“We’ve worked with Michael & Gaila many times over the years for parties with more than 100 people to dinners for two. They are exceptional: food is always delicious, the service is exceptional and completely reliable. To top it off, they are good people. Highly recommend.“
“I was in the area and had to stop in because I remember this bakery from 35 years ago when I worked in the area! I was so happy to see it was still there. HAD to get the delicious chocolate mousse cake that I remembered. It was still as delicious as it was back in the day! Also got some cookies and they were SOOOO good!“
“Amazing employees, counter girls were a pleasure to deal with, they are so courteous and nice I just keep coming back to see them even though the food is not that great, I would definitely hire them if they decide to leave, people like that is so hard to find“
“This place is a gem in Cos Cob. Everything is delicious and it's very gluten-free and dairy-free friendly for my dietary needs. My go-to's are the quarter chicken meal with brussel sprouts, creamy tahini sauce, and the fries. Dare I say, best brussel sprouts I've ever had. The sauce is divine!Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian options in the form of sides, salads and wraps.Dietary restrictions: Menu items are clearly labeled for gluten-free and vegan options.“
“Made a reservation here for restaurant week. Apparently didn't need one. The place has its own parking lot with about a dozen spots. We entered the building which took us into the bar, which was bustling. The dining room was quaint, with some really nice booths and a fireplace that should have been lit. Our server was a good looking young man, pleasant, not overbearing with a sense of humor. We opted to include an additional appetizer of baked clams to our meal, along with the crab cake and winter salad, which I forgot to take photos of. My friend opted for the lamb chops while I had the branzino piccata. Yummy, although the menu never stated that the fish was served over a shrimp risotto. (I'm allergic to shrimp). Only 1 bone in the fish, so I was lucky. Our dessert consisted of tiramisu and rainbow cookie cheesecake. I was "fortunate" to get the last piece although not very cheesecake-y. All in all we had a nice dinner and will maybe return for another meal.“
“Open for lunch! Google maps said closed, (found out later, website had corrrct hours!) but we stopped by anyway thankfully. Beautiful lunch menu. Perfect French onion soup, sandwiches, etc. Excellent service because down to earth, real, friendly. Shall I continue? Totally recommend.“
“Niki and Ralph made our wedding planning, and wedding day very special!! Niki and Ralph were so easy to work with and extremely professional. All of our guest were extremely impressed with the venue, the staff, and the food. We are eternally grateful for our experience with Niki, Ralph, and Whitby Castle. Jordan and I would 100% recommend Whitby Castle!!!“
“Just stopped in today for lunch and picked up the Fish Sandwich of the Day. Absolutely delicious fresh grilled branzino on a fresh brioche roll with greens and amazing fresh tartar sauce. I chose the salad side instead of fries and it was delicious with a great, homemade vinagarette. I will be back to try more! Well done!“
“I have been coming to Happiness Is for years. I work from home in the area, and Happiness Is is a great local place for lunch. I walk there from my house at least 2 to 3 times a month. I am a huge fan of their Thursday chicken and spinach quesadillas. I also very much enjoy their sandwiches, particularly the Norbadeer and the Caprese. The baked goods are yummy too. I have had the brownie and the chocolate croissant- both were good. The food is delicious and fresh, and the prices are reasonable for the area. There have been a few surly employees over the years, including a guy who insisted he had given me sour cream with my quesadilla when he definitely gave me salad dressing. Those occasions have been rare, though, and I generally have had pleasant experiences with the staff.“
