If you haven’t checked out Kobe Steak House yet, you are seriously missing out. It is one of those rare places that gets everything right: the food is awesome, the people are great, and you don’t have to empty your wallet to get a fantastic meal. Whether you go for a quick bite or a full dinner, they absolutely nail it every single time. It has quickly become one of my favorite go-to spots in town.
First off, the sushi here is incredible. Sometimes you go to a steakhouse and the sushi feels like a total afterthought, but that is definitely not the case here. The fish is always super fresh, tastes amazing, and looks great when it hits the table. Whether you like simple, traditional rolls or the massive specialty ones packed with unique flavors and sauces, you won't be disappointed. The chefs clearly know exactly what they are doing behind the counter. It’s easily some of the best sushi in the entire area, and it beats out a lot of the dedicated sushi bars around.
Another huge plus is their lunch menu. If you’re looking for a killer lunch spot that’s fast but still feels like a real, high-quality meal, this is it. They have an awesome variety of lunch specials that give you plenty of food without costing a fortune. It is the perfect midday break when you want something delicious that fits easily into a standard lunch hour. You get the same great quality as the dinner service, just in a perfect lunchtime size.
Speaking of costs, the prices here are incredibly fair across the board. Nowadays, going out to eat can get crazy expensive, and you often leave feeling like you paid too much for too little. Kobe keeps things totally reasonable. The portions are big, the ingredients are top-notch, and you actually feel like you got your money's worth when the bill comes. It is nice to find a spot where you can leave completely full and happy with what you spent.
To top it all off, the staff is just wonderful. From the second you walk through the front door, everyone is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. They take great care of you throughout the entire meal, the service is fast, and they genuinely make you feel right at home. You can tell the crew here actually cares about the customers having a great experience, which makes the whole vibe of the place even better.
Kobe Steak House completely checks every single box. Great sushi, excellent lunch deals, fair prices, and a super friendly crew. You really can’t ask for much more out of a local restaurant. Five stars all day!”

“We absolutely love Yoshoku! We have tried several ramen bowls and love all of them. The online ordering system is easy to navigate and well designed. I would suggest for anyone new to Yoshoku if you have any questions about the spice level, please call them. For me, I like a little spice so when given the option I choose G2. So far we had the Spicy Miso, Spicy Tomkatsu, the Tan Tan, Kango, and the Light Garlic. This is our new Hot Spot in Sonora!✌️❤️”

“Ate here for the first time last night. My husband and I arrived just after they opened at 3:00 with another couple. This was the first time the four of us had dined here. We were not disappointed, as we heard good things about this place. Great service at the fall bar when my husband arrived before our friends, and had a couple of drinks as we waited. We were pleasantly chatted up with the bartender and we felt very welcome. The humble atmosphere was "old school", as far as lay-out and decor. As a Boomer, this place reminded me of family restaurants we had grown up with during my growing-up years in the 60's and 70's that we loved dining at. We were all seated in a deep, comfy booth. The dining room was beginning to fill up quickly by 4pm, and you'll notice the dining room is very "tight" and tables close together, so you must be somewhat agile to weave through tight spaces. The staff is plentiful and they are bustling. We each chose from the Early Bird menu (selected dishes at the deep discount of two meals for $29.99 from 3:00-6:00pm) which starts out with good bread and fondue, delicious soup or salad; the entrees are flavorful and well prepared, desserts included. Service was prompt, attentive and friendly. By 5:00 this dining room was full and because it is family oriented and tables closely spaced, be prepared for a noisy background, but somehow this brings a happy sound to add to the mix. Good date-place, but light conversation probably should be the topics of choice. My hearing is keen, but here, deep meaningful conversation should wait until you get back into the car. Bathroom facilities should probably get an update. But, other than that, great meals, friendly service, lots of attentive staff.”

“JUST TRY IT!!! seriously this is the best Mexican restaurant hands-down in Sonora and arguably in a lot of the surrounding areas for sure even stands up to Modesto. These people know their stuff and they care they never take shortcuts. There’s always more food than expected. I get the shrimp and octopus cocktail and it’s ridiculously good tons of protein. I also enjoy their Carnitas and I know good Carnitas , everything on the menu is ridiculously good.

Loved this one so much I would even drive up from the Bay Area to Sonora to buy it in the 2lb bag for a few years until i found it for sale in a couple of markets in the East Bay. Hands down the best GF scones I have ever had (and I live in NYC). I’ve had the breakfast sandwich with gluten free bread twice now and it’s been amazing. “This is my boyfriends absolute favorite Chinese food. Last night we dined in and the family greeted us as family as they always do. We were seated promptly and provided menus. We usually get the same thing when we go - just change up the apps. Last night as the weather was cold and rainy, we ordered some Egg Flower Soup. It was delicious! We also ordered some egg rolls & pot stickers. The restaurant was empty when we went in as it was close to closing time. There is a old saloon vibe in here, I do love that they kept all the old brands on the walls.
For our main course we got the SPK plates which are their specials plates that includes BBQ Pork Fried Rice, Chow Mein, Sweet & Sour Pork & Fried Prawns.
They all have a great flavor and the owners are so kind. We love this place!”
