“Went early afternoon on a Friday and ordered the Pupus Platter and a guava Hawaiian sun. The Pupus Platter came with spam musubi, kalua nachos, macnut onion rings, ahi poke, and teriyaki skewers. They also bring complimentary two small hawaiian rolls with butter. I was well tended to, even though I sat at the counter, and my server did a great job of making sure I had everything I needed. Portion size was huge and is enough to easily feed two people. No complaints on the food - I was pleasantly surprised by the lighter batter on the onion rings and loved the poke and kalua nachos. They used ogonori if I’m correct in the poke, which gives it a similar chewiness to wood ear mushrooms. It’s a very diner style vibe on the inside, especially with the counter being directly of access to the kitchen and coffee counter. “Food was so-so. I had curry katsu chicken with vegetables. The vegetables were pretty tasteless, but the curry itself was ok. My grandma and mother had the teriyaki beef with noodles and rice, which they said was ok, but my mother said the beef was salty. The girl who took our order was a bit rude, but the other girl there who helped me later and brought our food was very nice. Will probably visit again, if only to try some of the other things in the menu, which is pretty large, and the shaved ice.“

We were on a birthday trip to cali for the kids and one of there requests was to eat chicken katsu! i looked online and found nothing with good reviews but on the way back to the hotel one night we spotted Ono and even though we were exhausted we decided to give it a try and im so glad we did!
