“I was here on business. I went to familiar territory. Wegmans. Who doesn't like Wegmans? Surely not me. Wegmans has their formula down to a science. I ordered at the burger bar. I am currently doing the CARNIVORE diet and ordered just cheeseburgers patties. They were used to dealing with peculiar requests. The burgers were made, but they forgot the cheese. When I went low key upset (but always respectful) they promptly fixed it by handing me 3 slices of cheese and patting me on the head. Anywho, there are the regular tables and booths where you can have a seat and eat your food. There was plenty of space. I went during dinner and there were maybe 5 or 6 people sitting in the dining area designed for 60. After eating, I went to buy some essentials in the grocery store section. I literally bought bacon and cooked it in the hotel room the next day. lol.“

“Bill and his team did an AMAZING job for my daughter's first birthday. We expected about 100 people and EVERYONE raved about the food! We also had a TON of leftovers. They showed up on time, set up and broke down so efficiently. I didn't have to worry or do a thing! They thought of everything....down to the lighter for the cakes!! Thank you Bill! “This is probably my favorite deli in town. Very small in a calm neighborhood but the food is amazingly tasty and the owner is very welcoming. My food always comes out quick and hot. I'd recommend their subs/sandwiches on the menu. I also really like how they incorporate Peruvian snacks/drinks such as Inca cola soda. My favorite would definitely be their bacon egg and chesse's on a roll with a side of fries. Always hits the spot :)“

“This place is a gem in Cos Cob. Everything is delicious and it's very gluten-free and dairy-free friendly for my dietary needs. My go-to's are the quarter chicken meal with brussel sprouts, creamy tahini sauce, and the fries. Dare I say, best brussel sprouts I've ever had. The sauce is divine!Vegetarian options: There are some vegetarian options in the form of sides, salads and wraps.Dietary restrictions: Menu items are clearly labeled for gluten-free and vegan options.“

“We have a lot of fond memories on Glen Island so it only is appropriate to have a wedding there. Met with Rocco he was extremely helpful. Because of Covid restrictions and other family emergencies we had to put the planning of our wedding on hold. We recently looked at this venue and it is looking like this place will be the winner for having our winter wedding in 2022. Tasteful decor, classy, elegant but not ostentatious or over the top like some of the other venues, which is exactly my style.“

“Whitby Castle in Rye, NY is the absolute best & most perfect place for a wedding & we very highly recommend it as your wedding venue! We got married in March 2024 on a Saturday afternoon at Whitby & it was better than we ever could have imagined thanks to the breathtaking venue & all the amazing managers & staff. We looked at 10 wedding venues in Tri-state area before finding Whitby, & we knew we had to get married there the minute we saw it. First was the gorgeous castle & grounds (flawlessly manicured lawns on Rye Golf club & striking views of LI Sound), & how the venue provided accommodations for all weather types. Next was the wedding package, which included everything needed & was the best price for all options; we couldn’t find a better price anywhere.From our first meeting w/ Niki, the Catering Sales Manager at Whitby, we knew we made the right choice. Niki handled everything w/ the venue throughout the process, including catering, vendors, amenities & all options available through Whitby. Niki took the time to get to know us & thoroughly explained the numerous elements to consider when planning our wedding. She made us feel as if she genuinely cared about us & our wedding (because she did). We later met w/ the Ops Manager, Ralph, about 3 weeks before the wedding & he was just as awesome. Ralph had all the particulars laid out for every aspect of our wedding & provided a comprehensive timeline & wedding plan. Niki & Ralph were incredibly professional & knowledgeable, & also exceedingly responsive & accommodating.Weather was no concern on our wedding day because of how Whitby operates. They have complete & functional outdoor heating throughout the wraparound patio that hosted much of cocktail hour, despite it being high 50°. We had wonderful sun on morning of our wedding, but it was windy & our ceremony would be on colder side in afternoon. We did not want our guests to sit in the cold, so we had an indoor wedding, & it was beyond stunning. The magnificent arch windows in the reception hall gave us astonishing light & scenic views for the ceremony. Regardless of weather, they set up for both options, to have our wedding inside or outside. We thought this was amazing considering how unpredictable weather can be. Some venues tend to have multiple weddings to maximize space, but we appreciated that Whitby treated us as the main event.In addition to astounding views & spectacular customer service, the entrées & various food courses were outstanding. I am not sure which our guests raved about more, the delectable food or marvelous views. We also have nothing but phenomenal things to say about Rosa, the bridal attendant at Whitby. Rosa was exceptionally attentive & helpful throughout the day. Niki, Ralph, Rosa, & our maître d', Gabriel, were all extremely organized & prepared for every scenario. There were so many moving parts & minute details involved in our wedding, but Gabriel was so on top of everything & made it a day to remember. The service was impeccable & all Whitby staff were tremendously kind & helpful. Nearly all our guests told us how it was not only the most beautiful & fun wedding they have ever been to, but the best party. Whitby gave us a wedding beyond our dreams. We couldn’t be happier w/ our wedding & we know it was all because of the venue & their fantastic team. The venue was beautiful, with plenty of space to accommodate our large group. The food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. “This was our first time at this restaurant and we really enjoyed it. The food was uniformly excellent. I had the halibut and the other people had the seafood pasta dish, which I also tasted. We had the chowder appetizer which was very good but just a bit on the salty side. Service was casual but efficient and attentive. They split a shared appetizer without being asked. It's a little on the noisy side but not nearly as bad as some other restaurants. While not inexpensive it's a good value.“

I was in search of a great chef to come to our home and cook a surprise 60th birthday dinner for my husband and came across Chef Abyssinia with a Google search that turned up with many 5-star reviews. I called immediately and was fortunate she was available. It was a pleasurable experience from start to finish and if I could give more than a 5-star review I would. She is a warm, friendly, and incredibly talented chef who takes great pride in her work as was displayed by the preparation and deliciousness. I would go as far as saying it was one of our top 5 meals ever and we are big foodies. We went with the 4-course option that included Scallops Au Gratin, Winter Salad, Maple Glazed Salmon & Chocolate Mousse. We tasted the freshness and love with every bite. Everything from the presentation of the food to the food itself ( delectable) to the passing of wine and dessert to the clean up ( she left my kitchen spotless) was exceptional. When beginning the venue search we knew we wanted a waterfront venue with an outdoor space for the ceremony and a suitable indoor option in case the weather didn't cooperate. “Mickey's Oasis in Scarsdale is a hidden gem for BBQ lovers. Food truck on the side of the road with outdoor seating adds to the charm. The smoked BBQ here is top-notch, with smoky ribs, pulled pork, and mouthwatering brisket. The prices are affordable, and the staff is friendly. Definitely need to return to try their chicken and burgers. Mickey's Oasis is a must-visit for delicious BBQ in a outdoor setting.“
