on a fresh baked brioche bun, the tortellini salad was light and delicious, and the cookie was phenomenal! We will all be definitely going back, and will continue to think of them for the future! You must try this little hidden gem!”

“Coffee is good but the five stars for is really for the owner Nick. He’s always friendly and willing to chat, has a real range of knowledge including some great hiking suggestions. I worked in Sonora for 2 months and made it a point to explore as much as possible, and Nox coffee was by far my favorite spot- it’s a neighborhood coffee shop at its best.”

“Taqueria La Esmeralda is a small Mexican restaurant in a strip mall. The food is good, however maybe not the best in the area. They do have a generous chip bar with lots of sauces and other garnishings. I would eat here again if my favorite taco truck down the road isn't available.”

Tons of food choices and they are super accommodating with preferences/allergies, etc. That being said, I'm unsure if all of this was worth the 15-30 minutes I spent waiting in a long line and then for my food. “I am Schnoogs newest number 1 fan!! As someone who has been gluten free for two years, I could not be more impressed with Schnoogs’ selection and variety of GF products. Hands down the best GF scones I have ever had (and I live in NYC). I’ve had the breakfast sandwich with gluten free bread twice now and it’s been amazing. Delicious GF/ vegan brownies, GF cookies and wedges (GF biscuit with bacon, cheese, chives). Sally and the entire staff have been so lovely every time we’ve been in - our new friends in town!! Couldn’t recommend Schnoogs enough! Can’t wait to come back every time I’m in town and try something new off the amazing menu.”

“Ate here for the first time last night. My husband and I arrived just after they opened at 3:00 with another couple. This was the first time the four of us had dined here. We were not disappointed, as we heard good things about this place. Great service at the fall bar when my husband arrived before our friends, and had a couple of drinks as we waited. We were pleasantly chatted up with the bartender and we felt very welcome. The humble atmosphere was "old school", as far as lay-out and decor. As a Boomer, this place reminded me of family restaurants we had grown up with during my growing-up years in the 60's and 70's that we loved dining at. We were all seated in a deep, comfy booth. The dining room was beginning to fill up quickly by 4pm, and you'll notice the dining room is very "tight" and tables close together, so you must be somewhat agile to weave through tight spaces. The staff is plentiful and they are bustling. We each chose from the Early Bird menu (selected dishes at the deep discount of two meals for $29.99 from 3:00-6:00pm) which starts out with good bread and fondue, delicious soup or salad; the entrees are flavorful and well prepared, desserts included. Service was prompt, attentive and friendly. By 5:00 this dining room was full and because it is family oriented and tables closely spaced, be prepared for a noisy background, but somehow this brings a happy sound to add to the mix. Good date-place, but light conversation probably should be the topics of choice. My hearing is keen, but here, deep meaningful conversation should wait until you get back into the car. Bathroom facilities should probably get an update. But, other than that, great meals, friendly service, lots of attentive staff.”

“I've been enjoying the dark oily Italian Roast from Mother Lode Coffee daily since 1998. Loved this one so much I would even drive up from the Bay Area to Sonora to buy it in the 2lb bag for a few years until i found it for sale in a couple of markets in the East Bay. One of the best 'perks' of living in the Gold Country. Highly recommended!”

“I tried you fresh market seafood yesterday it has a great flavor and it’s so refreshing. The only criticism I have is that there is so much celery in it . I had a half cut serving and there was almost two servings of celery. Other wise it was delicious and had a good amount of seafood in it. I will still buy it I loved it.”

“What a fun place to hang out. Good drinks, fast service. Old school environment, everyone new each other. Despite being the only people from out of town we were welcomed by the whole bar and had a great time. Locals told me about it and I had to check it out. Would recommend stopping in.”

“Attended an eighth birthday party for a young lady here this afternoon. We had four pizzas, cheese, pepperoni, supreme and Hawaiian. They were very good pizzas and brought out on time. The employees were great about asking if we needed anything and helping us out. There is a self-serve soda machine with Pepsi products!!! There are some grabber games, arcade games, an old school metal horse the kids can ride and some machines that have stickers, candies, bouncy balls and little toys. These are the things that cost a quarter, (or less for the candies and toys) when I was a kid. I didn't pay attention to how much they cost here now. Probably $1 or $2.

Parking: Very large parking lot with handicap spaces.

Kid-friendliness: Fun games and things in the back for the kids and most kids love pizza!

Wheelchair accessibility: Doors are not automatic, but walkers and wheelchairs can get in and can easily fit down the walkways and in-between tables. I also noticed the employees will open and hold doors for people using walkers, wheelchairs or canes.”
