“We finally had the pleasure of getting over to Happy Eats for lunch today! We ordered the Italian Sausage Sandwich & Fries, for the kids - the half portion of Mac n Cheese and half portion of Spaghetti - I had a House Salad and added Breaded Chicken, and the Calamari (some items were dug into before I had the chance to snap a photo 😌). Everything was absolutely delicious! Even my picky eaters enjoyed their meals! The restaurant is beautifully decorated, bright, welcoming, and clean! The owners are also wonderful - 10/10 recommend. 👌“

“The service from Aiden was superb. He knew his menu and answered any questions we had. He was attentive to all of his tables, keeping drinks filled and inquiring if we needed refills on soup/salad and breadsticks. The food was very good. The pasta could use more sauce as it was a little dry, until Aiden brought out extra sauce to all of us. We truly appreciate his first rate service and representing the business well.“

The nice lady told me they were free since I dined in. The only thing y'all could improve on is serving more soda options. “We ate here last night and drove an hour to try it on the advise of friends who used to live in St. Louis. Our server Lilly was a complete joy. Our food was spectacular and we loved everything we ordered including the dessert, a pumpkin bread pudding with brioche bread and toffee syrup that was to die for. “Every time I have been to dinner at Lago, it has been a tremendous experience.

But yesterday's experience was even more special than usual.

I dined alone. No problen, I was able to reserve a table for one. No pressure to finish early or treatment that was any different than any other guest.

Brian, my waiter, was incredible. So personable, fun to chat with, and incredibly knowledgable of the menu. He is a GEM, and anyone who is at one of his tables is lucky to have him at their service!

The food? Outstanding. Possibly the best Roman-italian food this side of the Mississippi! I am very picky about my italian food, and they absolutely nailed it from the bread, the very high quality EVOO, to the al-dente carborana with guanciale (not pancetta, and never with cream). High grade Pecorino Romano as well.

Finally, dessert time came around. I really wanted the tiramisu, but I was feeling adventurous. They had their own version of Zeppole Donut holes made with riccotta and marscapone, soaked in Rum, and dusted with cinnamon sugar, with a dipping sauce of Tia Maria coffee liqueur vanilla creme. WOW!

Finally, special shout out to Brian Spicer, the somm - he was there last time I went in March, and had a very special bottle (special for me, anyway) at the time on the menu: a 2016 Feudi San Gregorio Piano di Montevergine.

Turns out a) he remembered selling that bottle to me, and b) he still had a couple!

While I did not order wine this time, I will say his wine program at that restaurant is one of the best hidden gems in the country for Italian wine.

“My wife and I, from central Texas, enjoy Chicago style deep dish pizza. However it's very hard to find it as authentic as you can get it in the Chicago area. Billy's pizza is the real deal. The atmosphere is that of a small pizza shop nestled on quite street that only locals know about. The smells of the pizza and sauces are amazing. The deep dish meat lovers was a treat. We can't wait to try some other menu items. If you get a chance While you are in Colorado Springs, I recommend stopping by and trying it out.“

“I stopped by here on my way to work, the pizza was light and crispy. It wasn't the best pizza but it was by no means bad, I liked the cheese they use. I also grabbed a pasta chicken Alfredo and it is flavorful and the portions are generous. The two ladies were keeping busy with is always a good thing to see, they were quick and polite.
