“I remember coming in here with my Savta every Thursday to help her pick up fresh food/produce for Shabbat dinner. Those are some of the greatest & fondest memories that I have of & with My Savta.!Please, If you have never been here before, just give them a try, if you do not like them, then, by all means, go some place else.*NEVER let any opportunity pass you by.*“
“This has become my favorite place to eat! The service is always great. The food fantastic. Best pastrami ever. I never have to wait for a refill on my drink. The prices are very Reasonable. recommend this place for everyone. I can't wait to do my next cousin lunch here.“
“I ordered to go on this particular visit and my food was ready at the time promised ! Their Lotto machine was fully functioning as an added bonus and as such I made a small donation . My only issue is the baby size of the side dish the macaroni salad - it was the size of a sample you'd get in a supermarket. Other than that the tuna melt itself was very tasty. I'll be back soon.“
“The food is incredible. It's guaranteed. But the service could be better, and frankly, they could update their location. They get too packed to not have a larger entry/waiting area. It's chaotic and extremely overwhelming at the front.“
“Cavaretta's has the most authentic Italian sandwiches in the Valley, as well as a great little Italian mini mart. I often go when they're busy, but the atmosphere is so friendly, and the aroma is so enticing, that I really don't mind the wait. It seems as though every time I'm there, I meet someone who wants to talk about how long they've been a Cavaretta's customer, and how much they love their food and whole experience!“
“I had the San Carlo special. It was pretty good. I've had better subs at places like Jersey Mike's. However, San Carlo is very good at its slightly lower price point. I will go back to try some of their more expensive options to see how those compare. I also had some of their pizza bread. The pizza bread is very good, which gives me hope for their pizzas, so I will be trying those out as well and updating my review.“
“Basil's Deli Cafe in Woodland Hills is an absolute gem, and my repeated visits speak volumes about its excellence. I've savored their culinary delights on five separate occasions, and each time has been a flavor journey beyond compare.Let's start with their hot pastrami sub; it's a masterpiece of tender meat, perfectly seasoned and nestled within a fresh, fluffy bun. The flavors meld together in perfect harmony, leaving a lingering satisfaction that keeps me coming back for more. The Philly cheesesteak is a classic done right at Basil's. Juicy, succulent strips of beef, smothered in melted cheese, all encased within a crusty roll – it's a carnivore's dream come true. Each bite is a symphony of textures and tastes, showcasing the culinary prowess of the chefs. Now, onto the spicy Gia, Maria Mamma Mia Panini – a mouthful in more ways than one. This fiery creation packs a punch with every bite, yet it's balanced with the richness of melted cheese and the freshness of quality ingredients. It's bold, it's daring, and it's utterly addictive.Their chicken pesto Panini is a testament to simplicity done right. Tender chicken, fragrant basil pesto, and gooey cheese come together to create a symphony of Italian flavors. It's comfort food at its finest, leaving me feeling satisfied and content with each indulgent bite.In summary, Basil's Deli Cafe is a culinary haven where every dish is crafted with care and passion. Whether you're craving a hot pastrami sub, a classic Philly cheesesteak, or something with a bit of a kick, you're guaranteed to find satisfaction here. With each visit, I'm reminded of why I keep returning – the impeccable taste, the friendly service, and the unforgettable dining experience. It's a true gem in Woodland Hills, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking an out-of-this-world dining experienceParking: Parking is ample easy to findWheelchair accessibility: Easy flat access“
“Ike's has the best vegetarian subs around! Well, from what I've tried anyway. Few months back I tried their Freddy Krueger sandwich (not vegetarian) on their dutch crunch and it was great. The dutch crunch is delicious. I also tried their James and the giant peach recently and it'll be my go-to anytime I visit for sure! All the ingredients come together perfectly and the vegan fried chicken is good too! Their sandwiches come with a candy (caramel apple lollipops) and as someone with a sweet tooth, I love it. Service was good and my sandwich came out in a timely manner. It's a great place to grab a bite after running errands in the plaza.“
“I was looking for a deli in Encino to go to after my doctor's appointment, Uncle Bernie's DID NOT disappointment! I had THE BEST Monte Cristo sandwich! I also had exceptional potato pancakes. My husband loved his Maria burrito. A fine example of a New York deli.Parking: I was here at noon on a Thursday. There was ample parking, but shares with other businesses.“
“We ate dinner in the bar side and it's a nice vibe, lots of folks relaxed and enjoying their meals. Pastrami burger was excellent, cooked just as asked, juicy, great combo of flavors. We also decided to grab some muffins in the morning and wow we're they great, blueberry and chocolate chip, both super tasty.“
“This review of country deli comes from a longtime customer, myself! I've been eating at this restaurant for almost 30 years! I Can honestly say that they make the best pastrami sandwich in the area. The service at the restaurant is excellent. The staff are so kind and friendly and you're always able to get a table fairly quickly. in closing, I highly recommend eating a big fat pastrami sandwich at Country deli so that you can feel guilty and go to the gym and work it off.“
“This is my go-to place for anything related to Italian cuisine. Any authentic Italian ingredient; they will have. Also, their lasagna might the best I've had in LA. I'm from NYC, and place makes me feel like I'm Little Italy in Manhattan.“
“Delicious! Perfectly balanced sandwich, the bagel itself was so soft! We got the smoked salmon on cheese and jalapeño bagel. I had never tasted a bagel that didn't feel a bit dense. It was perfection. Don't turn away when you see the long line! It's worth it and The staff is amazing, friendly and attentive, they also have a real sense of urgency to get your order out asap. Will be back again! No picture because it was too damn good to pause to take one!“
“This sandwich spot has a great selection of cold and hot sandwiches, burgers, wraps. Chips ,fries, fountain drinks, Mexican sodas.I like the Reuben sandwich, pastrami sandwich and Turkey avocado. The service is great, fast service. They got a couple of televisions , clean place and great food.Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.Parking: Parking behind building.“
“Best sandwiches in town. Hands down. Great selection. Great people. Great local spot. The prosciutto sub on crusty roll is my go to. Or the meatball sub. Or the Ruben. Or a panini. Can't go wrong! I'm here at least once a week. Thanks guys!“
“One of the best bagel/lox platters I've had on either coast. Cozy environment, clean surfaces and very good coffee. Can only speak to breakfast but the breakfast sandwich and waffle my party also ordered were all excellent. Not too busy at 8am on a Monday - a great experience and I will be happy to return and test their lunch/dinner options.Parking: Shopping center with 3 hour limit but plenty of spaces.Kid-friendliness: Cozy booths, good sized kids menu.“
“They have the best chicken noodle soup! The menu is similar to what you'd see at Brent's in Northridge. There's not too much focus on ambiance or the presentation of the food, honestly. Each time I've been there it's been fairly busy, if not crowded and it doesn't seem like they have enough help. At the end of the day, the food is very reasonably priced and tastes good.“
“I went to purchase my ham as I do almost every year. When I pulled up I noticed the line was more than 2 blocks long on incline. I Stuffer from an autoimmune disease that has messed up my mobility with being said. I got out of my car to t that long line with my walker and started Up the incline towards the end of the line when one of the honey baked employees came running after me me. He kindly tapped me on the shoulder and said ma'am please come with me we want you to come inside to purchase your ham, they s as me struggling up the incline. I did not expect that I just wanted to get in line and eventually purchase my ham. They acted with compassion and kindness they helped me down the incline they walked with me until they saw I was safely inside. I want to sincerely thank all the honey baked employees that day two days before thanksgiving 2023. Yes the ham was delicious“
“I finally tried the sandwich I've been thinking about, pastrami, my favorite among them all! Even though I've had tastier pastrami sandwiches in different styles, this old-school pastrami is delicious too! When I'm in LA, I'll definitely have it again!“
“We were very happy we stopped in for lunch. The chopped liver appetizer and the tongue and pastrami sandwich were fantastic. The matzo ball soup was somewhat disappointing (but I am somewhat spoiled with a lifetime of fantastic, homemade soup) that had a ridiculously humongous matzo ball. The "light lunch for one" combo was enough food for an entire day and anything but light!“
“This place is so tiny. But, it really packs a punch. With a deli counter, baked goods, a selection of imported goods, sandwiches, and even some ready made frozen meals. They cram a lot into a small space. But, it's all very authentic. My mom loves the cold cut sandwiches here, so I've been eating them for years. I've also had the turkey sandwich. The turkey was sliced thinly, and the bread is always wonderful. Their sandwiches are always fantastic. And, the frozen baked Ziti is a delicious and convenient way to enjoy a restaurant quality Italian meal at home.“
“So I finally found this place that was recommended to me. I got a breakfast burrito and it was delicious. The flavors were amazing and staff and service was quick. When i got there it was a handful of ppl but the most I waited was like 10 mins so it wasn't bad. It's a cool lil spot and I will most definitely become a regular when am in the area. Thank you guys and see you again soon..“
“I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! I've been going for years because the food is delicious , the service is impeccable and the owners are so friendly and personal. Top notch!!!Dietary restrictions: Any time I ask for something to be modified or omitted they are always so sweet and accommodating !Parking: great“
“Been coming here for a few years. Great spot and affordable. We usually get a breakfast plate, stack of pancakes, two coffees and one OJ for around $35. Not bad and food is hot, delicious and at our table in five minutes. Diner vibes with nice people.“
“Finally got a sandwich from this place and it did not disappoint at all! I ordered the West Coast Burger and couldn't believe how much I loved it. Never had an egg on my burger, and it was definitely a great surprise! This place is definitely going to be a regular on my visits out to UCLA!!! OUTSTANDING!!!“
“This place is not about atmosphere, although they do have a cute sitting area. I gave them 5 for atmosphere because I didn’t want them to get lower rating. We just love their sandwiches; always fresh meats but most widely known secret of theirs is….their bread! They make it a couple minutes before they prepare their sandwiches. Have to order at least once a month!Parking: Park in the back“
“You can never go wrong with a Fat Texas with extra BBQ sauce and extra cheese sticks. Yeah it's a little pricey but honestly for the quality and taste there's nothing like it. The shakes are amazing my go to is always the strawberry cheesecake milkshake. First taste and you're hooked for life.“
“Easy parking. Friendly sales people. Some unique choices of produce I buy regularly. I recommend to check their frozen barres, fermented choices, fresh cakes, teas. I also use their service to send abroad the multiple packages , particularly the humanitarian help to Ukraine“
“Yes please! I've loved this place since my parents moved to Tarzana in 1985. For some reason I'm stuck on the salami wrap. I rarely waver. Always get that, some stuffed grape leaves (which are to die for), a bag of chips and a drink and that's my idea of a perfect lunch. They have three or four tables if you just can't wait to get it home. Lots of fun, interesting Armenian groceries as well. Everyone who works behind the counter is super friendly and the sandwiches come out before you know it. A Tarzana classic for many decades!“
