“We stopped by Norbrook farm brewery while passing through the area and were happy we did! We ordered the Dennis Hill Estate Saision with notes of orange and coriander. We also got the maple based ale, Goulets Grade A Ale. While very tasty, it was a little sweeter than we were used to for a beer. The space is beautiful and a farm house vibe with lovely views and ample outside seating. Worth the stop for sure!”

“One of the best burgers i have had in years. Absolutely recommended. Eclairs are huge and tasty, rolls are freshly baked. French fries were made from real fresh cut deep fried potato, which is extremely rare these days. serving local soda instead the usual boring stuff.Friendly atmosphere and awesome people running the place!The restaurant is homelike, a lot of art and small pieces that make it feel like you are at home.Overall, this is the place to dine-in or take out, much better than any other places I have been in the area, also the value is really good. I read that place overpriced? I disagree completely, you get much more for what you pay.10/10!”

“Tonight was my first time to this place and l am shocked. I can imagine how any business owner can treat his clients, but not in the way I experienced the owner of this place .. the passion on his face as he was demonstrating his food qualities was unexpected. As a meat lover who was born in restaurants business family is hard to please.. this guy did it .. I was eating my 14 oz rebeye and praying not to finish . Every bite from that sucker I have story to tell .The entertainment that I had experienced in this place was extraordinary, I would never stop visiting him every time I want to taste something imaginary and legendary.Thank you for quality and generosity!”

“Went to the Old Inn on the Green for a Birthday dinner and it was exquisite. Quite simply one of the most amazing meals my husband and I have ever enjoyed. The food is truly, truly special. Lovely candlelit atmosphere, attentive service. Treat yourself. You will not regret it.”

“Great beer, great bunch of people, great fun. They have activities during the week and all sorts of food trucks. They have an outside beer garden when you don’t want to stay inside. Dog friendly on the outside, unfortunately not dog friendly on the inside. Other breweries are dog friendly as they do not cook food in the facility. Don’t know why Legitimus doesn’t do the same. I took one star off for that.”

The Hot Dogs and All American Burger hit the spot, and the fries reminded me of Concetto’s.When I grew up here on Meadow St, Concetto’s was down the street, but, to the left. The portions are ample, and the prices a reasonable.This family run establishment is a real gem for this region.The food is ALWAYS excellent. “I’m hesitant to say how much I adore this place, the staff and, of course, the food. The reason for my reluctance is fear it will become a hot spot, thus ruining the best kept Berkshire secret. Relocation to the Berks when Covid hit in 2020, led me to Southfield when I googled restaurants in the area. I put it on my “must go” list. From the moment I entered, I knew it would be a favorite. Fantastic sandwiches such as The Favorite which is composed of tomato, mozzarella and basil panini actually became my favorite; until I ordered a BLT. Making my way through the menu, (not in the same day!!!) a Reuben called me by name. Delicious. Hit the spot. I could not finish the sandwich. Every item is fresh fresh fresh! Tuna melt? Oh yes! Fantastic. Again, could not finish it. Egg salad is divine. Abby prepared it right there. Every sandwich is above any preconceived expectation, whether or not you see yourself a food snob. (I’m definitely one)!! The in house bakery, which also bakes for the In on the Green, turns out the very best. I’ve had great Linzer cookies in my life. Theirs are rivaled by no one, even Paris! Blueberry muffins, Grandma’s chocolate cake will have you looking for her in the kitchen. Brunch should be experienced by anyone who enjoys a relaxing weekend with family and a fantastic breakfast. French toast is noteworthy as they use house made challah. Try it. Eggs, bacon, sausage, all the breakfast items we love are prepared to perfection. Muffins, scones, cinnamon buns, pound cakes, all baked in the kitchen. The list of everything I’ve tried and loved is too lengthy for me to explain how wonderful everything is. You must try them yourself. Now the staff. Wonderful group who are happy and welcoming. They know their jobs and remain personable even on the busy, oh so popular weekends. Hard working, yet they manage to keep the restaurant clean. Alex who manages Southfield is very attentive and knows his job well. This is one well oiled machine. I think it’s rare when employees highly respect their employers and the employer highly respects them. It’s a obvious this is the case at Southfield. They enjoy going to work! Alex is the son of the owners of Inn on the Green up the road, which is another must go! Sadly, I had to vacate the Berkshires. I am presently an hour and forty minutes away yet I make a point to go back frequently. Yes. It’s THAT good! PS: kid friendly!”

“It's called the Rusty General Store (next to the Rusty Nail Bar and Grill), but the store part seems to be more ceremonial. There were some token non-perishable groceries, but the main attraction is definitely the sandwiches. The store is on the site of the Burr's Mill, and a few yards from the Sue Grossman Still River Greenway. There even appears to be parking for the Greenway across the street. I had a BEC breakfast sandwich, and it was hot and eggy. The egg was perfectly proportioned to the roll, and would definitely go back for more or to try a lunch sandwich. They do have daily specials - the day I was there they were pushing a buffalo mac and cheese available on a sandwich or as a stand alone dish. The women at the deli were even kind enough to send my dog a piece of cheese when they noticed him being walked in the parking lot (an especially kind gesture because I did not plan to share my breakfast sandwich).They also have an ice cream station that serves local Peaches N Cream ice cream (although not particularly hopping in November). There is indoor and outdoor seating, and parking seems sufficient for the two businesses.”

There's something different about these dogs and I always think of this stand when I think of the best I've been to, if you're ever in south west Torrington (or feel like making a special trip) I'd recommend Kurt's, it's a good call.
