“Met for a Summer Vacation lunch today with my Bestie (who has enjoyed CAVIAR COMPANY before on several occasions). We are both teachers, so our downtime events need to feel extra special. Svetlana (Our AMAZING Server) made certain that we were treated to the perfect experience. Knowledgable about the food/wining pairings, but also beyond passionate about her joy for caviar/champagne. Menu prices might appear high, but you can mix and match items and share plates. EXTRAORDINARY!!”

“This is for the tasting room AND the Advent calendar from 2023.Tasting room - the woman who runs it is very experienced and we enjoyed chatting with her as she explained a variety of wines to us. There were some really delicious ones we had. One thing I found totally obnoxious and unhelpful were the descriptions of the wine. No joke - these were some descriptions. I was cringing so hard reading them.“Like a pair of silky red pajamas”“Like going on a 2nd date”They are trying too hard here to seem cool and it was embarrassing how useless the descriptions were. We are paying for wine, please describe it. This is not a creative writing class. Thank goodness the lady who ran the tasting room was there to give us further explanation about the actual flavor, aromatics or profile we should expect when tasting. She agreed the written descriptions were not as helpful as they could be but it was not her decision. We seriously would not have tried any of the wines just based on those descriptions. I had to knock off one star because of this.Advent calendar - was skeptical based on some shipping issues I read from the previous year. I got mine on time and the variety was good! I would say I really enjoyed about 70% and the 30% were interesting/good, not my favorite but cool to try. I would do it again next year.”

“I came with my spouse to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was delicious, meat was cooked to perfection, chicken Parmesan was saucy. We ordered an affogato, it was delicious but I wish they had served the gelato ice cream and espresso shot separately. This would have given me the option to control how rapidly the ice cream melted. By the time it reached the table it had more of liquid texture, there was no need for the spoons as we were sipping the affogato. A thick straw would have been a more appropriate utensil choice. We also had a pistachio Crème Brûlée, it was delicious although topping the whole top with whipped cream was a bit of overkill. I feel like a small dab while still showing the caramelized sugar would have been better presentation. The cream on top looked like it could have been a scoop of gelato but with a disappointing taste of whipped cream.”

“Best food and drinks all weekend long. Marco was just an amazing individual. He made our anniversary even more special. My husband is a huge mezcal fan and asked if there was a drink the bartender could make and sure enough they made the most spectacular drink! We loved the food and drinks so much we stopped in after our long hike from Angel Island. I ordered the same mezcal drink as my husband did the night before. G was just an amazing bartender and helped us out with all the different types of mezcal and what characteristics they bring to the table. Marco even recognized us and said you guys are back. I have been telling everyone about your amazing restaurant and not just the quality of food but just the atmosphere and experience we had with the staff. They are all welcoming and make you feel like family.”

“Caffe Acri is a wonderful spot for food, coffee, and desserts! We ordered gelato and they had a wonderful array of flavors. They have dairy-free sorbet flavors so vegans and lactose intolerant people can still find a delicious gelato. I highly recommend the raspberry, lemon, and spumoni flavors!

“This place was really amazing. The weight staff was all great. They helped me out with a small issue. I had with my diabetes by providing me with some orange juice because my blood sugar had gotten low. I truly appreciate him doing that for me. Thank you so much and I will come back again next time I’m in San Diego.”

“Liholiho is a fantastic restaurant! The space is modern and beautifully designed, with an open kitchen where you can watch everything being prepared, which adds a lot of energy and transparency to the dining experience.

The service was very friendly, attentive, and quick. The cocktails were excellent, and even the non-alcoholic one I ordered was made with care and tasted great.

The food was outstanding. The bun with beef tongue was extraordinary, the tuna tartare and ceviche were perfectly balanced and fresh, and the shrimps with crispy rice were especially memorable. All dishes showed creativity, originality, and were prepared with high quality ingredients.

For three people, including first and main courses, drinks, and one dessert, the bill came to $260, which I found fair for this level of quality. The only minus point is that the restaurant does not offer coffee, which would have been a nice way to finish the meal.

Overall, I really enjoyed everything at Liholiho. Highly recommended, and I hope I will get to return again!”
