“When I realized I had to cut out gluten I thought I had eaten pierogi for the last time. I was so excited to find such a wide selection of flavors of gf pierogi here but also that they actually taste traditional! I boil and then pan fry them with onions and serve along with gf kielbasa and home made coleslaw. My favorite are the potato filled because I'm also dairy free otherwise I would buy the cheddar/potato filled. I can't wait to try pumpkin next! Also, their chocolate chip cookie pie slices are one of the best desserts I've ever had.“
“Dish N Dat is where it’s at! Especially the eats, service and of course the 50’s style atmosphere! On top of all that, it’s a pro military/veteran place dishing out taste. We weren’t halfway through our meal before we couldn’t wait to come back and try something else of the home cooked menu. Thanks for YOUR service Dish N Dat.Vegetarian options: They have optionsDietary restrictions: They can accommodateParking: They have two lots and a parking space designated for veterans or active military. Offer veteran discounts.Kid-friendliness: My kid was hangry they got her food out in under 10 minutes.Wheelchair accessibility: Very accommodating“
“First time trying here and glad we did. Some inventive and creative cocktails. I had the Pearberry which was very enjoyable. I had the Apricot Shrimp Risotto special. The shrimp and risotto were both cooked to perfection, portion size was spot-on and was very tasty. My wife enjoyed the fried Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich and tasty fries. We shared the Oreo brownie sundae for dessert- as much as I love Oreos, they were unnecessary as the vanilla ice cream (with just enough fudge) and warm brownie were great. The two staff tending to the bar and the booths were excellent as well.Look forward to a return when we are back in the area.Parking: It’s a shopping center with lots of parking“
“I really cannot find the right words to describe the experience you will have when you dine at this gem of a place. It is our "go to" when we want a very memorable evening. From the minute you walk in the door you will be treated like you are the most special couple in the room. Every person that works there goes above and beyond. You almost feel like you are in Europe at a little bistro. And to think it is right here in the lovely little town of Tariffville. Thank you for the wonderful memory you help create.“
“We had a group of 7 and opted for the table wide chefs 5 course tasting menu. It was excellent... A bit pricy at $85/head, but definitely uniquely flavorful and deliberately paired. An additional $50 or so gives you a wine pairing with each course as well. Definitely would try it again as the menu is ever changing and evolving with the seasons.“
“Enclave Grill is one of the best restaurants in the area. The staff is always very friendly and the food is always great. If your looking for a great hamburger I recommend the smash burger that's been a special this month. it's like a big Mac but made with fresh ingredients and is so much more elevated. Give this place a try and you'll find yourself a new favorite place to dine out.“
“This morning we had a dish called The Hungry Harvest at my favorite breakfast. shop. Three scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, avocado, shredded grilled potatoes, and a slice of toasted whole grain bread with notes of chocolate and coffee. Fabulous! As always, the service and ambience were just outstanding“
“We ate here late on a Sunday night (8:15) before heading out on a long drive. Everything was perfect - the atmosphere was really warm and somehow both super calm and happy; the menu was awesome and the food was really delicioius, and the service was attentive and fast, but not rushed.“
“????? Celebrating our daughter Gigi’s birthday, my wife and I ventured to Pop Over Eatery in Simsbury, CT, for a breakfast that was beyond our wildest dreams. As a professional chef, I was thrilled to discover a popover (also known as Yorkshire pudding) on the menu—a rare find that instantly caught my attention. The food was nothing short of fantastic, each dish prepared with such care and flavor that left us wanting more. From the sumptuous Belgian waffle to the variety of vegan options, every bite was a delight. What made our visit even more special was Sarah, the owner, who personally came over to ensure we were enjoying our meal, adding a touch of warmth and hospitality that truly made us feel at home. Pop Over Eatery is a gem in Simsbury, offering not just incredible food but also a welcoming atmosphere where every guest is treated like family. I wholeheartedly recommend this eatery to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. Hats off to Sarah and her team for making our daughter’s birthday breakfast unforgettable! ???“
“I visited this restaurant last night and I was NOT prepared for how phenomenal the food would be!! I highly recommend the braised short ribs, charcuterie board, and the hazelnut cheesecake. Atmosphere was cozy, service was impeccable. Will definitely be returning and recommending to all my friends and family!“
“Friendly's is wonderful and this location has great food and service. Love their breakfast and of course their ice cream. The Avon location I have gone to since the 90s (when Blockbuster was next door) and am so glad this location is alive and well!“
“We all had the filet, I also had the grilled shrimp...everything was excellent. The best steak we have ever had. Delicious flavor, tender, and melt in your mouth heaven. We noticed the previous reviews and after a local hotel shared how he's never had a bad meal at this location, we decided to stay for dinner and not just drinks. It DID NOT Disappoint! The service was spot on. The Simsbury location offers an excellent historical atmosphere too.“
“Friends brought us frozen eggplant parm, chicken parm & baked ziti. I just had surgery and can’t cook. We cooked them all up & every single dish is delicious! Excellent food. I am an eggplant parm aficionado and it is excellent. We are just thrilled by the generosity of our friends and thoroughly are enjoying the food! We love Craving for their breakfast & lunch but now we will be stopping by for the frozen entrees as well. Keep up the good work Cravings!“
“Went to Metro Bis for the first time (but have been a LONG time fan of Chef Chris!) this weekend. We were looking for somewhere special for lunch for my son's 21st birthday. This fit the bill and was perfect! It was a reasonable set price ($30) for 2 courses (lunch main and a dessert or salad/soup) and tons of amazing choices. You pay a little extra for appetizers and for drinks, of course. All 5 of us got something different for mains from a beefy eggplant parm to flat iron steak to crab cakes to a burger to short rib sandwich. They were ALL amazing. The quinoa salad on all of our plates was a welcome surprise and so refreshing. The desserts were varied as well with a fabulous creme brulee and panna cotta, and surprisingly even a dairy free option that was so delicious (Coconut & Chia Seed Semifreddo). I can really appreciate a restaurant that has a non-dairy creamer option for my coffee. To top it off, the service was PERFECT and the atmosphere was so relaxing. They even put a candle in my son's dessert just because we mentioned it in the reservation - such attention to detail! I'll definitely go again (trying to figure out how to get my girls group to make the drive!) So happy I finally got to Metro Bis. Faith Middleton would be proud! ;)“
“Food is great!.service is great! Name should be changed to Zen as it's really not a market place. Wine selection is very good. Alicia is delightful! Could use a few high tops tables and a few more menu items. Overall, Alicia is what makes the place a destination.“
“We have been here a few times already for their holiday buffets. The food is scrumptious. Its hot, fresh and flavorful. The waitstaff is very friendly and helpful. It's decor is lovely and it's very clean and neat. I will be trying the regular Sunday Brunch buffet as soon as it fits in my schedule and I can't wait. If you're going to try a holiday buffet, get reservations early because they are very popular. Please tey them you won't be disappointed.“
“Maple Tree Cafe is such a wonderful place. I had my baby shower there yesterday and it was such a lovely experience from the beginning to the end.The food and service were fantastic; our server was absolutely amazing, she made sure that everything was perfect. The room was a perfect size to fit all the guests (30). I highly recommend.“
“I show up there with my family of 5 including my handicapped child. Go to the accessible ramp and the door is locked. I call the restaurant to confirm they are in fact accessible. They said yes we will be there to open the door. No one came to open the door. My first time there and didn’t even make it in the building and it will be my last“
“This is a fun old feeling bar. The fanciest thing about the place is the digital juke box, and yes, it gets used. That being said, we loved this place. It was a Friday evening and the bar was full of folks who had just gotten off work.We started with the sweet chili wings, and wow.. they were good. My honey had the chicken sandwich which was good. I felt like testing to see if the Diablo burger was really that hot… it was an amazing burger, enough warmth to make you sweat but not tongue scorching. If you like spice, get this!“
“My daughter and I go here often after school or after activities. Most of the staff have great personalities and the restaurant usually isn't too bad as far as cleanliness goes. Sometimes the tables and seats could be a little cleaner but its not terrible. The pizza is really good, reminds me of papa ginos (which is my favorite pizza ever). My daughter loves their mozzarella sticks and their sauces for the wings are my absolute favorite! I love the buffalo barbecue sauce, it's delicious! I wouldn't recommend the chicken wraps though, tried a couple times now hoping the first time was a one off but really not the best item on the menu. Got a nasty stomach ache after both times trying one.“
“Went here last night for dinner. Was very good! Sat in the forge room, which has a great historic atmosphere. We started with the crab and lobster cake. Very good. Good consistency. Also fried calamari, good, not at all greasy. Main courses were duck breast with a fantastic sweet potato side (I do not like sweet potatoes but ate this up!). Friend had short rib which looked very good. Dessert was creme brûlée and carrot cake, both good. Whiskey list is fantastic! Wine list as well. Our waiter Matt was exceptional! Great personality. Great direction when asked for his recommendations.“
“Anytime I'm in this part of the state, I like to go here. They have great beer, excellent food, and sometimes there is live entertainment.I wish I could give this place a 6th star...We finally were out this way again today and I had a CBH Kolsch that our server Brianna recommended and it was good. We also enjoyed the Yankee Garden pizza.Everything was great as usual…“
“just the mere fact that you can see the river appeals to me.. the food was quite delicious too.. the service excellent and the atmosphere quite charming..definitely will go back againParking: if you can park along the river its a very calming view“
“This is a must-visit restaurant in the area.I ordered their vegetarian burger and fries with their special sauces. I had many questions, since I wasn't from the area, and the cashier was patient and kind. They offer a great variety of toppings including mushrooms and grilled onions. The wait time to receive my food was rather short. And, everything tasted so fresh! The bun was soft and warm. The sauces added unique flavor. The fries were flavorful and crisp.I left feeling stuffed in the best way. My husband ordered a shake and as someone who doesn't like sweet foods, the shake had great flavor without being too much.I really enjoyed this restaurant, and would definitely visit if I came by the area again.“
“The place is a little quirky....everyone seems to know everyone so its a little intimidating at first but the staff is welcoming and the beer selection is fantastic. The only food I've had is the roast beef sandwich which was suggested by another customer and she was right on. It was fresh, warm and pretty tasty. They had trivia going on when I was there and it seemed well received. The building is old and unique and the fireplace makes the room. Parking is a little tight but its not a big deal to park across the street. We have been twice now and its a do again for sure.“
“We arrived at 1pm and it was packed, we waited 20 minutes to be seated. Our order was good, except for the coffee, which needs to be improved because it is literally water, it has no flavor. If you want good coffee, this is not the place. Our waiter was very attentive. The prices are always very reasonable. The pancakes are exquisite. We always visit East Windsor, CT and Holyoke.“
“We've been here a few times for both dinner on the deck and special occasion events. The food is typically decent. I've enjoyed their pizza. They're meatball sub is delicious (and I'm Italian and am typically really picky when it comes to meatballs). The back deck is so delightful- especially on a cool evening sitting around one of the fire tables. I have 2 young kids so being able to dine outside is always nice. We dined there last week and had a less than stellar experience. It was a Thursday evening. The kids and I met some family after they played golf. It was much busier than I would have expected. Waitress comes over in a huff - clearly overwhelmed. She wasn't that friendly and was rushing, She took 8 orders - drinks and meals - without writing anything down. My cousin and I chuckled about it when she walked away. We were both saying it'd be a miracle if she got it right. Well she didn't. And the worst part is that we waited about 30 mins for our meals - and the two she messed up out of the 8 were my 4 and 9 year olds. So then we waited another 15 mins for 2 pizzas. It was just annoying. Write it down next time. Well obviously be back but definitely not if something like this happens again.“
“Ordered appetizers of onion rings and calamari. It was so delicious I didn't even. Snap a pic! It was literally inhaled. For the main course I ordered the Cobb salad with a add on protein. I choose steak rare. It was to die for!Dietary restrictions: They are very open to changes and questions asked about ingredients.Parking: Lots of parking . Regular and handicap.Kid-friendliness: Had a well rounded child menuWheelchair accessibility: I was able to use the rear entrance opened by staff that was right near the handicap parking. Which was awesome since my dining companion was elderly and handicapped. The bar area though does have a small flight of stairs up. It does have a hand rail if your ambulatory. There are tables on the first floor available if wheel chair use is required. You are by the pool table, awesome basketball score shooter and other games.“
“So we picked up dinner here last night and had the pesto pasta with chicken and sausage, and it was one of THE best dinners I have ever had in a very long time. It was pretty much perfect and wish I had more to eat last night.Jump forward to tonight, we got takeout from mercato and it was just ok. It wasn't on the same level as the pasta from last night.A true hidden gem.“
“Absolutely lovely and cozy place with outstanding happy hour food and drink. The service (thanks to Tate) was prompt and friendly and there was live music that didn't burst out eardrums. We loved the horseshoe shaped bar with the fireplace hearth as the backdrop. Our new favorite watering hole! Great mixed drinks too“
“Four of us enjoyed our lunch except we were seated an area with obvious huge table set up for 20 people. Once they all came in it was very noisy and the four of us had a hard time hearing each other. I would say to be mindful of such situations. I regret not asking to be moved.“
“I've been going for karaoke night every other Wednesday... Kelli (Kellioke) has a lot of songs, including recent ones, and she does a great show. Nina (server at the bar) is fantastic. The bar is quaint and historic, and there is a cute outdoor seating area. Stop in sometime!“
