“My favorite Thai restaurant currently in the greater Hartford area. The food reminds me of my mom's cooking. I make the trip from Hartford To New Britain whenever I want a piece of home. This small quaint restaurant packs a punch and doesn't hold back on flavor. While some places water down the flavor to cater to a broader audience Mai (the owner) chefs it up as if she is in her home kitchen cooking for family. You taste the loving in her cooking. There is limited seating but when you get the chance order a few dishes with friends or family and share the meal Thai style. You can always order in advance and pick up or utilize a delivery service. You won't be disappointed. Ask for Mai (pronounced May) and tell her Ty sent you. She will make sure you're taken care of.“
“Yummy!!! Just the right amount of flavor. Not salty. Good portion sizes. Clean, spacious restaurant. Very nice customer service- attentive, polite, and communicative. Took it home for dinner so my pics aren’t great but it was delicious and there were no leftovers!!! I’m going back.Parking: There were about 5 stops on the restaurant premises but you could park on the street.“
“We Went in for Valentine’s Day dinner. It Very busy, full of customers. We had the shrimp for appetiser, dinner was Basil Duck (which was fabulous, definitely would order this again!) and Chicken/coconut Curry (also very yummy) We had a delicious dessert of homemade chocolate mousse which was perfect! Reasonable prices for as much food as they serve! Very nice staff and we had an excellent meal and servers and staff were very wonderful and made the experience great!! A gem hiding in plain sight here in Canton!“
“Delicious food !The owners worked with me to cater lunch for a large group, with many different food allergies. They were so helpful and accommodating, and the food was so good! Do not hesitate to support this small business!!Dietary restrictions: Many options for all dietary restrictions.“
“Mae Kong is a great littleThai restaurant . The owner cares about her food and it shows . It is a small place tasteful but simple atmosphere . I have eaten here for many years . It is one of the few restaurants in downtown New Britain that has withstood the rest of time. While many others have come and gone Mae Kong survives. The menu is varied and contains many Thai dishes you won't find elsewhere . I have Tom Yum Khoong soup, the Larb, Pad-See-ew, a couple of Prik dishes, the green, Panang and Mussaman curries as well as several other dishes . All ver excellent. S solid and relatable Thai restaurant. It's BYOB.“
“We went on a slow night so the service was great and I had the Seafood vegetable stir fry. It was very good. Our waitress also brought out fried wontons and spring rolls. The dipping sauce for those was excellent! It was well priced also. I will go back.“
“We got takeout. My sesame shrimp and scallops was cooked perfectly but unfortunately did not hold up in the sauce. The taste was fantastic but maybe a dish not great for takeout as the coating was mushy. The Hunan beef was perfect. Melts in your mouth and lots of flavor with just the right amount of kick. My egg roll tasted like it had been lying around for a while, which I have not experienced from other restaurants so that was a disappointment.“
