“Can't say enough about this property. Course is better then ever. Food is tremendous! Had a meat platter with smoked duck and other cured meats, olives and toasted bread. Some kind of Asian style salad that was out of this world. Again beer selections were on point.“
“Wait staff was prompt to get to us even though we needed more time on the menu since everything looked so good, it was really hard to decide! When we finally did, the Food was delivered super fast! It was hot and delicious too! We loved everything! The staff there didn't overly bug you, or totally neglect you. Everything was spot on perfect for our stop. I'd definitely stop and eat big here again!“
“Great food and craft cocktail selections. Parking has limited spaces. Not exactly fine dining. Overall, the menu is well thought out, and the food experience was delightful.Dietary restrictions: Several gluten-free offerings, such as pasta and bread.“
“We had a party of 3 so tried everything on the menu and we loved it. The roasted squash was probably the star of the show. All of the entrees were nicely sized portions and well executed. The butterscotch pudding was great. Service was also top notch. Angie took great care of us and I would request her great service next time we come in. This concept is truly special and I hope it flourishes.“
“I wanted to visit my ex coworker Zach @ J Gilberts and maybe get a Burger cuz that's what I had my only time there and its one of the best burgers I've ever had. Plus I didnt want to go too crazy. But when I got there Zach told me about the 16Oz Dry Aged Kansas City Strip Steak Special that they had. I decided to go all out cuz I wantedto see if their steaks measured up to their reputation. Zach recommended a Pinot Noir from Washington that was a perfect pairing for the steak. I gotta say the green beans that I had with a jam and crumbled pecans were insanely good with the garlic mashed potatoes. AND the steak had a nice charred exterior with a perfect juicy medium rare interior. I decided to treat myself and if you are ever thinking of doing the same go to J Gilberts and ask for Zach....you won't be disappointed....you will have one of your best restaurant experiences of your life!“
“We had a group of 7 and opted for the table wide chefs 5 course tasting menu. It was excellent... A bit pricy at $85/head, but definitely uniquely flavorful and deliberately paired. An additional $50 or so gives you a wine pairing with each course as well. Definitely would try it again as the menu is ever changing and evolving with the seasons.“
“Solid food and great atmosphere. The fish really was cooked beautifully and the staff was top notch. Yummy fish and chips.Today we had a couple of apps and they were quite tasty. Calamari was really solid and my buddy got the Buffalo shrimp. They had a special swordfish entree with Lobster risotto and it was really quite tasty. Solid work per usual.Delicious clam soup and salmon dish. The spetzel (sp) was fun and unexpected. Also decent pours for your gin on the rocks. Bombay would be proud. A little heavier handed would be appreciated but better than many places. The burger looked great and the chicken parm was large and tasty. Some of my buddies shared some bites at today's group lunch“
“Best steak I've had anywhere in CT. Took it to-go and it was still perfect when I got it home. Maple cream cheese Flan with scorched marshmallows was uniquely flavorful. Fast bar service while waiting with good local choices. Can't wait to come back with family.“
“love a good Gastro pub and Union Kitchen did not disappoint. Truly wonderful and friendly staff. genuinely nice people which is a refreshing surprise. The food was excellent. Stuffed Queen Olives and Whipped Ricotta toast were incredible. main courses Shrimp and Scallop risotto and the Lobster Rigstoni arrabbiata could stand up to some of the best italian and seafood restaurants. Atmosphere was beautiful and welcoming. would definitely visit again.“
“The food is insanely good. My friend and I dine at Trumbull Kitchen before we attend Hartford Stage, and she was still extolling her dinner on the drive home after the show. She had the marinaded steak. The best thing was the response to her request to replace the fries with veggies. The choices were plentiful, and the side salad that arrived was gorgeous. My dinner was equally delicious, seared tuna with salad. Yummy and beautifully plated. The salad dressing (served on-the-side) was exquisite. We each had reasonably priced glasses of wine.Julian, our waiter was running, as was everyone on staff when it became crazy busy at around six o'clock. The bar was hopping and there was a line waiting to be seated. Yet, he checked on us every 5 to 10 minutes and made sure we were well supplied with the spicy, chip-like crackers that come in the bread basket and are irresistible. If there is one negative, it is the very loud sound system which pumps in thumping music that you might want as background for a weight-lifting class at the gym, rather than for dining. I am sure there is a metric that tells restaurants and bars that people drink more if they can't hear themselves think. Personally, I find it offensive. If I could have done, I'd have changed the selection and turned down the volume.“
“Very loud and echoey.Asked for an unsweet tea ended up getting a Lipton lemonade tea.I really wanted to give this place a bad rating cause of obnoxious customers but as soon as the food arrived 5 stars isn't enough. This is the best Mexican food I've found this far north.Got the Mexican menu breakfast burrito sub chorizo and bacon.HOLY COWSavory, salty, spicy and tasted amazing!I'll definitely be saving this place and visiting any time I'm in the area.“
“Where do I begin Family? Goldburgers deserves every single star for they go out of their way from the moment you step foot in the door to make you feel at home. The menu board is POW, right smack in your face flooded with options and for a first timer there, it could possibly be overwhelming to decide on just a few items but they are right there to hold your hungry hand and walk you through their wonderland of foodie options. Now I went in a few directions.... Let us begin with the Mac Squares that are made to attack your tastebuds in a way to bring creamy delight with an orchestra of cheese and a sweet symphony of seasoning on the fried breaded goodness that the macaroni is encased in. A single bite and your eyes widen with glee. You are nothing short of happy as you continue to chew your way through this playground of flavors that are meant for the masses. My Fat Attack did not stop there folks.... I also had their 50/50 which consists of half sweet potato fries (as my choice) and half Super Sized Onion Rings that had all types of crispiness to their own bite. Now the fries were good....Nice light Sweet and Salty vibe, they. kept you going back for more but these onion rings were made for the Champion in you! Large and in charge, crispy with a nice snap on the onions. It the batter for me that wasn't greasy but inviting. The Tso-ly Loaded Waffle fries, hit a homer and sent the rest of my appetizers to home plate and we all started to cheer within my mouth. What better way to bring about a wild and savory bite than to have some Ginger Soy coming in tangy and Chipotle Mayo barking up the right tree in way of packing a nice creamy yet spicy punch in my mouth over the crisp on that fried broccoli - TALK TO ME BABY and love me the way you do!!! I just worked you all the way up to their POT ROAST SANDWICH!! Yikes!! The easiest way to break this one down is to say, scoop your pot roast from your bowl and then slap that tasty monstrosity between two fresh buns of soft haven fun and now take a BITE!! Tender Beef, Onions with the Gravy Dripping and as you chew, a single tear drops from your eye for you've just experienced something amazing. Your soul thanks you on this one. Goldburgers, I WILL BE BACK BABY!!!“
“Had a huge burger, perfectly cooked, must have been flamed broiled as it had those nice crispy bits that can't be replicated with anything but fire. The pulled pork mac & cheese was great too, heaping portion of a nice creamy mac topped with pulled pork, bbq sauce, and finished with toasted bread crumbs. First timer, was there for Tuesday night pool league, had live music and good food, give it a whirl.“
“We ate here late on a Sunday night (8:15) before heading out on a long drive. Everything was perfect - the atmosphere was really warm and somehow both super calm and happy; the menu was awesome and the food was really delicioius, and the service was attentive and fast, but not rushed.“
“This morning we had a dish called The Hungry Harvest at my favorite breakfast. shop. Three scrambled eggs, ham, bacon, avocado, shredded grilled potatoes, and a slice of toasted whole grain bread with notes of chocolate and coffee. Fabulous! As always, the service and ambience were just outstanding“
“If you love fresh seafood dishes prepared well and a great bloody mary, this is the place. I like a lot of horseradish in my bloody marys and that is what you will find here. They know how to treat gueats, they willingly split our salad and our entree.“
“My wife and I had our first dinner at Vinted Wine Bar tonight. My wife has had a good amount of experience at Vinted, but it was my first time there. Top to bottom... TRULY EXCELLENT!! We shared a nice bottle of Daou Cab while sitting at the bar, and started with the Whipped Hummus, with Crispy Scallion Cake. Best Hummus you'll ever eat, and the warm crispy thin cake slices are very delicious with the Hummus. Terrific! Then we split and shared 2 entrees: The Chicken Milanese, and the Vinted Prime Burger. Both, also super delicious. Rich, flavorful, perfectly prepared by the talented crew in the kitchen lead by the executive chef, and partner, Mike Voight. Ate every bite of everything. Lastly, for desert we shared the Sticky Toffee Pudding Cake. Holy cow, that is one incredible desert. Our bartender Chris was very helpful, friendly, and although busy had time to talk with us. And we found all the staff, extremely personable. Mike has a finely tuned ship in Vinted. We'll be back. #impressed“
“Great experience from start to finish! Four of us had the 5 course prix fix tasting menu with wine pairings, and everything was delicious. Portions were generous without making us overstuffed, or wanting more. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant! Server PJ was the best, and made the experience outdoors even more fun!Update: We have since gone back to Present Company several times, and it never disappoints. We recently dined at the chef’s counter (had a great time with Matt!) and enjoyed the 4 course prix fixe, and some of the standouts were the duck confit, cappelletti, sourdough späetzel that was surprisingly spicy and delicious, the striped bass and the espresso martini. I had a delicious cocktail similar to a Paloma, but much more interesting and complex in flavor. The service is always top notch even when the place is busy. We look forward to our next visit!“
“Dante and the crew hosted the Wolf Pack Booster Club and the Providence Bruins Fan Club for family dinner yesterday! It was awesome. The food was amazing, the service was awesome and the experience was great. I appreciated that they were able to accomodate a large group before a big game. Awesome Cheeseburger pizza as always!! The garlic knots and the meatballs were also amazing!“
“If you find yourself in East Hartford CT you definitely have to stop at Augie & Ray's, the staff are always friendly I recommend their breakfast sandwiches always add a hash brown onto the sandwich you can request that, it turns a amazing sandwich into an even more amazing sandwich, I also recommend their pepper and onion cheese burger and their chili cheese dog with the toasted bun fire ?? writing this review has me wanting more I definitely will be back that's a promiseKid-friendliness: Yes definitely kid friendly“
“????? Celebrating our daughter Gigi’s birthday, my wife and I ventured to Pop Over Eatery in Simsbury, CT, for a breakfast that was beyond our wildest dreams. As a professional chef, I was thrilled to discover a popover (also known as Yorkshire pudding) on the menu—a rare find that instantly caught my attention. The food was nothing short of fantastic, each dish prepared with such care and flavor that left us wanting more. From the sumptuous Belgian waffle to the variety of vegan options, every bite was a delight. What made our visit even more special was Sarah, the owner, who personally came over to ensure we were enjoying our meal, adding a touch of warmth and hospitality that truly made us feel at home. Pop Over Eatery is a gem in Simsbury, offering not just incredible food but also a welcoming atmosphere where every guest is treated like family. I wholeheartedly recommend this eatery to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience. Hats off to Sarah and her team for making our daughter’s birthday breakfast unforgettable! ???“
“Well I don’t Know because first we did happy hour in the dining area because we brought are kids so yesterday they said no we don’t do happy hour here in the dining area only bar area. Ok since when ? But the manager said only for today then it was 4 of us and they didn’t want to divide the bill they want to spilt the bill in 4 I said no we ordered different we want to paid what we ordered.“
“I visited this restaurant last night and I was NOT prepared for how phenomenal the food would be!! I highly recommend the braised short ribs, charcuterie board, and the hazelnut cheesecake. Atmosphere was cozy, service was impeccable. Will definitely be returning and recommending to all my friends and family!“
“Can't say enough about a place my family routinely requests for dinner outtings. What a find this was years ago and glad to call it a staple in our eats tour.I personally love the look of the environment and the variety of rooms to be seated in.The food is always delicious, well paced for courses and never disappointing.Fried Brussel sprouts is a must and working from one end of the menu to the other is an adventure.“
“We all had the filet, I also had the grilled shrimp...everything was excellent. The best steak we have ever had. Delicious flavor, tender, and melt in your mouth heaven. We noticed the previous reviews and after a local hotel shared how he's never had a bad meal at this location, we decided to stay for dinner and not just drinks. It DID NOT Disappoint! The service was spot on. The Simsbury location offers an excellent historical atmosphere too.“
“This spot is one of my go to restaurants. The food is creative and locally sourced, there are fun specials, the cocktails are hit/miss. Service depends on how busy the restaurant is, it seems like the servers get relatively large sections so when it's busy you might not see your server for a while but they are very attentive when you can get a hold of them. The dessert and coffee is always very good!“
“Food was great and the pretzel is huge! Prices were reasonable too. Service was excellent the only downfall was they closed at 8:30pm on the night of the college football national championship. Was looking forward to ordering tons of food and drinks while enjoying the game but wasn't meant to be.“
“Lovely lovely experience! Great food and great service! Would recommend to anyone who wants to try some of the best food. I went with my girlfriend and we enjoyed it so much the whole place is very aesthetic and the food is too. Even the menu looks good. There is an option for everyone whether you are picky or you like all food. So if you're in the area do make sure you come by and try this lovely food“
“We arrived a bit early for our reservation (and before our guest), but the hostess said we could be seated whenever we were ready. The space is relaxed yet well-appointed, and the tables are nicely spaced in the main dining room. Our server was very attentive and friendly. While we sipped wine and perused the menu, we enjoyed some delightful warm hearty bread. My husband and I both had the hanger steak (medium rare) and fries which was was perfectly done in a rich brown sauce that was "lick the plate clean" good! Our guest was very pleased with her swordfish. For dessert, we opted for the chocolate creme brulee which was fabulously delicious and a perfect end to a perfect meal!“
“Seated 4 at 1730 on Tuesday with no reservation and no wait. What an incredible dining experience! The seafood here is absolutely delicious, Chilean Sea Bass was to die for. Brilliant flavor, wonderful accoutrements, and a mouthfeel that's almost impossible to describe. Had tiramisu for dessert, and that was also incredible.Atmosphere in this place is also incredible, if you're not from New England the covered bridge is absolutely adorable and serves for really cute ambiance.“
“A phenomenal concert venue right in the heart of downtown Hartford, CT. Come see your favorite act But don't forget there's a great bar inside before the show and there's also a bar in the concert hall for refreshments during the show.“
“The people in the staff here are so wonderful! They're very friendly and provide you with service right when you get in! The food is fantastic! I drove from Meriden to come over here to have their New York Strip!!!! So delicious and tender! Everyone should go and try it!“
“Really nice feeling to go and enjoy a meal with you and your family. Service and food is also just amazing always cooked to perfection.Dietary restrictions: A lot of good stuff to choose from even when trying to cut weight or add in weightParking: More than enough spots and accessible easilyKid-friendliness: Amazing for having kids here they love it a lot!Wheelchair accessibility: A lot of pathways to get to the friendly that are wheel chair accessible helps my mom get into the friendlys a lot!“
“Red rock is a great place to gather and have a delicious meal. They have great rotating specials and a menu that can accommodate a wide array of diets. Some of my favorite items they serve are eggplant Parmesan, their homemade hummus, all of their salads, and any pasta dish they serve.“
“Solid breakfast joint with fresh ingredients and cooked to order - with the BEST service from a different time and place, where people cared and customers mattered. I will stop by again when I'm passing through town to remind myself how things SHOULD be.“
“We had food experience, everything is made in house. The staff is excellent and we got to meet the chef and the owner's son. My wife and I travel quite a lot in America and Europe especially Austria and we have to say this is a hidden Gem. Everything we had was above and beyond. Thank you everyone at Carmine's for an excellent meal and good time.“
“Went to Sunday brunch Jan 21st. I placed a review in Yelp; therefore; this will be brief. I thought the food and temperature of the food was excellent. Lots of varieties; meats; veggies; pasta; salads; fruit; sides and desserts. Mimosas; champagne and Bloody Mary's were great. Plenty of parking and fast seating. The hostess allowed us to choose any available table. Our Waiter (Junior) was attentive; fast; accurate; professional and funny?. I noticed the Wait staff and Hostess were dressed in uniformity; wearing white shirts and black slacks. HOWEVER; I could not believe my eyes ? when I saw the 2 guys at the carving and omelette station. They were wearing "street" clothes (sweats) and beanies on their heads. They were not dressed in uniforms; or at least wearing aprons and matching caps or a hair net. Thank God they had on gloves. Totally; totally unprofessional and unsanitary. Everything was good up until seeing that; very disappointing.“
“Absolutely amazing food and the owner is so kind and lovely. I feel so bad that I don't remember her name, because she had remembered everything from our first conversation when we went back for the second time 9 months later!! We live pretty far away, otherwise would be there so much more often. Ask her opinion for what to get if you aren't sure, she has fantastic recommendations.“
“Great old-fashioned diner with a Polish twist. My eggs/bacon/pancake breakfast was fine, and the cheese pierogi with onions and sour cream were fantastic -- the cooking makes them more like part of a meal instead of a snack. They were so good I couldn't finish my pancakes!“
“Went to Metro Bis for the first time (but have been a LONG time fan of Chef Chris!) this weekend. We were looking for somewhere special for lunch for my son's 21st birthday. This fit the bill and was perfect! It was a reasonable set price ($30) for 2 courses (lunch main and a dessert or salad/soup) and tons of amazing choices. You pay a little extra for appetizers and for drinks, of course. All 5 of us got something different for mains from a beefy eggplant parm to flat iron steak to crab cakes to a burger to short rib sandwich. They were ALL amazing. The quinoa salad on all of our plates was a welcome surprise and so refreshing. The desserts were varied as well with a fabulous creme brulee and panna cotta, and surprisingly even a dairy free option that was so delicious (Coconut & Chia Seed Semifreddo). I can really appreciate a restaurant that has a non-dairy creamer option for my coffee. To top it off, the service was PERFECT and the atmosphere was so relaxing. They even put a candle in my son's dessert just because we mentioned it in the reservation - such attention to detail! I'll definitely go again (trying to figure out how to get my girls group to make the drive!) So happy I finally got to Metro Bis. Faith Middleton would be proud! ;)“
“I was at Kbarr 2 Friday's ago June 16th to be exact I had a great time. I just missed the happy hour ?? lol but still had a great time food was amazing Maddie the bartender was great made the best rum punch I've ever had it was better than the rum punch I was drinking in Jamaica...the food was great as well as the atmosphere I definitely can't wait to go back to see my Girl Maddie she's my new favorite bartender. Oh yeah this time I will make happy hour??? see ya'll soon!!!“
“just the mere fact that you can see the river appeals to me.. the food was quite delicious too.. the service excellent and the atmosphere quite charming..definitely will go back againParking: if you can park along the river its a very calming view“
“Great Detroit Style pizza!! Have not had it since the last time I was in Detroit and I must say this place nailed it!! The Mac and Cheese also did not disappoint! The only negative was the clam chowder soup was very runny - still tasty but probably wouldn’t order it again. Service was also outstanding!!“
“There are a number of very good restaurants/eateries in Old Wethersfield. Smoked on Main is a gem specializing in BQ and BQ/fusion. It adds a more casual vibe to the area without sacrificing quality. I reviewed the menu before entering and thought I had decided on a very traditional bq meal. But when I saw the specials, my plans went out the window. I chose an order of 2 specials: Turkey empanadas and the beef habanero tacos. Both were presented well and had phenomenal flavor. I don't want to forget to mention that both dishes had a nice kick... not unbearably hot, just a wonderful kick to the taste buds. This place is a great addition to the Old Wethersfield dining scene. There's indoor seating in a very clean and modern interior. This location was the Grange Hall and obviously has gone through a major renovation. There will be outdoor seating once the warmer weather returns. I'll be back.“
“TJs is a sports bar with great food and immaculately clean. The burger ? tastes like steak! I have had three of them and they are the "best burger" I personally have had in Connecticut. It's small in a cozy, way and the 8 TVs are set up so you can see NFL or Basketball anywhere you sit. It's really perfect for 3 friends & you to play pool and eat, or a casual "date night" because there are booths you can snuggle up in. I usually just go to the bar side; but the restaurant side has 8 small booths so you can take mom or a friend to a tasty lunch. The menu is quite large but I personally stick to burgers.“
“This establishment has been here since the early 50s, though I doubt it still has its original owner. This is a diner it the most classical sense. It is notnkne of those places pretending to be something it isn't.A lot of so called diners nowadays are nothing more than resturants with a counter. This is a true holdover from when the best way from Boston to New York City was by taking US-5 which conveniently still runs right in front of the place. The food was as one would expect. There was nothing that stood out stunningly. The burger was large, and the onion rings were able to satiate my weekly grease intake.I will still be going back here at least one more time, but I'll be trying something else instead. One thing I was disappointed in was that there didn't seem to be any pies. I was looking forward to trying a diner pie, but alas, it was not ment to be.Vegetarian options: There are a bunchnof things that are vegetarian, but most of the menu is mostly meat.Dietary restrictions: This is probably not the place to go if you have any restrictions to your diet.Parking: There are a few spaces in front, but a rather a good-sized lot right around back.Kid-friendliness: Sure, why not. This place has both high and booster chairs. I don't remember seeing a kids' menu, but it's never too soon to introduce them to diner life.Wheelchair accessibility: It's surprisingly accessible. There are a few spots out back, and a very nice ramp of which to roll up. There is a table, buy only the one. If you ca t sit there, you'd need to sit at the end of a booth.“
“We have been here a few times already for their holiday buffets. The food is scrumptious. Its hot, fresh and flavorful. The waitstaff is very friendly and helpful. It's decor is lovely and it's very clean and neat. I will be trying the regular Sunday Brunch buffet as soon as it fits in my schedule and I can't wait. If you're going to try a holiday buffet, get reservations early because they are very popular. Please tey them you won't be disappointed.“
“I usually order on doordash because I am a lazy potato but today I picked up in person a big order of Buffalo wings for a get together. 10/10 these wings are so good! Cooked perfectly, not soggy from the sauce, good texture and comes with ranch for dipping. I also like to get their cheeseburgers, they are decent for the price, and the cheesesteaks and chopped cheese are also really good. Whenever I get fries they are not soggy, served in a little bag. Overall if you are thinking of trying their food, you should! I will keep coming back because the food is good, always quick and reasonably priced.“
“Food is great!.service is great! Name should be changed to Zen as it's really not a market place. Wine selection is very good. Alicia is delightful! Could use a few high tops tables and a few more menu items. Overall, Alicia is what makes the place a destination.“
“Needed something for dinner after a long day and decided to stop in after work. Others in my family have had the food here and enjoyed it. I had the turkey burger and it was delicious! I haven’t eaten an entire burger in one sitting in forever but I did today. Fries were nicely cooked as well. I’ll be back to try other menu items.“
