“My girlfriend and I walked here after visiting the Nature and Science Museum. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing on a Friday around noon. The avocado salmon roll was buttery umame and the Tonkatsu ramen hit just right. The pork flavor was strong but not too rich, and they gave me a generous portion of pork belly. It was served the perfect temperature. Will be back again when visiting Denver“

“I was in the parking lot and starving! Didn’t want ramen since it was so hot, so I went with a curry chicken bowl instead. It really hit the spot! The bowl had fried chicken, curry, and pickled radish—totally unexpected but awesome. The server was great, and since the place only had about three tables inside, I managed to beat the lunch rush. The ambiance was fantastic—small and intimate, kind of like being in Japan!“

“I am addicted to this place. I am in love with their Shoyu ramen with soft boiled egg and their vegetable tempura. There are many options for other ramen as well as other Japanese dishes and sushi. It's small but cozy. I just love it!“

“Food here is spectacular. The sushi is some of the freshest in town, and the cuts & presentation are special. There is usually just one chef and one waitress (I think maybe a husband and wife team, but I'm not sure), so don't expect it to be lightning fast. That said, it's worth the wait. Don't sleep on the vegetables. We got the garlic broccoli last time we were there and, despite it seeming to be very simple, it was once of the best dishes I have ever had. There are also some really interesting traditional style sushi that is unlike anything I've had at other local establishments. This is our go-to neighborhood spot when we don't feel like trucking across town to Sushi Den. Highly recommend 10/10.

“We love Kobe An and have been patrons going back 30 years since they were in Lakewood. Marco has done an amazing job with the new -er location and his staff is well trained. His newer sushi chefs are doing a fantastic job which leaves him free to focus more on the front of the house. We told him tonight that the sushi is the best it’s been in the 30 years we’ve been going to his restaurants. The hamachi and mussels were outstanding, as were the rolls and cocktails. The new Kobe An is the real deal.“

We personally didn’t like the Hawaiian roll— the flavors were kind of overwhelming & the pieces of fish felt too large for a single bite. It was probably just personal preference as there was nothing wrong with the roll!“

Entering the restaurant feels like passing through a magic gateway into rural Japan where you get to savor authentic country cuisine. “Kumoya never disappoints. The sushi is excellent and sitting to watch the chefs prepare the dishes is always a highlight for me. The service was a bit slow last night, which was unusual. And it can sometimes be confusing who to order from when at the sushi bar. . . . they chef or the server. Overall, I will continue to go back when wanting a great sushi meal!“

“Taki Sushi is a hidden gem with plenty more on the menu to round-out your tasting experience! The wife & I shared chef's Mango Chicken Salad, perfect for an appetizer, especially paired with a roasted Miso Eggplant, served elegantly atop a long banana leaf, nice presentation! We were full after splitting a Yakisoba & a few rolls! Try the Fugi Roll for a slightly larger combination bite (caviar garnishment). The fish was very fresh & clean, and the restaurant very well kept. Amazing service. Memorable date night!“

This is a very authentic little Japanese restaurant, serving up standard dishes with no frills, flavored and prepared very well. Service was a 1 woman show, super friendly but when it’s busy that means being patient. Atmosphere is not here to wow you. But all of this honestly contributes to the experience being exactly like eating at a little mom & pop restaurant in Japan. Everything was tasty, the tempura was flawless.“

The ingredients are rich and the ginseng tastes like a cure. Best ramen I ever had in my life, no joke. And the staff are amazing, very quick, responsive and friendly.“
