I don't have a Salvadorean grandma but it tasted authentic to us! lol! Their pupusas were so good that my kids had 2 each! Usually my daughter can only finish one but she actually scarfed 2 revueltas down without any problem. My husband ordered their caldo de res and I had their beef stew plate (I forgot the name). Whatever you order, you cannot go wrong! According to our kids, the food was deliciously amazing!! *chef's kiss* and she said, compliments to the chef. My son said, "do not judge the place by the looks because their food and the people were awesome!" The staff were hospitable and friendly; they welcomed us like family. The restaurant is super clean inside, and has an "A" rating from the health department. About those pupusas: we ordered pork and queso and shrimp and queso. The pupusas were light, not heavy like some we have had. They were crispy and had a great flavor! Also, they put a gallon size container of curtido at our table; very much appreciated since we love topping our pupusas with this. “A friend of mine brings me breakfast from here all the time. They do a breakfast sandwich that is so delicious. It's scrambled eggs with chorizo, beans, sour cream and a harder saltier cheese on sweet bread. It is a to die for breakfast sandwich. Their quesadillas (not the Mexican kind, the Salvadoran kind) are the best I've ever had. They also have a pineapple filled cream cheese muffin that's out of this world. I got the bean and cheese with loroco pupusa; absolutely delicious. The corn meal masa was perfect texture meaning she mixes it well. The daughter let me order a pupusa without cheese (since all the pupusa options come with cheese), and I appreciated that. “After the old El Salvador restaurant I use to go to went out of business I had to find a new one. I tried a few places and I didn't like it, luckily I found El Trebol. Food is amazing, it's always fresh! I have read a couple reviews in which they say the food took a long time to come out and all I have to say about that is DUH! Food here is fresh and made to order. The pupusas are some of the best I've had! Anytime I'm feeling under the weather I get the sopa de gallina india which is salvi version of chicken noodle soup without the noodles and a lot more veggies. Customer service was great with great prices on their food. I decided to get 3 pupusas, two revueltas and one con queso y chicharon. Food was freshly made which was perfect for this cold weather. The only thing that I had a lil problem with was that they didn't give enough condiments for my three pupusas. I should of asked for extra but not sure if that would be additional $$. “My favorite thing here is the sopa de res, it's pure comfort food. It comes with 2 tortillas and a small side of rice, I also usually ask for a small side of curtido. I'm not that familiar with Salvadoran food, so I was thinking Mexican tortillas the first time I ordered, but it's the soft, thick, handmade Salvadoran corn tortillas. So yummy. Enough for two people (or one very hungry person like me). It's not cheap (I think around $15) but totally worth it. The pupusas are also tasty. It takes about 15-20 minutes to prep the food, so you might want to call it in ahead of time if you are in a hurry. $1 extra charge if you use a credit card. Employees are masked. They sell gallinas rellenas and tamales de pollo for Thanksgiving and Christmas. When I went last week, the hours on their door were 9am to 7:30pm every day. The people who work there are really nice. I don't know how much English they speak. I show up speaking bad Spanish and they roll with it.“
