“Yianni's is a long established Greek restaurant in downtown Sonora. Not sure of its backstory but it feels like a family-run business. I had a Gyro and Greek fries - both were delicious and generously portioned. Service was quick and friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.”

Chris was a great host and we were surprised to find that he had only been working at the reserve for short period of time. His sparkling personality, knowledge,and overall enthusiasm for the orchard and the ciders, brandys, and vodkas made the visit 10x better.

“We absolutely love Yoshoku! We have tried several ramen bowls and love all of them. The online ordering system is easy to navigate and well designed. I would suggest for anyone new to Yoshoku if you have any questions about the spice level, please call them. For me, I like a little spice so when given the option I choose G2. So far we had the Spicy Miso, Spicy Tomkatsu, the Tan Tan, Kango, and the Light Garlic. This is our new Hot Spot in Sonora!✌️❤️”

“It was my first time to eat at the Armory but it won’t be my last. The food was great at a very reasonable price and I can’t believe how big this restaurant is. The size is deceiving from the road but once you get inside it will impress you.”

“Ate here for the first time last night. My husband and I arrived just after they opened at 3:00 with another couple. This was the first time the four of us had dined here. We were not disappointed, as we heard good things about this place. Great service at the fall bar when my husband arrived before our friends, and had a couple of drinks as we waited. We were pleasantly chatted up with the bartender and we felt very welcome. The humble atmosphere was "old school", as far as lay-out and decor. As a Boomer, this place reminded me of family restaurants we had grown up with during my growing-up years in the 60's and 70's that we loved dining at. We were all seated in a deep, comfy booth. The dining room was beginning to fill up quickly by 4pm, and you'll notice the dining room is very "tight" and tables close together, so you must be somewhat agile to weave through tight spaces. The staff is plentiful and they are bustling. We each chose from the Early Bird menu (selected dishes at the deep discount of two meals for $29.99 from 3:00-6:00pm) which starts out with good bread and fondue, delicious soup or salad; the entrees are flavorful and well prepared, desserts included. Service was prompt, attentive and friendly. By 5:00 this dining room was full and because it is family oriented and tables closely spaced, be prepared for a noisy background, but somehow this brings a happy sound to add to the mix. Good date-place, but light conversation probably should be the topics of choice. My hearing is keen, but here, deep meaningful conversation should wait until you get back into the car. Bathroom facilities should probably get an update. But, other than that, great meals, friendly service, lots of attentive staff.”

“My girlfriend and I absolutely love sourdough bread, and well honestly, bread in general. That said, we’re always on the hunt for a good local spot wherever we go. Anytime we travel to a new area, we make a point to seek out small bakeries or mom-and-pop shops, because that’s where the real magic happens, the kind of goodies that feel like it came from someone’s soul, not a factory. That’s exactly what we found at Pence Farm Sourdough. We’ve been visiting since pretty close to their opening days, and even though we don’t live full-time in Sonora, we make it a point to swing by every time we’re in town. It’s become one of those rituals, the type of stop that you genuinely look forward to when you’re headed up the hill. The bread speaks for itself, but getting to know Jim and Sunny and seeing their family involved, at the shop and the farmers markets, just makes the whole experience that much better. It’s real. It’s wholesome. It’s local done right. As far as favorites go? Man, that’s a tough one. The Cinnamon Roll Focaccia hits so hard I’ve caught myself daydreaming about it. I could honestly eat a whole one to myself (and may or may not have tried). The Bacon Gouda loaf? Fire. That Peach Toast? Next-level. Everything I’ve had has been exquisite. Even their sandwiches are on point, I had a turkey, bacon, avocado with sprouts that was fresh, flavorful, and built just right. I was stuffed lol... The thing is, this isn’t just good bread. It’s memorable bread. It’s the kind of bread you talk about later. It’s the kind of place you tell your friends about, and then insist on taking them there. Huge shoutout to the Pence Farm family, thank you for doing what you do and for keeping the sourdough culture alive and thriving up in Sonora. We’ll definitely keep supporting and look forward to each visit. If you’re in or around Sonora, or even just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop in. Price was excellent, food was great, the salsa bar was STOCKED.

I had the carne Asada plate and an al pastor taco. The carne Asad plate was large fresh and cheap. The beans and rice were as expected and the Pico de gallo was top notch.

The al pastor left something to be desired. It wasnt bad, but it tasted more like I would expect chorizo to taste. Not bad, just not the best pastor I've encountered.

Even during the lunch rush the staff was friendly and prompt.

Highly recommend for a traditional taco shop experience.”

“We stopped in for lunch and were amazed by the staff and food. Everything was awesome from the drinks to the in house made ranch dressing. The avocado fries? OMG Delicious! I had The Feast a prime rib sandwich with at least half pound of meat and my daughter had the Prime Rib dip and my wife had the Chili Burger all beyond delicious. We are definitely coming back. We talked on the way home and want to try everything on the menu. Most everything is made in house. Thank you for an amazing experience and awesome food!!!”

Loved this one so much I would even drive up from the Bay Area to Sonora to buy it in the 2lb bag for a few years until i found it for sale in a couple of markets in the East Bay. Hands down the best GF scones I have ever had (and I live in NYC). I’ve had the breakfast sandwich with gluten free bread twice now and it’s been amazing. Delicious GF/ vegan brownies, GF cookies and wedges (GF biscuit with bacon, cheese, chives). Sally and the entire staff have been so lovely every time we’ve been in - our new friends in town!! “Taqueria la Esmeralda is delicious. You have the option of fast food for take out or a nice casual sit down meal. They have seating both indoor and patio. The staff is always friendly and smiling. I have never been in when it wasnt busy. Today we went in for the taco Tuesday special, we ordered quite a few tacos to go and the turn around time for that amount of food was great. They have a self service salsa bar and chips.
We got carne asada tacos, carnitas and pollo asado tacos. We have tried other foods previously- nachos, burritos & quesadillas. All equally delicious.”

This tells me that either the app isn’t conveying that I didn’t want ice in the first place, or some of the workers aren’t reading the app requests. Hopefully this will change in the future.”

“Attended an eighth birthday party for a young lady here this afternoon. We had four pizzas, cheese, pepperoni, supreme and Hawaiian. They were very good pizzas and brought out on time. The employees were great about asking if we needed anything and helping us out. There is a self-serve soda machine with Pepsi products!!! There are some grabber games, arcade games, an old school metal horse the kids can ride and some machines that have stickers, candies, bouncy balls and little toys. These are the things that cost a quarter, (or less for the candies and toys) when I was a kid. I didn't pay attention to how much they cost here now. Probably $1 or $2.

Parking: Very large parking lot with handicap spaces.

Kid-friendliness: Fun games and things in the back for the kids and most kids love pizza!

Wheelchair accessibility: Doors are not automatic, but walkers and wheelchairs can get in and can easily fit down the walkways and in-between tables. I also noticed the employees will open and hold doors for people using walkers, wheelchairs or canes.”

I like how people from India are able to own businesses and do different things at the same time. I highly recommend this place for anybody who wants to stop by near the grocery store in town.”
