Absolutely fell in love with this tavern in Mystic’s downtown! This was the first place we had ever tried a scotch egg and we really enjoyed it! All of the food was delicious, and they had a solid corned beef Reuben. We visited while they had their winter cocktail specials and they were so adorable!! Such a cozy spot that we will definitely keep in mind for future visits to Mystic!
My co-workers and I have been eating at Friar Tuck's for quite some time when we are in town (maybe 3 or 4 times a year). The food is always good with plenty of options for all, including non-meat eaters. Again, we had a very delicious meal and an engaging server with a great attitude. However, I would like to comment to one aspect which just got under my skin tonight. There was a $1.00 up charge for substituting a Beyond burger for a normal burger. Our waitress was absolutely amazing; I really appreciate her going and getting the ingredients list for the delicious relish to make sure it was safe as I have a food allergy. Everything was fresh, excellent quality, and beautifully presented. We will definitely want to come back next time we're in the area!
