“We are visiting Black Hawk from Minnesota. We stopped in to JKQ BBQ to have dinner. We were seated in the bar area. Our waitress was probably the best waitress we have had. We were also celebrating our son’s birthday he found out they had tres leches cake which is his favorite. This waitress makes it herself for this restaurant. This was seriously the best we have had, it wasn’t too sweet, the flavor was on point , whipped cream from scratch, just purely amazing. She found out it was his birthday and brought him a huge cinnamon roll with a happy birthday on it. She was not just doing her job. She went above and beyond to make our experience fabulous. The gentleman singing and playing guitar sang happy birthday to my son as well. It takes a lot to make a 17 year old boy gitty! And he sure was all smiles and giggly. Last but not least, the food was absolutely phenomenal! We all tried something different and every single thing was absolutely delicious!”

“When you been on the trail, with some dust on your brim. Dismount that trusty steed or Subaru and saddle up to the Bar for a cocktail before supper or a hard night of gambling. This place looks like a Movie Set except it's real as the spurs on your feet. Let's ride!”

“The service provided by Danette was awesome. The lunch menu was full of very interesting choices all made from scratch nothing is frozen. We selected the Colorado Cobb Salad, Blackened Shrimp Tacos and Soy Glazed Salmon Salad. Eating our selections in an establishment from the 1800 's was over the top. The plating of each selection combined with the taste is truly an amazing treasure. If you're up in Central City do make your way here for some GREAT FOOD AND BEVERAGE.”

“Oh my gosh! We were delighted by this hidden gem in Idaho Springs. My wife and I were wishing we could have access to a restaurant like this closer to our home. The food was outstanding, we both felt this was the best Thai/SE Asian food we’ve eaten. We ordered veg spring rolls, Green Curry Chicken and Chicken Laab. The food was fresh and the flavors were just perfect. Thank you! Will definitely make the effort to stop here on our trips to the mountains.”

The staff went above and beyond, and I have to give a special shoutout to Simon for his exceptional service. An added bonus was the outdoor firepits and hot tub, which offered incredible views of the mountains—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The beds were incredibly comfy, and the blackout curtains made for the best night’s sleep of our whole trip. It was so nice to be able to sleep in and enjoy a later checkout time of noon. We’ll definitely be back! Highly recommend!”

“Pizza here is amazing. Worth the drive from Denver. Been here several times. Every time the pizza is hot fresh and made with the best ingredients. My favorite pizza is the chicken pesto. Also bonus points for having other options besides a tomato sauce base. Would recommend and it’s less expensive than casino food.”
